Azure is a curious girl, very drawn to knowledge. Ready to devour all of it, every book the world has to offer. As she was so loved by her parents, she is in turn a loving person. Always willing to help and give all that she can for those she cares about. Fiercely loyal to her friends and quite an amiable person, always ready to make new connections. She is as caring and thoughtful as she is curious. Yet also a creature of passion and whim. Sometimes she loses herself for days on end in her studies, forgets to contact people and is distracted rather easily. She'll often go away without telling anyone, on some expedition or unplanned excursion. This is as much a reflection of her sheltered, irresponsibility as it is of her absentmindedness. She'd never want to hurt anyone. Betrayal is her deepest fear, and when met with it she reaches a state of uncontrollable anger. This has happened once in her life, a cheating boyfriend to blame. Although she does not fall in love based on gender, at all.

A strong Atlantean lineage has gifted Azure, and all of her bloodline, with watered down versions of the raw power of Atlantis. With each generation the powers dilute even more.
Underwater Breathing - In unpolluted waters, one can breathe and talk for roughly twenty four hours underwater. However, as most lakes, rivers and even the ocean is polluted, in most normal bodies of water this ability can last anywhere from thirty minutes to three hours.
Ocean Walking - While underwater breathing in the ocean, the ability to walk on the ocean floor is activated as well.
Fish Affinity - While underwater breathing is activated, fish and sealife are very friendly towards the bearer of these powers.
Atlantean Affinity - So far, Azure is the only member of her family to have this power. At her touch, Atlantean technology awakens. Only Atlantean descendants of her generation have this ability, for reasons unknown to anyone. Some Atlantean technology can be used by others after activation, others can only be used by Atlantean descendants. None of the artifacts discovered have been military, most have been holographic-like logs and communication devices. It is believed that the people of Atlantis were a peaceful people, so no military objects are likely to be found.
Tears of Atlantis - The only artifact Azure possesses are a set of bright, glowing azure tear shaped crystals that allow telepathic and empathetic communication between the people that own them. She has three, and would only part with one to a loved one or best friend. They are precious family heirlooms.
Associated with these powers are the vivid dreams and night terrors that riddle her dreams, all of Atlantis. Perhaps a past life, or an ancestor's memory. Either way, when the moon is full she barely sleeps.

The open sky revealed to her eyes every night. If she was lacking a singular thing, it was a playmate. As an only child, isolated in the countryside, the school she attended was small and she was the youngest. Yet even that was normal, she was never lonely. Wildly imaginative, that alone made for excellent company. All was truly harmonious.
Until adolescence. An awakening in itself, along with the trapping of being a teenager, Azure had to deal with terrible, horrible nightmares. Vivid and beautiful dreams of a land under the sea would often turn to violent post apocalyptic nightmares. They weren't the worst dreams though. The most frightening was always waking up to a handsome yet weary looking lover, feeling warmth and love overflow...until he stabbed her right in heart, and she woke to her countryside cottage and loving parents. The real world. These dreams fascinated her more than anything else, the strange technologies and fashions seeming like a mixture of the fantasy and science fiction novels she loved so dearly.
When she revealed these dreams to her mother, a story was told. Of ages past, and glories old. Atlantis. Whether this was an ancient civilasion of earth or of some other planet, no one knew. All that was known was the lineage, and the power that bloodline held. That night, she swam with her mother in a lagoon and in the full moon her powers manifested. Ancient history had always fascinated her, it was somehow fitting that Azure became a creature of legend in the space of an evening. She felt like a demigod!
Her admission to Starlight Academy took place when she was just finishing high school. Now in a larger school, finally with friends, she had set off an artifact in a local museum. A memory stone of some kind, it played the same scene on repeat, like some kind of holographic video loop. This attracted attention of course, swiftly the Academy found her. When offered this refuge, she could not refuse. Her curiosity was far too great. Not only a new and magical place, full of beings with powers like hers, it was also an opportunity to study her mysterious heritage and the land of Atlantis. Unbridled! Unrestricted.
