Ay...

Danica was in a Spanish mood. There was nothing else you could call it. She certainly like Spanish a lot more than English.

She felt like speaking Spanish. Also, she was hungry.

So she went into a little cafe, with cheap stuff on the menu. 99 cents for a hamburger, yay! She pulled a crumpled 5 dollar bill out of her back pocket. Enough for fries and a burger.

Knowing full well that the cashier didn't speak Spanish, Danica said, "Quiero una hamburguesa y unos papas fritas. Tambien el vaso de agua." She smiled as the guy gave her a blank stare.

"Um," he said. "I... er, don't speak spanish. No espanol?"

Danica laughed and smacked herself on the forehead, as if she hadn't realized he spoke English. "I'm sorry. A hamburger and fries, please. And a glass of water."

She waited for a few minutes, handed over the five dollars and stuck the change back in her pocket. She sat down at a small table by herself and ate. "Mmmm, me gusto mucho los papas fritas!" she said to the cashier. "Que buena!"

((My spanish isn't that good, so I may have mixed up "el" and "un" or "la" and "una." Sorry if I did.))

Danica looked up, as a girl walked in. The girl headed over to her table.

She and shook her head when the girl asked if she could sit down. "No. Yo soy Danica. Voy a la Starlight Academy. Y tu?"

Why was she so mean to people? Danica grinned. Oh yeah. 'Cause it's fun.

"'Bonjour?'" Danica rolled her eyes and snorted. "Not the smartest girl, are you? It's okay. I'm sure there are others like you, don't feel alone."

Bonjour? Danica thought. ow can you mix up French and Spanish?

"Em... no. I don't feel like listening to you guess until you hit Chinese, so I'm telling you, Spanish."

She rolled her eyes and popped a fry in her mouth. Salt was good...
