The brunette nodded. The past. It wasn't fun, presumably for either of them. Aswan clearly wasn't buying the fact that he wasn't moping, but decided not to press the matter further. After all - they had a class together. And she could call him Raf. That was a good step to becoming friends, right? She hoped so. Another grin spread across her face, again genuine. "Indeed, we appear to be. It'll be a good chance to work with you."

Raphael didn't notice the way Aswan took his response, thinking that she was convinced enough not to push the topic any further simply because it wasn't a good topic in general. He wouldn't say that part of him felt relieved and thankful for that, but he was. On the brighter side of things, he just earned himself a new friend and that was something to look forward to!

"I'll try not to be a pushover then since I get to be in the same class as you," he said, tone rather smug. Well, now he has one class he shouldn't take too lightly. "But well, you know, I'm really not the best student of the year so can I count on you for help sometimes?"

Aswan chuckled. "What do you mean? Of course I'll help you. After all, wouldn't want you to be a 'pushover'." More teasing. She didn't mean anything of it, of course. Raphael was turning out to be a good friend. One of the many friends she seemed to be making at the Academy.
Finally they had gotten to Music, where Aswan could already feel her eardrums thrumming in time to the beat of the drums and loud instruments inside. Barely any sound was heard from the quiet flutes, one of her favorite instruments aside from the piano. "This is the Music Room," she stated plainly. "I'll take you to my World History classroom, and then - what class do you have last?"

Raphael gave her a bashful smile, one that was a little different from earlier at her reply. This was great! He got a new friend now and she was nice with a sense of humor he could roll with! That was perfect as it is. "Then let me just say, I'm counting on you then," he told her with a decided huff.

When they'd arrived to the music room, there was a class ongoing -- or practice, he couldn't really tell and by the sound of it, there were a lot of things going on in there. He wasn't the best with music either but judging from uneven volumes, it.. wasn't great. "Yeah, this definitely sounds like a Music class alright," he said rather jokingly. "My last one is a Powers class after World History. Say what was your class before that? Maybe we could head to class together a few times?"

Aswan chuckled. "I'll be in your care, I suppose. Although..." She brought up her schedule for today in her mind. There were many other classes (she was taking extras) but... "You have Music before World History... Correct?" If she was right, it would mean she would share Music with him as well.

Raphael laughed along with her, just light enough to keep the class from noticing them outside their door. He wondered for a second if he had any other class in common with her that he might not have nocited -- considering he was either actually paying attention in class or asleep with most of it from migraines or a fever.

In any case, hearing that he did in fact have another class with her brightened his smile even furhter. If his grin wasn't wide enough earlier, it certainly was now. "Two classes right after the other; luck is truly on my side," he said. "Were you the musical type or is it that you're just broadening your knowledge?"

Aswan laughed. "Indeed, luck seems to be on our side. Although it might no be luck, but mere coincidence. Either way, it's a good coincidence." She shrugged. "I supposed music would expand my knowledge and provide a stress outlet. Though, I don't suppose people have flutes lying around nearly as much as they have pianos." A playful grin. "Do you happen to have a flute laying around?"

Raphael wouldn't argue but he liked to think luck was a good factor in all of this. Luck was something he always owed most things to right next to his natural talents of doing everything else. And the kindess of people too. Yes. In any case-- where were they...

"True, true. Pops always told me music's a really good stress outlet but honestly I'm not the very musical type. I throw all my stress into video games," he laughed. "Wouldn't hurt to try music class at least. Aaand no, sorry no flute here," he shrugged, "I do have a saxophone though, Pop's idea. Except I didn't bring it with me. Did you have an instrument of choice?"

"No," replied Aswan with a shake of her head. "I originally played the piano, as most are trained to do, but I abandoned it in favor of my studies." A lithe little chuckle. "It proves my point. Pianos are much more common than flutes, or saxophones." She started to step away from the music room. "As for stress outlets... I usually find writing and, oddly, organization, work very well. For me, of course." And.. She switched the topic on a dime - away from her. "You enjoy video games, correct?"

"I think I brushed past piano after I got through note reading and stuff," Raphael mused aloud. He wasn't really sure, but he wasn't all that dedicated with music to have stayed with piano for long. On the other hand, the saxophone really was his dad's idea. Then again, they did both like their jazz music. "I mean I don't have anything against pianos or anything but sometimes interest goes a long way when it comes to learning extra things like playing music, right? Pops like jazz so that's probably why he thought the sax was a good idea."

Raphael was a step behind from Aswan, still aware she was taking the lead to the next room. He was just that good at being lost on first days. "Anyway, yeah. I'm more of a video games kinda guy. I have a PS4 and a Wii at home and I actually have my PSP with me -- just not bringing it out since I gotta deal with figuring out the school." Curious, he turned a question to her, "So, do you have favorite games? Or genre in general?"
