Mimosa sat on the roof, looking over all the grounds and beyond. The lake shown beautifully in the sunset, even though it was now frozen over.
She was overtaken by thoughts of Judas. They'd just begun their relationship, and she only hoped it would continue. But she was worried...
Judas told her not to, but she couldn't help it. She knew something was troubling him, and as an empath, she was a slave to the emotion of herself and others. Maybe he's trying to protect me because I'm empathic...or maybe he just doesn't want me to know...
Suddenly, she became very aware of someone feeling embarassed behind her. She turned to see a tall skinny boy of her age, or around it. He was kind of dorky looking, but not to the point where he wore his pants to his chin and a pocket protector. She'd seen him before. What was his name? Niel? Nigel...?
"I-I'm s-sorry..." he stammered, "I didn't mean to interrupt y-you. I-I-I'll just leave."
He turned to go, but she called to him. "No, no, it's okay. I'd prefer company. It might get my mind off of things."
She saw the hesitation, and could feel him pulling. He walked towards her, and sat down. "Mimosa Bird," she stated.
"N-Nielle Sole," was his responce.
They sat for a long time, saying nothing. Waiting to see if someone showed up...
