Laetus only shrugged. "Don't worry about it." He told her as he lifted a slice up. "Tis yet another new experience." He said smiling as he took a bite. His smile stuck but one could tell he was holding back a disgusted groan. He swallowed fast and put the slice down.
"Well, I'm stuffed." He said quickly, leaning back in his seat. Was she convinced?

"Liar," Maddie said, totally unconvinced. I mean, she was gullible, but not that gullible. "Let's get something else. I'll pay for it and I'll even make you a mud cake to compensate for your scarring experience."

She changed seats so she could sit beside him. She tried to smooth while doing it, but come on, it's Maddie. She didn't look smooth at all. I shouldn't have to say she even tripped a little when her foot hit the table's leg. How sad.

Laetus shook his head. "I said it was on me. If i didn't wanna risk not liking it, I would have gotten half and half." He paused for a moment, then smirked.
"I will take you up on that cake though. Teach me to make it too and I'll call us even."
He scooted into the booth to make room when she swapped sides. When she sat, he turned to her smiling. "Is that a deal?"

"Yeah. I mean, I'm not the best baker in the world, but I've made this cake hundreds of times. I can even guarantee you'll love it."

With the reassurance that he was okay, Maddie took a slice of pizza and bit into it, humming happily at the taste. The humming was near a moan. It wasn't the best pizza she had ever tasted, but it reminded her of home.

"You make me feel less homesick," she said around a mouthful of pizza. She took the time to swallow it and half-laugh. "I bet that sounded weird. I barely know you, but you're so...together. That didn't make any sense."

Laetus smiled and patted her head. "I get it. Glad I could help... Lots of people seem lost when they first get here. Like I said before, I was born and raised in this kind of world. It can be hard to adjust to. I'm happy I can be here for you."
Seeing he wasn't eating, the waitress brought some bread sticks to the table for them. She quickly waved off his question before he could ask, telling him they were freebies. Laetus smiled and popped one into his mouth. It would quickly disappear bit by bit until it was gone and replaced with the next. This guy can't lie well when it comes to food. He was starving!

Maddie giggled at how quickly he was eating. It made her feel more at ease as she polished off two slices of pizza in what must have been world record time. Shapeshifters ate a lot, okay, that's not like an excuse she got from tween movies or anything. S-Seriously...

She gulped loudly and took a quick sip of Coke when a piece of crust caught in her throat.
"Do you often buy people food? Because if so, I've just found my very best friend in the entire world. Think you can keep that title?"

Laetus stopped and tore off half of what must be his fourth or fifth bread stick and took a sip of his soda before giving a sigh as if he hadn't taken air in the whole time he was eating. Then he finally answered.
"I... suppose so. Never really think about it to be honest. If I'm hungry, I tend to assume the same of those around me." He took another sip, talking with the straw in his mouth. "And if a pizza is all it takes to claim that title, I think I can handle it." He told her with a smirk.

"I'm easy," she said, took a bite of pizza. Stopping wide-eyed, Maddie looked at hi and swallowed hard. "-ly impressed." she tried to correct, hoping he wouldn't notice. Teenager girls were total pervs, 'specially in the presence of college boys.

She finished her third slice of pizza and seemed to have sated herself then, leaning away from the food to stop herself from eating any more of it.

Laetus tilted his head in confusion at the odd staggered way she said that. Was he missing something? He shrugged it off and continued to eat.
After downing another few bread sticks, he stopped, seemingly satisfied for the moment, though he may have simply stopped because she had.

((Lool :pathetic:))

Maddie groaned and held her stomach with one hand. "I think I ate too much." And yet she wanted more. Damn her and her gluttony.

She fell to the side, against his shoulder. "Either your stomach hurts too, or you have a black hole where your stomach should be."
