Jarek stood at the entrance to the courtyard, his thoughts racing as he took in the sights. Maybe this would be better than he thought. Every other daydream lately had been him being shunned by the others or kicked out. "Oh well." He shrugged, adjusting the strap that connected to the duffle bag carrying his belongings. He smiled to himself, wondering when he would be able to meet the others that were like him. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

On a bench situated on the left side of the main walkway was a girl. She didn't seem to care about the beauty of the world around her. Because right now, she was painting her nails. That's right. Beatrice Snoch was painting her nails. Outside. This was really unheard of.

Beatrice had been extra ferocious with all the rain. I mean, what cat likes being cooped inside? It was why she was out here. And her attention was mainly focused on her right pinkie, as she spread the thirty-seven dollar coral nail polish over it.

Her attire today was quite flashy, it being large silver hoops, a brass butterfly beret, a metallic silver tank top matched with white shorts, and silver, strappy shoes. Beatrice could 'never' be caught in anything short of breathtaking. Her eyes shoot up and scan the surrounding area and the people before looking back down at her nails. She did this every minutes or so. She didn't want to be caught off guard by anything.

Jarek walked slowly down the hallway, his even step tapping softly on the floor. He spots a girl doing her nails, and turns toward her, his smile still prevalent. He waves at her to get her attention. "Hello! Miss?" This would be his chance to get a good start on things.

He almost stopped in mid-step upon seeing the girl. Her clothes, the nails she was painting. She was pretty. At least, on the outside. His heart began to beat with a faster tempo.

Beatrice caps the polish and looks up at the boy, her eyes scanning him. She blows casually on her nails to dry them. Her eyebrows raises. "You are..?" she questions, her face turning to a sneer as she overlooks his clothing and his hair.
He seems nice, too. Beatrice. Stoppit. Stop it right now.

With a sigh, she stands and lifts her back, revealing just how short her shorts were. She slips the nail polish into her small, gold purse and overlooks her nails as she waits for a reply.

"I'm Jarek." He smiles warmly, giving a quick wave with his left hand. "I'm, umm.. I'm new here." He looks her over quickly, taking note of her shorts and glancing away quickl,y preoccupying himself with the scenery. "It's a beautiful day, don't you think?" He looks back at her, hoping to strike up a conversation that wouldn't end akwardly.

Beatrice starts to purr as the sun hurts her back, the vibration sounding loud from her throat. Her ears twitch. "Lovely enough to get a tan but not burn. "I'm Beatrice Mariella Snoch. You know my father, Owner of the quadrillion dollar company Glass Co.?" she smirks.

"Anyways, I bet you're new here, so you might want to go in and talk to the happy-go-lucky woman in there somewhere who will happily give you your own little home in this house of freaks." she smiles sickly sweet and walks towards the academy, flipping her hair gently over one should.

Jarek rolls his eyes slightly. "Right. Thanks." He watches her walk away for a moment, then shoulders his dufflebag and continues through the courtyard. "Crazy cat lady, already..."

He heads toward the academy, bouncing on his heels with each step. This won't be so bad at all, will it?
