- Arik remembers very little of his early life, and it troubles him greatly. Disjointed scenes of war and soul-crushing emotions that he does not know the origin of come on at random times. This can cause bouts of depression, anxiety, and irrational anger.
- Arik has always had gifts he never fully comprehended, but for whatever reason they ran rampant. He was cast out of many places as a jinx and as a bad omen by normal society. Having a place that accepts him as "gifted" has helped enormously with his self-esteem, but due to the dangers associated with his power, he has to wear a Nullification Bracelet at all times.

Biography: For as long as he can remember, Arik was an outcast. The other children around him shied away, afraid of him for reasons they never explained. He took this to heart and withdrew, doing his best to stay clear of anyone who he might upset or harm.
He grew up near the Ocean, in the state of Virginia. The culture around him placed great importance on social groups and events, so being ostracized had a negative impact on Arik. Rumors traveled quickly as more people came into contact with him, or heard from their peers to stay away. The boy who brought tragedy and despair wherever he went- there was something more to it, and the scouts knew that immediately when they started following their new lead.
Upon verification of his strange ability and the inability to control it, they moved swiftly. Contain a potentially dangerous person, but also and probably more important- help him turn that power into strength, and lead a normal life.
Now, he is doing his best to explore both his powers and his memories, in hopes of learning the truth about himself.
