Phillip gazed as the world flew by him on his bus ride. It wasn't like he was sad; after all, he and his parents were somewhat distant. He smushed his face against the window and saw skyscrapers and buildings comprised almost entirely of glass.
"Woah... so cool!" Phillip exclaimed in awe. The world around him seemed so modern and strange compared to his old home. After spending hours with his face pressed against the window, he got bored. He sat staring into blank space until he realized that he had no means of paying his bus fare. Lucky for him, the bus driver kicked him out for accidentally setting the carpet on fire while he was scrounging for money.
Phillip walked the rest of the way, which luckily wasn't a very long distance. More and more buildings seemed to float past him. He noticed that the buildings became more and more...shady. Phillip quickened his pace but kept going. He finally stumbled upon a building that seemed unattended to. One of the lights in the building was flickering on and off. There were definitely ghosts in there, Phillip was sure of it. The address illegible to read, so he approached an elderly man on the bench. The man backed away from him a little bit, but that didn't stop Phillip.
"Hi! Is this the apartment complex?" Phillip asked.
"Oh, why, yes it is!" the man replied. He became more relaxed knowing that Phillip did not mean any harm because his eery appearance made it look like he was a typical resident.
"Thank you old man!" Phillip replied cheerfully, and flashed a crooked grin as he ran up the stairs. The door creaked as it opened and Phillip recklessly ran up the stairs to the third floor. The elevator was vacant, but Phillip thought that ghosts would fly out if he went inside. He finally arrived at his destination. Phillip took a deep breath and knocked on the second door to the elevator. @Ballerina
