It was a deal then, and Ebvion was bound by it. That was what Zizi knew about fae. She hadn't expected the child to agree so easily, deals were a pretty big deal for fae usually, but suppose Ebvion was curious enough to hear about their dad that they didn't care. Yet again a bit disappointing, but Zizi was looking forward to Ebvion's reaction.

"I will choose what to call you later. I am Zizi, short for Ziztig'Yacniggoxr. Or call me mommy or daddy or whichever you prefer. Names hold little meaning to me."
Zizi grinned, let out a laugh, stood up straight and took a step back. She observed Ebvion's reactions, hoped they wouldn't disappoint. If Ebvion really was half Zizi then they should be entertaining at least to some degree.

Annoyance flashed across Ebvion's face. She would choose what she would call them? How dare she—

But the woman, now known as Zizi, continued. The dots didn't connect for Ebvion at first. Why would they call this strange woman their mommy or daddy? It took only a couple of seconds for them to figure out. Her hair was pink! That must have been a sign. A sign that this person was their daddy. Or... mommy?

Now Ebvion let themself look to Celeste for help. What were they supposed to do with this information? They looked back at Zizi. Anxiety, excitement, and confusion intermingled on their face. "Do I... Do I have to live with you?" they finally asked. "No! What if you're lying? Give me proof. You act... tricky..."

Celeste had been watching the interaction closely between Ebviony and the stranger. She did not care for her child talking to adult strangers, but had refrained a little, not letting her overprotective and motherly instincts jump to conclusions.

She knew Ebviony liked to talk to people, and so had quietly sat observing, But now, seeing Ebviony glance her way, and the distinctive change in body language, made Celeste get up from her seat and walk over to Ebviony... who she promptly scooped up, not liking whatever was happening here.

"Are you okay?" she said to Ebviony.

The child's reaction was entertaining for sure, maybe a bit slow but that just meant Zizi could watch the show on its face. First came annoyance, or perhaps anger, followed by confusion and then realization. And that realization looked like a chaos of emotion, very amusing to watch, and Zizi had to hold back an amused, wicked smile. Because she had seen the child glancing to the side, perhaps requesting assistance from a guardian. And Zizi didn't want to seem too suspicious.

"Live with me?"
Zizi held back laughter, this child was going to a very wrong direction. Was it not intelligent? There was no possible way for it to be given to Zizi, when her resources were not adequate enough and they shared no link beyond the essence that Zizi had given to the child's creator.
"Tricky I am, but are you not too? You are half of me and half of that woman, it is in your veins. So find the proof yourself."
Zizi said, her last quiet words between just her and the child before the other woman came. Probably this child's guardian, the one it had been signaling for help. The child was taken into an embrace, and Zizi took a step back, although she hadn't been too close to begin with. Now, how to handle this...?

This was one of the few times where Ebvion was happy to be held safely in their adoptive mother's arms. Zizi's words repeated inside of Ebvion's head. Good, they would not have to live with her. She was weird. Discomforting. And Ebvion was tricky. Any good fae ruler would be. So they should be able to figure out Zizi's motives easily. What motive would she have for lying to Ebvion? Because she thought it was fun? Yet she knew stuff she wouldn't have known if she wasn't their dad...

Ah, right, they had to reply to Ms. Forestier. They had been quiet for several seconds as they processed Zizi and everything she embodied. "I'm okay... Um... She says she's my dad." Now that Ebvion thought about it, this was their first deal. So far, they seemed to be doing fine. All they had to do was not reveal her name.

Celeste held Ebviony securely, her motherly instincts and the witch in her sensed something here was not right.

"Your father?" she said, now clearly suspicious as she regarded the other woman guardedly as she reached for her cell phone to call Roldan. Celeste's instincts were now in overdrive, she instinctively knew that this person had to be bad news. Probably a child molester or some sort of pervert. Who else would approach small children in parks with these sort of stories?

"I have no idea, sweetheart," Celeste said as calmly and reassuringly as possible. "But if they are who they say they are, they can go to through the legal channels and prove it," she said, clearly not about to deal with this here in public. If one thing she had learned from her father was, let the laws and lawyers decide with things that sounded shady.

The guardian seemed protective, and although Zizi had now took on a very convincing startled and concerned and regretful expression, in her mind she was amused. This woman wasn't this child's parent by blood, Zizi had never understood the point of caring for something that was connected to you via nothing more than something as flimsy as feelings. Well, caring in general was amusing for Zizi. Especially when it came to this child, it must've been hard to handle. It was the creation of that woman and Zizi's magic was used in it.

"Please don't be alarmed, I didn't mean to shock your child, I'm sorry."
Zizi began, holding her hands up as a sign that she wasn't a threat. Well, she was a threat, but Zizi was doing a very good job at looking innocent, she had several millennia of practice behind her.
"Please let me explain. I was just walking by, and your child's soul, it looked very similar to mine. I couldn't help but stop and stare, forgive me, I must've seemed very suspicious and I even gave your child a wrong idea. I should've acted with more tactfulness."
Zizi did her damn best to seem humble, and she lowered her head a bit in regret and as an apology. In her mind Zizi wondered if this would at least stop the woman from calling the police, that would be enough. Having the cops on her tail would be such a pain and Zizi would have to probably change a body, and that would be an even bigger pain.
Although...Zizi did enjoy observing how law enforcement tried to catch her and never could. It was very amusing. But she wasn't in a position currently where she could enjoy that entertainment.

Ebvion wasn't sure how the "legal channels" would prove that this person was their father. They weren't sure what "legal channels" indicated at all, other than being a much higher authority than Celeste. The islets were part of those channels, as were the police and some other things Ebvion learned about.

It was disgusting to see Zizi lower her head and explain herself in a pitiful manner. To get herself into a situation where this was necessary was pathetic. But Ebvion couldn't let her get in trouble. She had information they needed.

"I'm not scared. I don't think she'll hurt me. I was... confused," they said as a way to explain their earlier glances to Celeste. "She knows stuff Daddy would know. I don't want her in trouble."

Celeste narrowed her gaze somewhat, still extremely suspicious of the woman's intentions and tightened her grip protectively on Ebviony. She did not trust the stranger. As a witch and a teacher, who had seen a lot over the years, she knew there were many ways to read or glean information about others and use this to deceive people. And right now, Celeste felt uneasy and was not about to let her guard down despite Ebvion's assurances.

"I cannot promise you that," Celeste told Ebviony with firm gentleness as she shot Zizi furtive glances, deciding that no matter what she was going to tell Roldan about this when they got home.

"Besides, I do not think it's a good idea to be talking to people who claim such things. It is very easy to use magic or other abilities to trick people into trusting them..." she replied as she looked at Zizi pointedly, sensing that was what the woman was doing.

The child was smart enough to try and make its guardian's suspiciouns clear.. After all, it probably wanted to know more and that wouldn't work if Zizi became a wanted fugitive. But naturally that wouldn't work, even if Zizi couldn't understand why this woman was so attached to this child maternal instinct was a strong one. The woman would most likely never stop distrusting Zizi, and Zizi could not care less even if she did. And even if the child was most likely much older than its guardian the woman would not be convinced by its words. After all, it was a child.

Zizi analyzed, that it was most probably better if Zizi merely left the scene, and didn't meddle with this child and woman from now on. After all, she had no interest in this child at the moment. If it truly was as old as Zizi suspected and still in the form of a child that meant it didn't age and that meant it was worthless when it came to possession. Children didn't make good vessels for longer periods of time. It was a shame.
"I didn't use abilities or any such things, I swear. Although in this situation my word is not trustworthy."
The woman wasn't talking directly at Zizi, and she found it amusing. She almost wanted to taunt the woman, make her more paranoid and suspicious. But Zizi had no time or enough interest for such games.
"I will never bother you again, I'm sorry for interrupting your day."
With that Zizi, after apologizing few more times humbly, backed away and began walking away. It was good Zizi didn't move much in this part of the town, that women and the child truly wouldn't see her again unless Zizi willed it.
