Victoria entered the bookstore, and the warm, crisp scent of old books and new mixing together greeted her. She had been looking around the city all day for possible part-time job opportunities. None of the stores had 'hiring now' signs up, so she decided just to try and ask a few. She had gone to the Butcher's Shop already, but there's nothing wrong with asking more than one shop for work, is there?
She had always wanted a part-time job so that she could give the money to Gran back at the orphanage in Idaho Springs, since they've been really needing it recently. And Gran had devoted her whole life to the kids, so Victoria wanted to give something nice back to the aging lady.
Victoria looked around, and all she could see were books. Well, what did she expect? This was a bookstore. She liked reading, but only fiction novels. She hated reading those thick text books they made you read in school. She slowly walked up to the counter, looking for the owner of the store.
