Aodh is of normal height and reaches 181cm(5.9ft) with his head attached. His body is slender but decently muscular and he keeps in shape by running. Aodh has big palms and long fingers.
Aodh’s legs are long compared to his torso and he has narrow hips and wide, muscular shoulders.
Aodh’s skin is pale and has a slight tint of gold.

Aodh's facial features are rugged to say the least. He has a wide, square-ish jawline, long straight nose and high, sharp cheekbones. His mouth is wide and has full upper lip and little thinner lower lip. Aodh has a little downturned, hooded eyes that make him look sleepy. His eyes are different coloured, the right one being bright red and the left one being black. When Aodh uses his powers the red eye starts to glow.

Aodh’s hair is straight and red like fire and it has different shades of red mixed in it so it even looks like fire. He keeps it long, when the head is attached it reaches his upper back, and usually ties it up in a bun. He usually has a goatee.

As clothing Aodh prefers comfort over style and his clothes are usually long, light and soft. He usually wears worn jeans or harem pants, long tank tops that reach his hips or upper thighs and cardigans. The colour palette in his wardrobe ranges from shades of green to red and basic blacks and whites.
His enchanted scarf is orange and super long. He has to wrap it around his shoulders four or five times to make it wearable.

Aodh is a man of few words, an introvert and awkward. Though his eyes make him look sleepy and his movements are sluggish, almost tired, he often has a sharp look in his eyes. When he speaks he speaks with short sentences and avoids making the conversation too long. But if you stop and observe you’ll notice Aodh is always careful not to be excessively insulting and he only speaks his own honest opinion.

It’s easy to approach Aodh since he won't technically refuse anyone's company but actually having a conversation with him is a different issue. It requires some patience and stubbornness to actually befriend Aodh. But if you succeed in breaking through his tough core you’ll find a kind, wise soul who loves animals and cares deeply for those who he dares to love.

Aodh created a shell and retreated in it when his family died. He is still the same person inside, selfless, sweet, a bit stoic and a smartass, but now he is scared of losing people dear to him again. The wound inside him is and probably will always be sore and Aodh is afraid of trying to move on.

Aodh is grumpy almost always except when he’s with Dulla or animals in general. He’s a natural animal handler and when Aodh is tending to an animal he’s a completely different person. There’s a soft look in his eyes, his hands are gentle and voice soothing. He can ever crack a smile. He's the same way with the people he cares about the most.

Aodh is better with people when he can be alone with someone. In groups he shuts up and reads or just listens but he gets braver in one-on-one conversations.

Aodh is not a morning person and usually his dog Dulla has to drag him out of bed. Aodh is also otherwise pretty lazy if he's not interested or motivated to do something. If you want him to get interested you need to annoy or dare him to it because Aodh is stubborn, proud and will not give up once he has started something. Or then just compliment Dulla. Aodh loves Dulla.

Aodh gets annoyed and frustrated easily but it takes a bit more to make him angry. And when he’s angry his eyes spark and he looks like the Grim Reaper itself. And the only thing that usually calms his anger is a genuine apology or Dulla's whining. But he will not harm anyone if they don't deserve it, and not often even then.

Dulla often acts as a balancing act to Aodh's grumpy personality with her cheeriness and empathy. Aodh depends on Dulla a lot and the other way around. Dulla is also responsible for most of Aodh's few interactions with people and she acts as a bridge for Aodh. Because Aodh, though he doesn't have to talk out loud, often chats with Dulla and that's how Dulla knows he's lonely. Dulla wants to give Aodh his smile back and only other people can do that for him, not her.

Aodh is a dullahan and his head is separate from his body. His body basically has a hole where the neck should start and red flames spew from that hole. It looks like someone lit a small fire there. The flames don’t burn anything and are cold to the touch. There’s a long neck on Aodh’s head and it’s possible to attach the head to the body temporarily with magic. Aodh has an enchanted scarf that allows him to keep the head attached for three days at most. The scarf works even if it’s loose and it doesn’t have to touch the seam where head and body are attached. It just has to touch Aodh’s skin. Using the scarf makes Aodh's neck stiff and sometimes he has to take off his head for a second.
Aodh also has a pouch made of soft leather where he carries his head when he’s not using his scarf. Aodh can see through the leather and so he rather likes going along for the ride most of the time.

-Longevity: Dullahans are extremely long-lived and can live up to between 2000 and 3000 years. But as a backlash it's very hard for dullahans to have children.

-Clairvoyance, Spirit and See-Through Sight: By lifting his head up high and activating his clairvoyance power Aodh can see miles away clearly. He can only look at one direction at a time and his view must be free of any big obstacles, like buildings. If his gaze is blocked by a building he can only see things between him and that building, not beyond even if his clairvoyance could reach further.
After using this power Aodh gets a huge headache for an hour or so and he can’t see with his right eye during that time. Aodh has amazing eye sight as it is and he has night vision and can see spirits of the deceased. With some concentration he can see through thin surfaces, like fabric and blackened glass. But the surface has to be right in front of him.

-Power Shout: If Aodh locks eyes with someone and yells their name out loud he can make the person freeze where they stand. When the person is frozen Aodh can’t break eye contact with them or the effect disappears. This powers’ time limit is three minutes and afterwards Aodh gets weak and can’t run.

-Reaper: If you look into Aodh’s left eye and he uses this power you can see how you die from first-person point of view. It can be pretty traumatizing and Aodh doesn’t like using this power.
After using this power Aodh can’t see from his left eye for a few hours.

-Gold Allergy: Aodh is repelled by gold and just by holding and object made of it in front of him is enough to make him nauseous and blur his sight. If gold touches him it gives him immediate first and second degree burns.

-Guardian: Once in their lives dullahans can choose a guardian animal to share a part of their power with. The guardian will follow them forever and protect them with their whole being. Usually dullahans pick a horse but Aodh shared his power with his Irish wolfhound Dulla. Dulla has the powers of longevity, fire breath, longer teeth and claws and strong physical strength. She also grew in size and now her shoulders are on the same level as Aodh’s waist.
-Telepathic link: Aodh has a telepathic link with Dulla and it's range is several miles.

-Hellfire Spear: Aodh was gifted a magical weapon when he turned 15, a spear that’s formed completely of black and red flames. The weapon takes the form that best suits it’s master and with Aodh it was spear. This weapon is the reason why there’s fire where Aodh’s head would usually be. He stores the weapon inside his body. The scythe is a bit taller than him and it has a long, curving blade almost as long as one of Aodh’s arms. It’s similar to naginata. The spear doesn’t cut flesh if Aodh doesn’t will it but it can cut soul, aura and even life itself. The spear is an heirloom and it has been used by the dullahan’s in Aodh’s family for generation, mainly for ending the lives that are supposed to end and collecting their energy.
-Soul Collector: If a soul is cut with this spear then the energy from the soul passes through the weapon to Aodh and gives him more spiritual strength. Cutting a soul can severely mentally disable the one cut and it's almost impossible to heal a cut soul. This is why Aodh has never cut anyone's soul and never will if he can help it.
Person with strong will and bravery can lessen the effect of their soul being cut by simply staying firm and not being afraid and the effect can also be blocked by magic. But if the person is already close to death they can’t fight against it.

-Foresight: This is a lost ability among the dullahans and currently Aodh is the only one known to have it. Aodh can see when a person is close to death when he looks through a loop he forms with his thumb and forefinger. If he does it with his right eye he can see how the person is going to die and with left eye when. This ability only works with people who are going to die within a month or sooner. In the ancient times this ability was how dullahans knew whose soul to take.

Aodh was born in Ireland, in the countryside near a town of 400000 people. His family came from a long line of dullahans and both of Aodh’s parents were also dullahans. Aodh was loved and very much in touch with his heritage right from the start and he was proud to be a dullahan. And when his family found out that he had the long lost ability of Foresight they adored him even more.

Aodh had a happy childhood and he was spoiled rotten. It’s hard for dullahans to procreate and so Aodh was the only child in his family. The closest person to his age was his cousin and she was almost 20 years older than him. So Aodh, who had an introverted personality to begin with, learned to enjoy solitude and entertain himself. He got his dog Dulla when he turned 7 and they became inseparable.

Though Aodh was spoiled he was a kind, selfless child who was always dragging injured animals home with Dulla and nursing them back to health. His dream of becoming a vet started in his childhood as well.
Aodh’s family lived in a huge manor outside of town, surrounded by a big plot of land. In the same house with Aodh and his parents lived his grandparents from mother’s and father’s side, two uncles and three aunts with their spouses and multiple cousins. Aodh was close to everyone in his family and they were very close-knit.

Their family was wealthy and they were landowners and rented plots for private use. In the ancient times their family were the dullahans who reaped the souls in the whole region.
Aodh’s family was respected in the region but also feared, because there were a lot of rumours going around about them having stables full of black horses with red eyes or keeping hellhounds on the property. The truth was, their stable was full of those horses but they were their family’s guardians. And the hellhounds were just normal dogs, not even guard dogs. Aodh’s family loved animals and they had the house full of cats, dogs, birds and other such critters.

Aodh was home-schooled through elementary school and he learned all the normal school subjects and he was also trained in power control. Aodh didn’t get to go out much until he learned enough precaution to go out in the public. They taught him how to avoid coming to contact with gold, what to do in unexpected situations and so on. And finally Aodh got to got to middle school in the town.
Aodh was an intelligent individual and prone to be a smartass so he didn’t get many friends. He had a couple of close friends and they were enough to teach Aodh basic human interaction. Of course people wondered why Aodh always wore a scarf or were intimidated by his family but he survived middle school without greater bumps.

Aodh got to choose his guardian when he was 13 and to everyone’s surprise he chose his dog Dulla. Dulla was also surprised when Aodh shared his power with her and she suddenly changed from grey to pitch black, grew bigger and had longer teeth and claws and could run really fast. Aodh was overjoyed and in the end so was Dulla. After all, now she could spend a longer time with her master.

Aodh’s family wanted him to have a peaceful life and that’s why they didn’t tell him about the growing restlessness among the townspeople. People were talking how they’d seen one of the Driscolls wandering around without a head. In fact, one kf Aodh’s cousins had been drinking one night and accidentally dropped his head when on his way home. Aodh’s family was losing their wealth fast when people terminated their contacts with them.

But Aodh had just turned 15 and he was gifted with his family’s heirloom weapon, The Hellfire. Aodh was taught how to use it responsibly and how to cut flesh, life and soul all at the same time and one at a time. All the while he didn’t know about the cuts to the budget and attempts to save money.
Aodh was due to go to Starlight Academy when he graduated high school. And he did, but few months before his graduation something horrifying happened.
His family manor caught fire and burned everyone inside, the animals included. Aodh was having a party at his friend’s place and was alarmed by the sound of Dulla howling out in the street. He looked out of the window and saw a huge cloud of smoke rising from the manor. Immediately Aodh went home riding Dulla and saw his home and whole family go down in flames.
And he also saw some villagers leaving the property with empty fuel canisters with his clairvoyance.

Aodh, enraged by what they had done, lost his senses and rode to the men on Dulla, killing them for what they did. By questioning one of the men he learned that the arson was planned by the town council in order to purge the dullahans. Aodh, still lost in his rage and sadness and not knowing what he was doing, attacked the village. People are still telling horror stories about that night, about a dullahan with a spear of flames on a fire spewing hellhound spreading chaos around the town, killing everyone on sight.
Aodh did go crazy in the town, caused a big fire and broke a lot of public and private property but he never killed anyone but the men who set the fire.

An agent of the academy happened to be in town already, his mission was to take Aodh to the island few weeks from then. But instead he had to stop the rampaging Aodh and call for the proper authorities to settle the mess he had caused.
It didn’t take long for Aodh to calm down, especially when Dulla was whining and barking miserably, and when he regained his senses he was in the middle of a burnt town, surrounded by people ready to restrain him. He realized what he had done, wanted to apologize. Instead he lost conciousness.

After that night Aodh couldn’t see for a while and after he was shipped to the island he had to go through some therapy and tests to see, if he was in proper shape to attend university. Aodh would've graduated high school with top grades so he easily got in to study veterinary medicine.
His family’s murder was treated as a group suicide since they had been losing their wealth and hearing that almost made Aodh go to another rampage.
Now he has been at the academy for almost a year and has been able to heal a bit. But he is still hurt and who can blame him. He lost everything during one night. Now he only wants to fulfill his dream of becoming a vet and heal from the loss he experienced.
