Zienna would have expected nothing less from the girl. She was tough, she got around, and was brash as she was charismatic. Who wouldn't fall for such a thorned flower? "At least the majority of towns I've been in. And perhaps to tease that idea of yours of heaven, 'decency' has a lot looser definition there. After all, when you sculpt your body to be as battle-ready as the Daughters, it's only natural to let the world see." Her last sentence left a bittersweet aftertaste on her tongue, one that was relieved by the wash of the watermelon vodka. Perhaps the only time she liked it so far. "Russia has an interesting image on the Internet, and movies. Tough people, the leader's a military man with an intense stare and disposition, crazy stunts caught on dashcams. Even saw that shaky video of a kid caught flying in a forested area. Are all you Russians as tough as I come expect?"

Mes sounded better and better the more Zienna talked about it, and Rada began thinking that visiting the place wouldn't be half bad. But right when she thought that Rada realized that at this rate she would never be able to. Rada could feel her mood sinking, but she fought it back and didn't let the dark thoughts take over. She would be damned before she let them take over.
"And the world thanks, I bet."
Rada said, and smirked, but this time it didn't quite reach her eyes. Some of the darkness had seeped in them.

Rada was well aware of the image that Russia was given in the media, and in all honesty she didn't have the knowledge to debunk it. When in Russia Rada had led a very sheltered pack life, and she hadn't had an opportunity to get to know the true Russia outside the small town that the Volkov pack inhabited. So when Zienna presented her question Rada wasn't certain how to answer at first.
"When you live in a place like Russia you have to be tough. Or you get pushed to the ground and eaten alive either by life or your peers."
Rada answered with confidence in her tone, but she wasn't certain if she was talking about Russia, or the manor Rada had grown up in. Perhaps both, but one thing was for certain. Rada imagined that Zienna could, on some level, relate to what she was saying.
Or perhaps Rada just wanted to believe that there was someone out there she could touch that could relate.

"If they knew how restrictive the rules here are, I'm pretty sure they would be thankful." Zienna herself at first disliked how covered up she was. But the suits grew on her. She could have gone with a few different choices, ones less restrictive while adhering to the laws on public decency, but as she browsed how the people here dressed, well, she fell in love with the look she had now. It complemented her intense nature. At least when she was capable of looking intense. That image was probably harmed thanks to her constant visits to the bar. "Hah... so life there is ruthless, that what you're saying?" Zienna chuckled. "Suppose Mes is similar, if you're born in the wrong family. I knew a girl who was born into servitude. Tried running, got beaten. Disappeared just before we left the city to get home." She smirked a little before taking a huge gulp. "Pretty sure she got out though." Zienna looked at her bandaged hand and tried to form a fist, relaxed, and repeated about two more times. "Treatments here are pretty good. Can't feel as much pain as before."

"Life finds a way to be ruthless no matter where you're born to, it's just a matter of how you see it that makes the difference."
In a way Rada had been born into ideal situation. The daughter of a rich family, a life in a large luxurious mansion and with just the snap of her finger Rada could get anything, or anyone. But Rada hadn't seen it that way, it had been a prison and not paradise. So maybe it was her fault that she was struggling now. But hey, Rada had never been one to make things easy for herself.
"Although being born a servant must really make it hard to see the bright side."
Rada added, not in a mocking tone, since Zienna didn't tell that story to be funny. That girl, and probably many other people, must've been bothering Zienna. She probably carried a lot of fates on her shoulders, and lamented each one she couldn't help or save.
"If you think she was crafty enough to get out then I don't doubt she did. At this point I've learned to trust your judgment."

As Zienna flexed her hand Rada's eyes shifted to it as well, the bandages didn't have traces of blood and Rada could smell that the wound wasn't bleeding. That was good.
"Pain is good when it's proof of the fact that you've become stronger. And in a way that wound is a mark of that, wouldn't you say?"
Rada said, partly to herself, while looking at Zienna's hand. Then she looked back at the woman and smiled.
"Well, it's also a mark of my temporary position as a therapist. So heal it quickly so I can become something else."
Rada snickered a bit, and grabbed a towel to wipe away a spill made by another customer.

Life finds a way to be ruthless. Wise words. She couldn't think of a situation where that would be wrong. It was just how things were. Zienna spoke with the servant girl a couple of times. Her environment wasn't ideal for her complexion, but she was fighting it. Zienna knew she saw bright sides to her situation. "You? Trusting my judgement? I believe there's a saying that goes, 'You're betting on the wrong horse', isn't there?" she chuckled. "But yes, in this case, betting on me is a good choice." Zienna smiled at Rada. "And so, you admit that you are indeed the therapist here. Well, not to worry, by tomorrow my hand would be all healed if the doctor was being truthful. Could start fighting in the pit. Heard there was another tournament."

"I also trust my own judgment, so just shut up and accept my trust. Because if you judge wrong then don't worry, I'll adjust accordingly."
Rada said right back with a grin.

"Didn't you want that? And even if I admit it I still don't think I should do it. Which is why I want to be something else. I'll take even acquaintance at this point, though I'd prefer friend."
Rada sighed and with one swift swipe took care of the spill. The towel went back under the counter and Rada walked back over to Zienna, leaning on the counter.
"And if that pit you're talking about is illegal then I suggest not talking about it here, don't want any unsavory rumours circling in our respectable establishment."
That part Rada said with a normal voice, but in truth the talk about the pit intrigued her. Rada sat back down and leaned closer, lowering her voice a bit so that even the patrons with very sharp hearing wouldn't hear.
"But say one was interested in said tournaments, where should they go in order to see them?"
It was probably futile to even ask, since Rada almost constantly had her babysitter to worry about. But there was no harm in asking, since perhaps some day Rada could actually move around without her babysitter. Hopefully.

Zienna chuckled again as she drank. "I don't believe it's dubious," she replied, her volume lowered to match Rada's. "Oh, I heard from a friend who knew one of the bouncers that it's in the Red Light District. I'm sure you've been down those streets, haven't you?" Zienna flexed her hand again, getting a few joints to crackle. Well, she has part of her grip restored. "Heard it was made to help people with a warrior's way of life to... express themselves in the safety of a ring, instead of out in open civilization. Does that interest you?"

"I would be offended if you thought I haven't been there."
Rada commented with a snicker on Zienna's words about the Red Light district. Naturally Rada had been there, but probably fewer times than Zienna imagined. Rada could only go there when she slipped away from her babysitter, usually she picked people up in normal bars or in this very bar. Although the latter Rada did less because she didn't want her one-night stands to know where they could find her. Wouldn't want anyone catching feelings.

"Interesting philosophy they got there."
Rada hadn't heard about this ring before, and that was strange, considering her boxing gym was probably full of people that would love to take part in something like that.
"I can't say it doesn't. Watching two strong people duke it out in the pit sounds like good entertainment. And being in the pit sounds even better."
Rada answered Zienna's question, Rada liked fighting but rather than fighting just for the sake of quenching her bloodlust Rada liked improving and honing her skills and seeing how well she did against stronger opponents. Rada wasn't afraid of losing, she was afraid of getting stagnated.

Zienna would have teased Rada if she said she's never been there. Surely, a girl like her would have had a nice night out in those sinful streets. "Well maybe you'll want to join me in seeing what they have to offer? A little curious on the whole thing myself. See how ruthless or constricting the fights may be. Doesn't sound too bad, does it? Plus, we'd need to reserve a seat for you." She had been there a few times already, and she hints that in the slightest inflection of her voice.

As Rada had suspected the woman would do Zienna offered to take her, but Rada didn't give an answer right away. Instead she quickly glanced over at the booth, where her babysitter was. He was in the middle of a phone call, speaking Russian in a soft and quiet voice. But Rada could tell from how his body was positioned that he was alert and focused on Rada. Rada wanted to sigh and perhaps refuse, but she killed those kinds of thoughts immediately. Hell, if she wanted to go watch the tournament then she should find a way to do just that.

"You know what, I'm going to sleep on it and call you tomorrow."
Rada suggested after a moment of thoughtful silence, her voice still quieter than usual. She needed some time to figure out how to get the babysitter off her back.
"But if you really do insist on bringing me I have a condition."
Rada smiled mischievously and pulled back, standing up and looking down at Zienna with determination.
