As for your chat problem, it seems you need to update your javascript, or if you have adblocker you might need to allow popups on SA for the chat to work.

If you're on a school computer, they might have just blocked the site. Updating your javascript on your computer is as easy as googling Java, going to the main website, and downloading the latest update. Java is basically used in all flashscripts and real-time stuff and websites.
