((OOC: It's your call how broken the violin is... also, I hope you don't mind that I godmodded someone who fits Sabrie's description walking in at the end of my post... if it is a problem, it can be another customer~))

"Will that be all for you today?" The small teen punched some of the buttons in the cash register. Thankfully, this piece of technology was far more accessible than the ones he had to use for classes, so it felt less odd to feel the electronics beneath his fingers.

"Uhm..." the young woman began, her gaze darting around the store, then finally making its way back to the rather beaten up violin in the cashier's hands. "When can I get this back? It's kinda important and..."

Elisha nodded, his own glance switching to the schedule on the back wall, then back to the customer. Sabriel was supposed to be in soon, and according to Lily, the store manager, she was more than competent at fixing instruments. The half-elf frowned slightly. He'd never met the new worker yet, but if she'd earned Lily's praise, then that had to mean something.

He turned back to the customer. "Your violin is in quite a bit of disrepair, it seems." A quick survey told him that it would probably take at least a few days, if not a week or two, to repair. "I can give you a better estimate on time tomorrow, but do not expect the work to be done before the weekend." As soon as he'd said that, he could feel a wave of disappointment and something else... frustration, perhaps, wash over him.

He was so caught up in talking to the customer that he did not even realise that the door opened and a young woman, probably in her mid-twenties, walked into the store.

Ooc; Not a problem at all, don’t worry ^_^
I'm sorry if this is a little rough. I haven't role played in quite a while, and never with this character before. I promise it'll get better as we go along!

Sabrie frowned as she walked down the side walk. Her first day at a new job just had to be ungodly humid, didn’t it? Surely her hair would be a frizzy mess by the time she arrived at work—and while Sabrie was not particularly vain or appearance obsessed, she would rather make a good first impression than a bad one. Walking into work with an afro was not exactly the sort of impression she intended.

Fortunately, however, her reflection in the glass before she opened the door didn’t look quite that bad. She could relax, at least, about that point.

That violin on the counter, however… That did look terrible. What a shame! It must have been old or very badly treated.

And although she had never met the young man behind the counter, he did, at first glance, look a little put out by the customer—if she had to guess, anyway.

“"I can give you a better estimate on time tomorrow, but do not expect the work to be done before the weekend."

“that really depends on whether or not the required parts are available, now doesn’t it? I wonder.” She spoke mostly to herself, not loud enough for the other two to hear. Already in her head she was trying to think of ways to go about with the repair—although, she supposed, she should probably say hello first. First impressions after all.

"But..." The customer looked clearly upset. Elisha made a couple of notes on a sticky note, then stuck it to the cash register. Although he was used to dealing with customers, he'd much rather be organizing sheet music or helping with classes, but today was guitar, so it was his job to man the front desk.

As the young woman walked in, he could've sworn he heard her mutter something (or perhaps it was in his head), but he was too focused on the customer to make out what had been said. He gently picked up the violin, taking great care not to break it anymore, then he placed it in its case. The poor thing had probably either been left in the hands of a small child or otherwise abused.

The slightest hint of a sigh escaped his lips. "Our technician is due to arrive any moment, so if you would like to wait for her, she may be able to give you a better estimate." He glanced quickly at the young woman. Unlike many others who entered here, she seemed neither lost nor confused, just preoccupied with thought. Not only would delving too much deeper than that be rude, but Elisha didn't have the focus to attempt a probe. Where were his manners? "Welcome to Sonorus. How may I help you today?" His own voice seemed a bit quicker than normal, perhaps impatient from the customer, but courtesy was a must.

Sabrie smiled, "I can probably be of more help to you, actually." She stepped a little bit closer to the counter in order to get a better look at the instrument, "You see, I'm the new technician. My specialties are piano's and string instruments, mainly, so..."

She thought for a moment, "Given the state of the violin, which is particularly horrendous, I would say... I can fix that in few hours depending on what equipment is here and what would need to be ordered... New strings, new rift.... Cleaning, polishing... Maybe, if the rest of the work load isn't too heavy at the moment."

It wasn't clear whether she was talking to them or to herself, but as soon as she realized she was rambling aloud she stopped short and put on another smile.

"I'm Sabriel Blythe, pleasure to meet you. I can maybep/i] repair this instrument in a few days, if you'd like to leave a phone number I could get back to you with the exact time for sure later this afternoon after I've had a chance to fully assess the violin's condition..."

Never mind how she would find the time, the customer didn't need to know that. She was fairly familiar with how to repair an instrument, by no means a master at the trade, but educated and dedicated at least. It helped a bit hat she actually played the instruments she could repair, but even if she didn't she could likely figure it out as long as she took the time...

ooc; apparently she talks a lot. Oh the joys of a new character. I had her pinned for the quiet type.

The boy's eyebrow arched at the technician's talkativeness, but he resolved to have faith in his boss's choices. She seemed to be competent enough, though he was glad her job was not to handle customers. The young woman seemed a bit taken aback by Sabriel's sudden entrance, but nothing too unusual there. She quickly mumbled a phone number and Elisha was careful to jot it down. Once the customer left, he turned back to the technician.

"Ah, it is nice to meet you. I'm Elisha." Given the current lack of customers, he circled around and hovered to the other side of the desk. "We're pretty quiet here earlier in the week; most customers come on the weekends, so you should have plenty of time to fix the violin." He eyed the poor instrument doubtfully. He knew enough to clean, replace strings, tune and polish, but that was about it, and this piece needed a lot more work than that. "Since it's pretty quiet, want me to show you around the store?" He was still hovering, his feet about four inches off the ground, so he could easily make eye contact with Sabriel.
