Immortal Brew's 'n Spirits, a spacious and very modern industrial-style microbrewery that focused on creating craft beers made from whiskey and other spirits like gin and vodka, had finally - after much rumor and speculation - opened its doors to the public with a grand opening celebration.

The first two hours were dedicated to the who's who of Manta Carlos, and focused on serving up a sample tasting of selected beers paired a tasting menu for each brew. This allowed invited guests to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere as they were greeted individually by Mathos who often took the time to explain the vision he had for Immortal Brews along with the history and centuries-old process behind the deliciously unique beers.

Later the doors would be opened to the public where a wide selection of Immortal Brews beers was on tap and could also be purchased at a generous one-night-only discount from the shop on the premises.

Presenting her invitation plus one at the door, Zoraida Del Bosque was quickly escorted into the interior part of the brewery where tables had been set up with bottles of beer, glasses to pour the beer into, napkins and the food that would pair well with each crafted ale.

Dressed for a casually informal evening of food and drink, Zoraida, who was inspecting an interesting infographic on the history of beer that had been set up for the occasion, had decided on a short, summery, off the shoulder cherry red dress.

Naturally, if Zoraida was attending an event such as this so was her assistant and bodyguard- and not as her plus one. Felen was dressed for the job and the occasion- which meant effectively business casual and a focus on being less than eye-catching as best he could. Concealed weapons and definitely no actual drinking for the night despite the location, but willing to at least hold a glass every now and then for the illusion .

Felen moseyed his way through the area, keeping his boss within eyesight and watching for issues.

Having hooked arms with Zora, Stefan made his way into the event with her as her plus one. He followed her into the main area of the brewery where a surprisingly elegant setup awaited them.
To say his felt out of his element was an understatement. This was going to be the who's who of the business world supposedly and Stefan didn't fit that mold in the slightest. He had opted for a pair of light khaki slacks with a light blue button up, no tie and a darker brown blazer over it.
Levina planned to spend most of the evening at Mr. Sandoval's side. Whatever he needed, she would be there to handle it for him. This was his night and she was hoping to make sure it went off exactly how he wanted it to.
Moving through the crowd with her boss, the short bright blue form fitting accented her hair and eyes flawlessly. Electric blue eyes spied one Zoraida Del Bosque and her plus one. Eyes narrowed before she leaned in close to Mathos and whispered to him.
"She's here."

Mathos stopped his mingling and tensed for a brief moment at Levina's softly spoken words. His sister - the bane of his very existence - was here - finally.

Tomas Del Bosque had been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. He had kept himself away from Zoraida on purpose - on the off chance that she might somehow recognise him. He didn't want anything to get in the way of his carefully laid plans.

"Where?" he demanded of Levina as he unconsciously began carefully scanning the crowd for the object his obsessive desire.

Upon spotting his sister with a blond manchild at her side, Mathos smiled darkly. "I see she hasn't changed," he sneered, his words dripping with acid.

Debating between two ales, Zora looked up just in time to notice, Felen, her bodyguard and assistant, moving across the room to somewhere unobtrusive. She had, at first, debated whether to give him the night off, but something had made her think otherwise.

Locking her gaze briefly with the elf's, Zora nodded once at Felen, acknowledging his presence.

"Stefan," she said as she slowly moved her gaze from Felen back to the table in front of her. "Which one should I try first? You know more about ales and beers than I do," she commented as she gestured to the American pale ale and the IPA in front of her.

"There."
Levina indicated by slightly raising her chin in the pair's direction. Her fist clinched at her side trying to keep her emotions in check. She had sensed when he tensed up and heard the venom in his voice. It only made Levina despise Zora even more, though they had never formally met.
"Don't worry love... don't let her ruin your night. Your triumph. The beginning of all you've been working for."
Her words dripped like honey. She had even worked up the courage to call Mathos by a small pet name, though she feared his possible rejection.
Stefan looked over the selection of beers and was extremely impressed. Each bottle had a write-up near it that explained the flavors and techniques used without giving away the recipe. He smiled to Zora.
"Well hun, an American Pale Ale will have a more citrusy flavor, little more crisp. While the traditional IPA will have a more hops flavor, a little more bitter. I'm personally going to try the pale ale."
Stefan's tone shook a little as he was trying to steady himself in the environment. He didn't want to do anything to embarrass Zora in the situation, but still wanted to remain as much himself as he could.

Too fixated now on his sister to really care or notice Levina's familiarity, Mathos's eyes narrowed even further when he heard Zora laugh. "Don't worry, I won't," he replied curtly, his words clipped.

Tearing himself away from his sister and her escort, Mathos looked at his assistant, letting his dark gaze rake over her and what she was wearing.

"You look very nice tonight," Mathos conceded, deciding that he had to refocus his attention elsewhere for a while, distract himself somehow. He couldn't let his sister get under his skin tonight.

"Where's your date?" he asked Levina. "I thought you were bringing along some guy tonight?" he stated, not really concerned with the finer details - like the person's name or who he was.

"Then I will try the IPA," Zora stated agreeably as she gestured towards the beer in question, and was almost immediately served the IPA in a chilled glass.

Thanking the waiter, Zora waited for Stefan to finish getting his pale ale before she linked her arm through his.

"This is really quite nice," she admitted as they mingled among the crowd. "You know, I overheard the wait staff commenting that the owner, Mathos Sandoval, is also from Spain," she said as she took a sip of her beer.

Levina smiled shyly and her cheeks became slightly reder at the compliment. She had not expected it to come, even though she did everything she could for his attention. She did a small quick turn so he could take her all in, more than happy to model for Mathos, especially if it took his attention off his wretch of a sister.
"Oh no. Of course not. You know my expectations are much to high. I'm here for you tonight."
Her smile grew as she talked. Mathos knew she was the constant target of people hitting on her, but she didn't know if he knew how she felt about and longed for him.
Stefan thanked the waiter as he took the frosty mug. Taking a quick sip of the beer he quickly put on an approving face and drank more before taking the flavor in for a moment. He was suddenly jerked back to the now when Zora hooked his arm.
"I would definitely agree. This place is very nice."
He figured it would be best to allow Zora to guide him through the crowd. Stefan wasn't sure if there was a certain etiquette to who they should speak to before others or really how any of this worked. Occasions like this back home consisted of lots of drinking, yelling, and feats of stength. Not so formal as this.
"Really? Maybe you're family knows his then? Tends to be a small world."

Mathos nodded, satisfied with Levina's reply, but still preoccupied with his sister and tonight's plans. He had invited Zorida simply because it gave him a perverse sense of satisfaction knowing that she believed him dead, and that she was safe from from harm.

Little did she know how wrong she was, and that if he'd wanted to, Mathos could have killed her without hesitation. Granted, he'd probably be taken down, if not killed in the process, and admittedly, it was the reason he didn't do exactly that. He wasn't in any rush to go down that road again.

Besides, the idea of torturing his sister, making her scared or question her sanity, was so much more appealling.

"Has my grandfather arrived yet?" Mathos asked Levina, not sure if the old man would show or not, but not really concerned if he didn't.

Wandering the beer tables, greeting people as they walked by or stooped to chat, Zora shrugged lightly.

"I don't recognise the last name, but that doesn't mean anything," she admitted to Stefan as they stopped moving once they had looked at all the tables of craft beers.

"I spent many years studying and working abroad," she explained as she caught sight briefly of a young woman with bright blue hair.

"Did you want to check out the liquors after we finish our beers?" she asked, curious tosee what else was on offer tonight.

"No sir. I don't believe so. I have not seen him, nor have I been informed of his arrival. Those checking invitations know to let me know when he gets here."

Levina's voice was very confident and smooth. She was used to taking minor things Mathos mentioned and making sure they got taken care of. She had become very attuned to him and the subtle cues he gave off.

It was that attunement that made her realize he was still focusing on his sister. It made her blood boil, which only got worse when electric blue eyes looked over and caught Zora's looking over at her briefly. Her eyes started to glow momentarily before she closed them and calmed down. A hand came up and rested on Mathos arm hoping to reassure him. Her voice soft, almost tempting.

"Mr. Sandoval, you have more guests waiting for you."

Stefan shook hands and introduced himself as appropriate while they walked around looking at the different beers available that the brewery would offer. Zora mentioned that she didn't recognize the last name but that could be for many reasons.

"Who knows. You meet a lot of people."

Stefan smiled to his date and looked down slightly to her from behind his mirrored aviators. He was feeling a bit more comfortable with everything, his natural charm helping him out.

"We can do that. I think I saw some of the beers were made and aged in whiskey barrels. I'd bet they make the whiskey for that too."
