And I can feel the warning signs

Gabe frowned, ever so slightly, he didn't remember how those had gotten there. He s'posed he must have dragged a couple movies from home even though he had forgotten about them. Gabe grabbed Silent Hill off him, "that's scary, Bill. I don't think you'd like it." He bit his lip, "why don't we watch a Christmas movie?"

It wasn't that Gabe was frightened, quite the opposite. He laughed at horror movies more often that not. But he knew Bill would be, and it'd probably end up with them both staying up all night, but not for pleasurable reasons, rather Gabe'd have to comfort Bill and assure him no one was going to come kill him while he slept.

"Are you sure?" Gabe eyed William skeptically. He couldn't believe him, he knew William too well.

<div align=center>William made a little pfft sound, "they're not scary." He answered, sounding a little more confident than he really felt about it. Of course, to someone that wasn't William, neither of those movies would have been scary at all, since neither of them had neither been that frightening. William, however, was frightened of the witch in Snow White, and who could blame him? She was terrifying. Gabe was worried that they'd end up keeping him awake, and he didn't want that, but he didn't really want to watch a Christmas movie, either, it was still too early, Bill wasn't feeling all that festive yet, maybe he needed to put a tree up in his dorm, a little one perhaps, he was too poor for a big one. "Why don't you have a tree?" He asked, softly. In fact, he didn't really see any form of decoration in Gabe's room, the boy scrambled up and shuffled to the window. "What is this?" He asked, wrapping his hand around the base of what, to him looked like a strange sort of candle. "I thought you didn't have any candles?" He asked, frowning. Bill could count seven candles on it, it was a golden sort of colour.

He tilted his head at Gabe, frowning at the item and trying to work out what it was. He placed it back onto the windowsill, it suddenly struck William that maybe Gabriel didn't celebrate Christmas at all, how strange. He thought to himself, not even a Christmas tree? He was more or less closed off to other cultures, he'd never really known much about any of them, he'd never been taught.</div>

" Of course they're not," Gabe nodded. They weren't , but Gabe knew better than to think William wouldn't be scared by them, "But... well are you sure?" He raised an eyebrow, he was a little skeptical about letting William watch them.

"Trees are expensive," Gabe stated, "it's pretty early in December as well, and besides," he smiled softly, "I'm Jewish. I'm not really supposed to celebrate Christmas." He grinned sheepishly. William was probably confused now as to why Gabriel had Christmas movies in his room, though he had mainly bought them for William, to have something to do together. He had thought Bill' would like them.

"That," Gabe prised the Menorah gently out of William's hands, "is a Menorah. It is part of the celebration of Hanukkah, a Jewish festival. You've gotta be careful with it, please." He wasn't cross though.

<div align=center>William tilted his head to one side, and apologized softly, though he hadn't hurt the Menorah, it was still alright. I'm Jewish. He blinked, Gabe didn't seem like the religious type, but he supposed you couldn't really judge someone by the way they looked. He hadn't got a Christmas tree yet, but poor Bill was just well, that, poor. "Can we put a tree up?" He asked, frowning a little, Gabe didn't have to celebrate Christmas, William just wanted to have a tree. A tree in his own room would most likely be knocked over by Micheal, but he supposed a small one would be alright.

He frowned a little, shuffled away and sat on the corner of the bed, hunching his shoulders. He wasn't going to break it, he was good at being careful with things, at least, he thought he was. Gabe was the one that broke things, not him. He sighed, "let's just watch a Christmas movie, then." He muttered, falling backwards onto the bed and scowling to himself, "I don't mind." He cleared his throat and shifted a little, bending his knees up and yawning, it was late for him, he was just a little sleepy. "Do whatever."</div>

"In here?" Gabe asked, a little confused. "I dunno honey, I don't really celebrate... Christmas," he wrinkled his brow. "I suppose I can this year seen as my boyfriend does celebrate it," he blew William a kiss. "But where will I find the money for a tree?" He laughed, he didn't exactly have a lot of money to spare, being a college student and all. "I'll see what I can do, okay?"

"No, we'll watch Silent Hill if you really want to, I suppose," Gabe bit his lip. He didn't want William to be in a strop with him, he'd watch the horror movie if it'd prevent that, maybe that had been Bill's plan all along.

<div align=center>William shrugged, and nodded a little, it was fair enough, though Christmas trees weren't really a religious sort of thing, William thought that they were a German tradition. Either German or Pagan, he didn't really remember. "Alright." He mumbled softly, a slightly disappointed tone in his voice, he'd go to town and buy a little one in a pot, he could put it on the dresser in his dorm room, that'd be alright, he could decorate it with little bits of tinsel and baubles. He wondered what went on at Christmas here, he had been used to being with his family, it felt strange to him to be away from them for Christmas, since they didn't really want him back...

William shook his head, "don't want to." He returned, yawning softly and sitting up, his eyes drifted over to the door for a moment, then back to the TV, it was turned off, nothing had been bothered with yet. "I'll only fall asleep anyway." He muttered, sighing lightly and running a hand through his hair, he was a tad irritated how Gabe had decided that he'd definitely he scared of them, he wasn't that much of a wuss, they weren't even rated R.</div>

Gabe sighed softly, he didn't like to disappoint William. His mother had once told him that the key to failure was trying to please everyone, but he thought he was safe, after all he only ever tried to please one person, his boyfriend.

"Are you going home for Christmas?" Gabe asked quietly. Most people in the Academy went home around the holiday season, those that stayed were usually ones who didn't have family or those that had big exams coming up. He didn't want William to go home, he'd be rather lonely. Gabe wasn't going home himself, although he thought his parents might be coming to visit for a weekend, each at separate occasions, of course.

"Alright," Gabe nodded, "wanna do something to wake you up then?" He had a naughty gleam in his eye.

<div align=center>William sighed softly and shook his head, "no." He answered, he wasn't going home, as much as he would have liked to. He missed his family, regardless of how badly things tended to go with them, he hadn't even had a phone call since he'd been here, the thought made him scowl a little, he really didn't want to talk about family anymore, it made him feel strange, and the emotion was portrayed upon his features, somewhere between mild anger and upset. His eyes flickered over to Gabriel, his brow furrowed, "I don't want to talk about this anymore." His tone came out far harsher than he'd intended it to.

Wanna do something to wake you up then? The boy shrugged, he didn't really feel like it now, he had perhaps earlier, but passing conversation had put a downer on things, he maybe would have liked to go and sit alone for a little while. "No, thank you." He finally answered, his face picking up a slightly bored look, though only to hide his evident upset. He lifted an eyebrow, his lips forming a slight pout, "thanks for the offer, I guess?" He muttered, he wasn't all that sure he was thankful for the offer, since it had made things awkward, but he supposed Gabriel's intentions were only supposed to please him, he supposed.</div>

"I suppose that'll mean I'll get to spend Christmas Day with you then?" Gabe smiled, "I'll actually be celebrating Christmas this year for a change in that case." He giggled a little, William seemed upset but Gabe was already hatching a plan to make him have a wonderful Christmas. He'd get Christmas dinner and surprise Bill with a tree and decorations on Christmas Eve. Then presents on Christmas day. The only problem with Gabe's plan was he couldn't actually cook, like at all. He burnt toast.

"I'm sorry, I won't bring it up again unless you want to." Gabe wrapped his arms around Bill. He wasn't gonna let him be grumpy for long. Not tonight. "Are you sure?" He asked, "shame, maybe later then."

<div align=center>William shrugged, "doubt it," he answered curtly, "I'll probably sleep through it." 'Probably' most likely meant 'I will try to.' That perhaps wasn't the best idea Gabriel had ever had, William didn't much like surprises and he certainly would never ever eat dinner, he seldom ate breakfast let alone a full meal, he didn't really have any money for presents either, therefore the day most likely would have left him feeling guilty and upset. He most likely wouldn't have thanked Gabe for it. I'll actually be celebrating Christmas this year for a change in that case. He'd changed his tune quickly, William's brow furrowed, "don't bother." He glanced to him briefly, "it isn't really that exciting." He didn't really feel like being in here anymore. He'd not been planning to do anything on Christmas, anyhow, he'd grown used to that idea.

Realistically he could have gone home for Christmas, though not to his own house, he still had friends back at home, friends he missed. There was at least one who'd gladly take him into his house over Christmas, Bill liked that thought, it would have been nice to go back to Chicago, if only for a short while. At least then he'd be able to avoid Gabriel's constant efforts of trying to make him feel better, not that he didn't appreciate those, they were just... Likely to make things worse.</div>
