And a squirrel and a vortex in my cortex

Minx had actually kind of forgotten about the police officer. She had a short attention span and was thoroughly enjoying running through all the colourful plastic tubes. It was almost as exciting as chasing the squirrels had been, even though there'd be no food at the end of this chase. On the plus side, it was a whole lot warmer in here than outside in the snow.

The fae really wasn't sure why the policeman was still yelling at her since she had stopped chasing the squirrels for now. Unless he didn't like the fact that she was getting ketchup all over the fast food place's play place. It wasn't like he'd have to clean it up. Of course, she was planning to go chase the squirrels again when he left, but really he could just take the darn things. Unless there was an age limit on this place.

Either way, the little mink was gonna keep hopping around until she got bored. She didn't really know what a taser was and didn't think the cop would have the nerve to actually do anything.

Minx was pretty much just running around and having fun at this point. She couldn't exactly see the taser being shot at her either, it was just some weird-looking thing. The fae was just going to run around in circles until one of them got bored, she had pretty much tuned out the strange police officer's yelling by this point too.

When the taser actually did hit the little mink, she was shocked literally and figuratively. Fortunately for both of them, it only grazed her tail. Unfortunately, tasers were not meant for use on tiny one foot long rodents, not even ones that were actually shapeshifting fae. The mink's whole body convulsed and twitched a bit. Minx just saw a bright light as she immediately switched to human form and passed out.

Because she had switched forms, she'd probably be fine with a bit of rest, but for now, the suddenly human-sized fae was passed out in the playplace, and completely unconscious.

Minx was pretty much out of it through all the lifting and carrying. If she'd been a normal mink, she'd probably be dead, but fortunately her shifter body was a little sturdier, and she hadn't been caught dead on either. It was more the shock of switching forms so suddenly that had knocked her unconscious. For now she was pretty much breathing normally. She could've been in a deep sleep.

When the fae didn't awaken right away, an ambulance was called. And the police were apprised of the situation. At the hospital, they were puzzled that the young woman had been knocked unconscious by a taser, until they learned that she was a shapeshifter who had been tased while still in mink form. After running an EKG and a few other tests, they concluded that she was stable and just needed rest. But they were going to test her again once she woke up.

When Minx did awaken, she was very confused by being in such a strange, bright place, instead of back at Generic Burgers & Fries. In fact, her first instinct was to run for it. But the other people stopped her and tried to explain what was going on. This was actually not too helpful, since Minx had no idea what a hospital or taser was. But eventually she got that the police man had attacked her and that she was in a place for healing. After a few false starts because of her lying, the doctors were able to tell that there had been no brain damage. The fae remembered everything clearly until she had felt like she was struck by lightning. Seeing as there was no permanent damage, Minx was cleared to go into police custody.

The police station was even stranger for Minx than the hospital had been. She just had a really hard time understanding why she was not allowed to hunt inside, especially in a place that served food, especially when she had brought her own food. Human customs and laws were nearly incomprehensible to the semi-feral fae. The punishment was very light, seeing as it was the fae's first infraction, and she could've been killed by an over-zealous officer. At first they were going to make her clean up the ball pit, under supervision, but the manager was adamant that he not have to see her face again, so she was simply permanently banned from all Generic Burgers & Fries establishments. She was also signed up for mandatory classes that covered the laws of Manta Carlos and proper interaction with its inhabitants.
