Private Finished An Unofficial Visit

"Very nice, then you know just how important good food is," Celeste nodded, happy that he seemed to understand her passion. "I love cooking, baking even more so, if that's possible," she explained. "I grew up in France, and good food to the French is almost like..., "here she stopped to look for an English word for it, "a necessity, almost more important than breathing," she laughed.

"That's right, you do have a daughter," Celeste said her face lighting up as she remembered him mentioning her before, "Are you married then? Divorced?" Celeste asked curiously as she looked at Roldan with clear interest.

When Roldan slipped easily into French, Celeste looked at him pleasantly surprised, arching an eyebrow, impressed. "You speak French too?" she asked, smiling, as she then took a tiny sip of her wine.

"I'm sorry to hear that, and I totally understand the cultural differences part, " Celeste said as she sat up straighter in her armchair, legs still under her, now a bit more serious. "I was also married," she explained meeting Roldan's gaze,"but to a non-magical person, and it didn't work out. When he found out I was a witch, everything changed, and basically, the gist is, I came home to find divorce papers on the table one day." she said with a tiny shrug.

"Things like that happen though, you just, well, learn from them, I guess. What's important is how you chose to deal with what life throws at you that matters," Celeste said kindly, understanding how he must feel since she had also been there herself.

"The dating scene..." Celeste chuckled, "Yes, I have been there myself. And no, it's not easy with children. But you also weed out the ones who aren't serious or are just looking for a good time... So I guess it's kind of a good thing in a way."

Celeste just looked at Roldan, grinned and raised her glass back when he told her ex-husband didn't know what he had.

"Shale," Celeste said after a short sip of her wine, "I'm afraid, he has been somewhat difficult at times. Don't get me wrong, I love him to death, but lately... he tries my patience. My niece suggested I look into some counselling, and I think she might be right, just to make sure he's adjusting properly." she said as she got up to refill her glass, returning with the bottle and gesturing to Roldan if he'd like a refill.

"How about you? How are things with your daughter? Does she live with you?" Celeste asked very curious about the man before her.

"I gather things must have difficult for her - and you too," Celeste said softly, Totally understanding how they must feel at this very moment. It was not always easy to move on from a divorce that much she knew.

At Roldan's offer to talk to Shale, Celeste nodded thoughtfully, considering it for a moment "You know, I may take you up on that offer actually. I have the feeling that whatever has been bothering him, might be more a guy talk thing, than a mom talk," she confessed.

"Your personal number?" Celeste said, quickly hiding her surprise at the unexpected offer, "Yes, I'd like that very much." she told him with a warm smile, "In fact, if you want, I can give you my cell number too, just in case, you should ever have need of it." she offered.

"I know what you mean. My ex and I were like that. Whirlwind romance, think everything is rosy, perfect... we got engaged, married and divorced within a year. It was.. horrible and exciting all at the same time..." Celeste admitted taking a sip of her wine.

"Next time... If there is a next time that is," Celeste laughed as she looked at Roldan and smiled," I plan on taking it a bit slower. Or at least try not get married and divorced in the same year." she joked.
