This guy was weird. Weirder than most students Avian had met. Weirder than the strange guy who welcomed her to the academy! Weirder than the guy who fell from the roof right in front of her! Avian could no longer study him with curiosity. Her face was now screwed up in utter confusion!
Evacuate?! Take control?! What?! She thought to herself.
Avian was normally tolerant of peoples odd powers and even found them fascinating but this guy was just creepy to her. Now she simply wanted to get out of the situation, not only for avoiding social interactions, but to get away from this vampire obsessed stranger! She hesitated for a few seconds, contemplating whether she should give him his name or not.
"Avian..." she muttered, looking down at her feet so that her sunhat covered her face.

Avian.

Her name sent bells off in Ashiel's head as he looked back at the birds who are still continuing to gather behind the girl. He smiled, pleased to see that she did have some potential and wasn't at all just an ordinary human being. Although, the birds behind her seemed harmless so if the time ever comes for his plan to come into fruition, he'd ask her to bring in the more vicious birds of prey.

"Oh well, it's nice to meet you Avian." he tells her, giving her a small bow because that's what people of his ranking do. It was best to get on her good side now so he can ask her to become part of his army later on.

"Sorry again for tripping over you," he starts, "And for assuming you were a vampire. I interrupted your drawing long enough." he says. His gaze landed on her sketch pad and he cocked his head to the side with curiosity.

"What were you drawing? Can I watch?"

The girl shifted uncomfortably, tapping her fingers nervously on her sketchbook.
"N-no," she replied softly.
Nobody ever watched her draw, let alone stay in her company. And of course there was the other factor that artists needed there space and couldn't have stranger's breathing over their shoulders as they worked. Him watching her was out of the question, especially because she found him a little unsettling.
"But you're right...you have kept me long enough from my drawing," she said quietly, being bold for a change, "So you should go,"
Avian felt like the last part was a little rude so she gave him a nod, "Uh, thank you for picking up my things."
That's when she noticed the crowd behind her. All the little canaries in the trees were chirping away and while most would see their songs as sweet, she recognized them as territorial tunes sung to establish turf. Her unsettled emotions had caused them to come to her defense.
He should leave me after this. But if he persists, I need to stay calm or the canaries could swarm him...or worse. She thought worriedly.
