Valli wasn't really sure if it was appropriate to ask for personal advice from a fellow teacher, but he had close to no personal resources to reach out to, and wasn't philosophy the core of things?

Really, all his problems could be dragged back to that, and he really needed advice.

Maybe Lulu wasn't the best source of that advice, but he had at least some familiarity with Valli. They'd seen each other in the past (Lulu was awfully hard to miss), but more recently his experience at 'Lou' had made it even more personal. Valli wasn't sure he'd call him a friend, but he was at least a trusted coworker.

He knocked carefully at the door of Lulu's office, wondering just what kind of lunacy was going to be inside. It was lunch, so they didn't have lots of time, but Valli didn't think it would take so long, and if it did they'd just reschedule.

Considering the fact that LuLu's fashion sense in human form generally looked like a rainbow had thrown up on him, his office wasn't actually that bad. Even though the wallpaper did look like a painting done by Escher on an acid trip, the colours themselves were muted and the walls weren't entirely bare, being covered in photographs of various people and things, stuck to the wall in seemingly organized clusters that probably only the eldritch themself could decipher. One wall was filled by a bookshelf packed with books on assorted topics, mostly philosophy and psychology intermixed with guidebooks and fiction. There was a window open on another wall to let in light and a bit of a breeze, with a small pot of lilies on the sill.

For furniture the office was fairly bare. The eldritch didn't use it much, generally preferring to be around people, and in their normal form they didn't have much use for furniture anyway. There was a normal-looking wooden desk, which currently had some books piled on it, next to a closed laptop plastered with stickers, and a jar containing an assortment of pens. There were also two navy-blue office chairs, which aside from the fact that they were glittery, also looked relatively plain. The only object in the room that could really be considered headache material, other than LuLu's outfit, was the tie-dye beanbag chair they were curled up in when Valli knocked.

LuLu uncurled themself and set the book they had been reading down on the beanbag chair, calling out, "Come in, please," to the person at the door, as they stood themselves up and walked to the door to greet whoever it might be. They were in human form, as they usually were during school hours, mostly because their clothes didn't shift with them and it was a little tiring to spend the 15 minutes shifting back into human form when they had better things to do.

The office was... alright. Certainly not to Valli's taste, but it wasn't physically assaulting his eyes like he'd expected, which was nice. There was even a plot of flowers. The office was eclectic, but considering the island itself, relatively tame, especially for an eldritch.

To Valli's relief, Lulu looked human when he entered. He'd been half expecting to deal with the weird jellyfish-blob-thing, and while Valli had grown up on the island and was used to dealing with the supernatural, looking directly at Lulu's natural form tended to give him a headache.

"Ah, Lulu. I don't think we've spoken since the virtual reality sim." Which was Valli being overly polite, because he knew they hadn't spoken since the sim. "I assume you knew who I was in there." He'd looked more or less the same, even if he used his original name.
