It was a little before three in the morning when Natasha finally got off work at the MCSS, changed into a pair of tight jeans and a low-cut crop top, and made her appearance at Popov, Pietro's nightclub. Normally, she might have opted to meet somewhere quieter and less ... open and busy, but after the very public attack by Citizens Against Evil on her organization, the vampiress found that she felt safer surrounded by her brethren. She also felt secure in the knowledge that Pietro wouldn't let anything happen to her... which Natasha, who was normally fiercely independent, had to admit was not something she had ever thought she would desire.

"Good evening, Mr. Popov is expecting me," she told the vampire that guarded the stairwell that went up to Pietro's office as she deftly slipped under his arm, not waiting for a reply as she moved quickly up the stairs, her footfall quiet save for the light clacking of her heels on the worn granite steps.

"Mon lev?" Natasha called out as she rapted a few times on the massive wooden door to Pietro's office. "Are you busy?" she asked in a questioning tone before she very slowly slid open the door just in case Pietro had a guest or was entertaining a client and needed a moment to compose himself.

Pietro was, in fact, busy with a guest. But when he heard Natasha at the door, he quickly apologized and asked if they could continue at a later time. The young man who left Pietro's office had fiery red hair and icy blue eyes that both practically glowed in the dim light - a bizarre vampire to say the least.

Once they were alone, Pietro called out, "Come in, little fox. I wasn't expecting you tonight. Is..."

She could see the worry, the weariness on his face when she entered the massive, looming room that he used as his office. It had once been something like a priest's quarters, the giant stained glass window blacked over with opaque paint like every other window in the building.

Pietro was a blur, moving around his desk with practiced grace and fluidity to shut the door and catch Natasha in his arms. Hugging her tightly, like a friend he hadn't seen in years. "Are you alright? Did something else happen? I wasn't expecting you..."

"Oh, Pietro..." Natasha choked back a strangled whisper as she then dissolved, quite unexpectedly, (even for herself) into tears when Pietro pulled her into a caring embrace.

Natasha had not quite realised just how stressed she had been and that she was barely hanging on until given that little nudge by someone she cared for and trusted. Burying her face against Pietro's chest she inhaled his scent and she gave herself a moment to calm down as the tears flowed freely now.

After what seemed like forever, Natasha pulled back a smidge and wiped the blood tears from her eyes and face as she looked up at Pietro.

"I apologise," she said, somewhat embarrassed that she had broken down like that though she also made no move to leave the comfort of her lover's arms.

"I thought I was okay... that I could handle all this by myself, but I was wrong," she admitted with a tired sigh.
