Appearance Description: Under normal circumstances Alwyn appears to be a young white haired man in his mid twenties. He also sports red eyes and sharp teeth. He stands at 6' and has a fairly intimidating look to him. He is usually seen wearing casual clothes, but he will trade those in for expensive looking suits.
His fae form stands at seven feet and is equal parts as elegant as it is intimidating. He appears to be a humanoid clad in red and black armor.
Personality Description: Outwardly he comes off as almost playfully oblivious to things. For the most part he's friendly to those who are friendly to him. Just don't forget that he is fae and his playful nature is what makes him dangerous. Any offense committed against him can cause him to turn on you on a dime. He holds very few people in any truly high standing, seeing many as objects, humans in particular but it can extend to other beings as well should they not hold his standards of intelligence.
Active Abilities:
Hypnotic Dance: This ability is activated when Alwyn begins to dance that can mesmerize those seeing it. Alwyn can dance normally without activating ability as well. It usually takes around thirty seconds for it to get a firm grasp on someone. The more intense and flashy, the more potent its effect. This can cause them to lose their sense of time, disorient them, and leave them open to suggestions. The suggestions are never anything more than simple requests such as “come along with me” or “trust me”. More wary or strong willed people are less prone to following any of these suggestions and even break the effect, however it does slowly break people down over time.
In combat situations this aura causes a good deal of fear and hesitation within people. In these situations berating opponents and verbal abuse is more easily taken to heart thereby causing more doubt. Generally speaking strong wills, high amounts of discipline, or outright resistance/immunity to mental stimuli and auras will either be completely unaffected or able to fight it off. People also have to see the dance/be engaging him from the beginning to have a full effect to the aura when it intensifies. Finally, if he is interrupted the aura's effects simply cut off leaving its targets dazed but otherwise fine.
Cadfael and Cadesh: The twin blades Cadfael and Cadesh have the ability shift into any melee weapon his master desires. They are unable to change into ranged weapons such as guns. The twins can also guide the hand of his wielder to fight more proficiently and even offers tactical advice even in the heat of battle. Regardless of form, they remain light for Alwyn. They cannot be turned against their
master, and will attack anyone who attempts to touch them without his master's permission by shifting and stabbing whoever put their hand on him. And even in those cases Alwyn has to give very specific parameters on what this person can do with him.
Shifting: Alwyn can shift between his fae and human forms via glamour. When in his fae form he can shift further, becoming more feral in appearance, with longer claws and a fanged mouth.
Passive Abilities:
Physique: Alwyn can lift half a ton and run up to 100 mph. His reflexes are sharp enough that he can dodge bullet.
Knows his own: Alwyn can innately detect his own kind or areas touched with fae magic.
Weaknesses: Being fae Alwyn has an inability to lie lest he lose his powers. That being said, half truths and lies by omission are acceptable. He is also subject to keeping his word and paying back debts. Inversely he fully expects people to hold up their ends of bargains when they enter into deals with him. Do not thank him because that forces debt, he hates that. Silver and gold effect him the same way iron effects normal fae. Where mild contact can cause mild itching to severe rashes and introduction into the bloodstream is fatal.
Resources: Alwyn still has strong ties to his court, and frequently makes visits to them. He also teaches dance and fencing in the city.
Biography: To fae from underhill he's made a name as a fairly vicious knight of the Hanging Garden Court. In spite of its name this court is best compared to a combination of a vampire coven and hornet's nest. They like to keep to themselves and treaties with other courts reflect this attitude. They're known for their forays into the human world to kidnap suitable slaves, the fruit that they produce in their gardens, and their iron weapons. Criminals and less than suitable slaves are made to “beautify” the court by being used as vessels for their plants.
Alwyn is one who tends to travel back and forth from Underhill to the human realm using our world as a “vacation home”. He finds humans in their natural habitat to be stupidly amusing. But even more entertaining than humans was the hidden island of Manta Carlos, a melting pot for all manner of magic folks including other fae. With all the goings on and happenings on the island he has moved here to get a front row seat to the shenanigans.
