The new moon was absolutely Live's favorite time of the month, hands down, no questions asked because the new moon meant there was almost zero light. Literally. Besides the stars, there was no shinning orb in the sky. That meant everything was at its darkest which was how Live liked things best.
She hadn't really had a plan for this new moon. Usually she performed some ritual but tonight she had not been prepared. She had actually forgotten about it until she was already out of her dorm and without her proper ritual tools. She had been too lazy to go back for her stuff so instead decided to take a long walk on the beach.
It sounds really lame but it kind of had a purpose. The connection of the ocean to the moon was something Live had yet to witness for herself and though many people probably wouldn't guess it, Live was all about experincing new things. She wanted to understand as much as she could about life on earth, even though she hated it with every fiber of her being.
Although she had to admit, tonight wasn't too bad. The stars looked incredible shining off the water and she was rather glad she had brought her sketch book along. She planned to walk for an hour or so and take everything in and then sit to draw for a bit.
That was until she saw a van. Yeah...a van parked on the beach. She looked around to see if this was a trend but it seemed to be the only vehicle in sight. She approached cautiously, looking for any sign of life.
"Hello?" Her melancholy tone called out as she peered into one of the windows. Maybe she should have been more concerned about waking some crazy vampire or something but Live was fairly confidant in her ability to fight off whatever was in there or get away if fighting was not possible.
