Alone

Valaina hated this place. She hated the people. She wanted to go back home to her friends, the people she trusted. She was pretty good about her powers. She had learned to contain them, and only a few people back home knew about them.

Valaina hadn't met anyone new here. She didn't want to. She just wanted to fade away and never have any contact with anyone. But that was the impossible.

Valaina couldn't take it anymore. She opened her mouth and screamed. A long, high-pitched, glass breaking scream.

Maria came running. "Is someone in trouble?"

Surprised Valaina spinned around to see a girl standing there with an alarmed expression on her face.

"Oh, no there's nothing wrong. I was just feeling overwhelmed is all. Sorry I startled you," Valaina explained still feeling trapped and a little scared.

Skye was flying over the cliff when she heard someone scream. She quickly flew down to where she had heard the sound to find Maria and a girl that she had not met before. "You guys okay?" she asked them.

Valaina sighed. "I'm sorry. there's nothing wrong. I was just feeling...trapped I guess," Valaina laughed, "It's funny how one little scream can cause so much commotion."

Skye laughed. "It's alright." Skye thought back to how she felt when she had first come here. She felt trapped, also. "I'm Skye," she told the girl.

"I'm Valaina. This place is so different. It's hard to get use to," Valaina said quietly.

"My name is Maria. It is very hard to get use to." Maria said.

"Totally," Skye agreed. "It got better after I made a few friends, though. So, what powers do you have?'

"I can transform," Valaina said confidentaly. "I can transform into a cat. What about you?"
