Michael walked slowly down the hallway. His sad eyes looked around him at the spider webs and dust. He said nothing, and even the voice in his mind was silent. He leaned against the wall, and dust fell from it as he did so.
Today had been her birthday. At the orphanage, no one had ever told him who his parents were. But they had told him the date of his mothers birthday.

It was just something they made up to keep us happy. Said the voice bitterly. But even his usually cold and uncaring side was affected. Because for all they new they had no parents.
