Alone...maybe

From where Legion stood, he was pretty high up. It was a beautiful day, so no lightning could interfere if need be, and need be. He wasn't planning on doing anything. He wasn't that desperate, yet. Legion looked at the ground. Yep, he was right. He was very high up. Legion sat on the ledge of the roof, and sighed heavily. He hoped to be alone, to think. At this school, that was going to happen. Everyone seemed to want to talk to him. What was so special about Legion? Nothing, he firmly told himself. Nothing at all. It was really incredible at how many people wanted to be his friend, just because he came from a different time. So what? A lot of people from different times were here from what he could determine. There was nothing special about Legion. He was just a stupid human, who experienced dumb luck a very very long time ago. Sometimes he wished that he never saved his family. Then, he could've lived on his own. Married Tana at age fifteen, which was perfectly legal then, and start a family with her. Instead of ending up in this stupid town. Away from Tana. Away from a good life. There was no way in heck that Legion would end up going back to his home. Unless another bolt of lightning hit him, and exactly at the right moment. Legion wasn't going home. He sighed, and laid his head in his hands, and began to cry.

Vara flicked her jet black hair out of her eyes and continued towards the roof. "It would be so much easier if I had wings" she muttered to herself. She climbed the last few steps and was now standing in the roof, Vara loved the feel of wind in her face, it was a natural feeling and enjoyed it when her hair would blow into her face and tickle her cheeks gently.

She was soon thrown out of her train of thought by a sound. Conjuring a fireball in her hand Vara sharply turned around ready to throw it when she noticed a boy, about fifteen or sixteen years of age crying. She raised and eyebrow and made a fist causing the fireball to be immediately extinguished in her own hand. Vara walked closer to the boy, who still had his hands in his face and obviously didn't know she was there.

"You ok?" she asked bluntly. Vara had no idea who he was so didn't feel the need to attack him.

"You ok?" Asked a voice behind Legion bluntly.

Legion turned to the voice, and saw a girl with jet black hair. Standing, not far away from where Legion was sitting. "Uh...yeah I guess. If you call losing your family and loved ones ok, then yeah. I'm peachy." Legion said sarcastically. He stood, and turned to the girl. "I'm Legion. New to this academy." He noticed smoke come from her hand. "Do you have fire powers?" He smiled lightly, and stepped away from the ledge.

Vara looked at the boy. "Wow sarcasm, and i thought i was the only one who know about it in this place. I'm Vara." She replied then looking at her hand, there was a little bit of smoke coming from her palm. Blowing gently at her palm she made the last of the smoke rise into the air. "Yes, i have fire powers, and lightning powers, what have you got Legion?"Vara asked curiously.

She smiled back, now pulling the hair out of her eyes, she could now get a better look at the boy. Putting one hand on her hip Vara used the other to twirl a strand of hair that was still dangling at the side of her face.

Vara was pretty. "I've got lightning powers too. And a dagger. But other than that, I'm as normal as normal can get." He stepped closer to Vara. "So, what brings you to the academy? I stumbled upon it, quite literally." He grinned now, and a storm started. "Great, just what we need. A rain on our parade." He laughed softly, and sat down on the soaked roof. "Don't worry, I'm sure we can keep the lightning away from us, eh?"

Vara smiled, "I have a few athames and one dagger but they aren't for fighting." She looked up and noticed the rain and laughed softly. "As long as it isn't ice, and lightning doesn't hurt me" Vara sat on the edge of the roof.

"I needed to get away, I was lonely and my aunt didn't want to care for me anymore." She replied looking at Legion who was siting on the roof, one of her eyebrows raised"What do you mean, you fell into it?" Vara asked curiously giving a piercing look with her deep saphire eyes, it wasn't a glare but she was just curious and wanted to know.

Legion looked at her. "The lightning won't hurt you. I promise, ok?" He smiled, and looked up to the sky. "It's just a typical storm. Nothing more than clouds, rain, thunder, and lightning. No ice. Nothing to worry about." When Vara said that her aunt didn't want to care for her any more, he looked at her concerned. "Well, you've got someone to talk to, always, and whenever you want to, right here." He smiled. "I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon."

"I didn't fall onto the school. I just walked in, and everything sort of fell into place. I'm really popular, although I don't see why. It must be a time period thing."

"No seriously lightning can't harm me. Watch" Vara said conjuring a lightning attack, which she then put onto her bare skin, it didn't do any harm, but disappear in some smoke, like the fire ball she had conjured earlier. "You're not fro this time?" She asked sitting back down.

Vara enjoyed talking to Legion, if it was anyone else she would probably be battling with them. "This is the first I've heard about you. Though saying that i keep to myself" She replied smiling slightly.

Legion returned the smile, and sat closer to Vara. He liked her, she was nice. "No, I'm from Sixteen-Thirty-Three. It's a very long story. But like I said earlier, I left behind my friends, family, and...Tana. My girlfriend. I left everything behind in a flash of lightning." Legion became sad, and looked out at the sky. "If only I could find a way to go back. But, that's impossible." He looked at her. "I'm sorry, I'm rambling about things you probably don't want to hear about..."

"No it's ok ramble on Sixteen Thirty Three? I'm sorry you can't go back to your family and friends" She said tieing her hair up in a black ribbon that was tied around her wrist.

"Lightning sent you to this time? Well I suppose a lot of things are possible." Vara said looking up at the sky noticing that it had stopped raining. "That was a short storm" She stated bluntly sighing and standing up to stretch.
