Ana had had enough of waiting. She was degrading faster than she thought and it wouldn't be long before she keeled over and all of this was over. It wasn't revenge she wanted, not really. Dying and leaving Dalia to suffer wasn't the plan. Sure, it would be a nice consolation prize if she couldn't get what she really wanted. But it wasn't the plan.

The old penthouse looked exactly the way she remembered: the weapons on the walls, the Praxian aesthetic mixed with modern design. No one was home when she unlatched the skylight and dropped silently into Mama's old sun room. She settled down in her spider form there for a bit, enjoying the warm rays of the sun and reminiscing. She had a few hours until someone came home, most likely. So she was going to make the most of it: do the things she had never gotten to do when she was a girl.

So Ana drank some of the wine in the kitchen and she put music on, cranking it up all the way to let it fill the house. She went up to the third floor, finally getting a glimpse of Malara's altar and the infamous circle bed. She went into her old room and Amber's room and Phaedra's room and just let her memories fill in the gaps. She felt embittered. Angry. How could they have just thrown here away like this? She actually almost hoped that one of them would kill her. Make themselves the undoing of their precious little Dalia.

A few things had changed since Ana had lived here, since she was part of Dalia. Some of those things had to do with Chloe.

Chloe's power, and her foothold in hell, have been growing. What used to be Pandora's sun room had become Chloe's space for her dark magic. On one wall hung what looked like an intricate poster covered in barely comprehensible runes. It was an anchor point between this world and Chloe's realm.

Chloe could hear out of it, but she didn't notice what Ana was up to. She didn't take a moment to watch her rappel into that room. She heard the sounds of the latch opening, but didn't think anything of it. Even when the music started, at first she thought 'Dalia must be at the Lilac festival, or something. Good for her.' She had been asking Dalia to keep one of those anchor points on her, after all, and Chloe was paying fairly close attention to it. A middle ground, after Jackal talked her down from just locking Dalia up safe in hell.

But, no. This wasn't coming from Dalia. This was from the penthouse. What the hell was going on at home?

Soon, Chloe was walking out of the old sunroom. The music was way too god damn loud, so that was her first objective: going over and turning that down. And then, once she'd turned that volume dial, she would call out into the penthouse:

"Hello?"

Chloe's worst fear right now was about Amber. She noticed that bottle of wine, and she knew Malara was busy at work, so it couldn't have been her and Jackal. Was Amber getting drunk and having sex? How was Chloe supposed to deal with that, if she was?

Amber had snuck out of the penthouse for only a little bit to catch a few Pokemon she could see lurking just outside of her home. The one that had her particular interest was the Shinx which would give her enough candy to FINALLY evolve her shiny Luxio to a shiny Luxray. She was only going to be gone for minute at most so she didn't think she would bother her mom when she planned to come right back. After catching her Shinx, figured she catch few other Pokemon and collected items from the Pokestops along the way before returning back to the penthouse.

Even behind the door she could hear some sort of music blaring inside at full volume and as she was about to turn the door handle it had suddenly shut off. Part of her wondered who the heck was playing the music so loud but figured it must have been her mom or something fiddling with speakers or something. Upon opening the door she didn't see anyone in the immediate vicinity and just slipped herself inside. That was when she saw her mother, along with a bottle of wine laid out.

"Oh, hey mom. I was just out for a minute to catch a Shinx. Didn't want to bug you while you working on your stuff. Is everything okey?" piped up Amber, whom at this moment had no reason to be alarmed about anything.

Oh. Someone was here faster than she had originally thought. Anastasia wondered who it - oh it was Aunt Chloe. And Amber. Oh this was too perfect. In her human form, she skittered across the ceiling, down the hallway to the living room that the girls used when they had friends over. She went slowly, sticking close to the high ceilings so that Chloe wouldn't see her first.

She slid down a line of silk, landing on the couch cushion and taking a sip from the wine glass she had carefully carried with her. After a moment of waiting, she hurled it against the far wall, shattering the glass and spilling wine on the wall and, of course, alerting the others in the house to her presence.

Chloe didn't see her first. But she could feel it, vaguely. Something was moving, and that something didn't answer her when she called out a second ago. It wasn't Dalia. Dalia wasn't here - she could see where Dalia was. And it didn't feel like Izzy, and Amber was right in front of her.

She didn't answer Amber, not at first. She was putting together the pieces. Fear was building up in her chest. "Um, I think everything's okay. I just heard this loud music and —"

They heard the glass break. Chloe's head jerked towards the source of the sound.

She lowered her voice to a whisper: "...Amber, could you hop through the portal for a second?" Amber would know Chloe meant the one in her magic room. And she would probably know why - it was safe in there. The tattoos on Chloe's body began to move and shift.

Amber's head jerked at the sound of glass shattering. This and her mom's silence earlier made her realize that something was wrong. Something was very wrong. She was scared, even as her mom tried put on the appears of being composed. But as her mom asked her to step into the portal, nodded and quietly made her way the magic room her mother spoke of. There was the portal, that promised space of safety. Amber looked behind her shoulder, looking worryingly to her mom before tip-toeing inside the portal.

The other side of the portal would look pleasant. It was like she was inside of a castle, at the top of a tower, in the middle of a beautiful forest. Her room in the tower would have books, a comfortable bed and a hammock, and even a few sweets which she could feel in her mouth, but they would never seem to actually fill her up. Only if Amber focused could she start to fathom the truth of that place.

She wouldn't see either of the guns Chloe had started keeping in this realm.

In the penthouse, Chloe was tiptoeing over to the source of the broken glass. The first thing Ana would see of her was her now-tattooed hand, slowly reaching in as if to grip the wall and pull Chloe the rest of the way in. Then came the rest of her body. She took a few steps in and stopped, staring.

"Ana, what are you doing in my home?" Chloe didn't know what was happening here, but she was already sick of it.

Ana's lips slowly curled into a sneer as Chloe came into view. Amber was gone, no doubt hidden away somewhere away from the intruder. She stood up off of the couch, cracking her neck slightly and walking closer to Chloe. ""Don't even think about contacting Malara. She can't do a thing to me."

"I couldn't stay away anymore. I've been needing to get this out of the way for a while, and I don't have much time to do it now."

As she stalked closer to Chloe, Ana spit a line of spider web at the light switch, turning the lights off. "I really was hoping that it was you that came home first. You are, after all, the reason I'm even here Aunt Chloe."

As she moved closer, the dimmed light allowed Ana to change and take her more monstrous Arachne form. She towered over Chloe, grinning down at her with the same devilish look that Pandora had always given her.

Chloe could see her well enough. She held her ground. Her expression didn't change. Back in her realm, holy water was being poured over a handful of bullets, and they were loaded into the revolver Ozzy used to carry.

"Back off," Chloe said. "I don't care who you are, if you take one step closer or make one more sudden move, I will kill you." Ana clearly meant her harm. Chloe was having none of that.

She held up a hand, and a bright light came out of it, lighting Ana up like a flashlight. In fact, it was literally just the head of a flashlight sticking out of a portal on her palm, but Ana might not have been able to tell with how bright it was.

"Sit down and explain yourself. Now."

Ana laughed. More like a cackle, but the point was the same. All six of her eyes closed as her mouth opened wider than normal to reveal the mandibles hidden behind her lips. "You're not in control here, Auntie. Go ahead. Kill me. But the second I die, you lose the only chance of fixing your -"

She grinned a bit wider, still skittering slowly towards Chloe. "Oh right I forgot. Dalia isn't your kid, is she? At least you never saw it that way right?"
