A'laya The Serpent
Hello hello, beautiful people~!
Thousands of years old | June 21st | Genderfluid | Pansexual Grey-aromantic | Sea Serpent and Envy Demon | Student | College Freshman | Communications/Theatre Major | Internet Celebrity
APPEARANCE
In their ‘human’ form, A’laya is dark-skinned with bright blue hair. They are quite tall at 6'7" with long legs and a long torso. They have B-cup breasts and a thin, muscular built. Their eyes are a darker blue with a touch of purple. While they are a few thousand years old, they seem both physically and mentally stuck in their early 20s.
A’laya has bright turquoise scales that crawl along their legs and arms, as well as webbed feet and hands. They also have webbed fin pieces that come out of their elbows and neck. A'laya does not have the ability to make their obviously inhuman traits disappear, and even glamours do not work.

A’laya is gender fluid and often changes their style between masculine and feminine depending on how they are feeling. When they are feeling feminine, they wear a lot of colorful and glittery makeup, while a more masculine A'laya tends to do some basic contouring to bring out their more boyish features.
When it comes to feminine clothing, A'laya lives by 'less is more!' They love warmer weather that allows them to walk around in nothing but a bikini top and shorts, ideally. Unfortunately, since A'laya is cold blooded and unable to use heat charms, they have to be careful and wear a lot of layers in colder weather.
They also like to wear colorful, casual dresses and cute tops with tight jeans. A'laya's more masculine fashion sense tends to lean more toward preppy collared shirts and...well, more tight pants. Even though fashion is very important to A'laya--admittedly, Hawaiian shirts are a guilty pleasure.

A’laya is physically intersex with both external sex organs. Internally, they create functional sperm and are capable of impregnating others, but they cannot be impregnated themselves.
A’laya is a popular Manta Carlos internet celebrity who runs a fashion blog and makes video makeup tutorials, as well as a vlog where they discuss just about anything that is on their mind. Their huge personality made them a natural in drawing attention—hardly a surprise from an Envy demon. They aspire to take their internet fame and turn it into something beyond just online popularity.
Despite being an envy demon, A'laya tends to speak very casually about their popularity. This isn't due to any sort of actual humbleness. Feeding off of other’s envy has shown A’laya that others are even more envious of those who are modest of their accomplishments rather than those who are arrogant. They walk on a fine line between boasting of accomplishments, while also treating it as no big deal.
In fact, A'laya tends to act casual about nearly everything; giving off a sort of 'surfer dude' vibe, except more hyper. Nothing seems to really bother them--at least externally. They seem to laugh or shrug off just about everything. It's not that A'laya doesn't experience anxiety or anger, but that they just really don't know how to express them externally--so they just let it all build up internally instead. While they may seem like a carefree and energetic person on the outside, that build up of negative emotions actually makes A'laya a vindictive little shit. Especially if they have any reason to envy someone--because, well, envy demon.
This build up of all of A'laya's stress also tends to result in a lot of thrill-seeking activities. A'laya seems to lack just about any impulse control and won't hesitate to jump into dangerous situations. But hey, does it really matter? They are immortal, after all! No problem!
A’laya struggles to make close connections to others, although they do find it is slightly easier among other Hellions than it is with humans or anything else. But when A’laya does like someone, they are into them to an absurd degree. Like, they will offer to straight up kill people for them. Sometimes they will laugh off the offer like it was just a joke, but it’s actually pretty damn serious. It hasn’t happened yet—and that is probably for the best, as A’laya lacks the fine attention to detail necessary to get away with murder anyway. Although if they partnered up with someone…

Because A’laya always seems to be so absurdly high energy, there have been hypothesizing around the internet about whether A’laya takes drugs or not. A’laya themselves vehemently denies ever taking drugs besides smoking weed, which of course is perfectly legal on Manta Carlos. The truth is, however, that A’laya does dabble a bit in Speed.
POWERS AND SPECIES ABILITIES

Sea Serpent Shapeshifter
Just like daddy Leviathan, A'laya is able to shapeshift into a massive sea serpent. In water, A'laya is fast and powerful--a force to be reckoned with. A'laya's massive body runs about ten stories in length and their fins span about 5 stories.
A'laya is only able to transform and function in their sea serpent form in large bodies of water. The transformation is pretty much instantaneous, but frequently shifting can cause A'laya major fatigue.
A'laya is able to breathe both air and water in both their forms. They are slightly affected by temperature as a cold blooded creature--more sluggish in cold water while much more active in warm.
One of A'laya's major weaknesses is that they can no longer shapeshift into an entirely convincing human form. No matter what, they always have scales, fins, and webbed feet and hands that completely give away the fact that they are obviously inhuman. They are restricted only to Manta Carlos and Hell as a result, as trying to go anywhere else on Earth would obviously be a huge breach of the Veil of Secrecy.

Royal Demon Blood
A direct descendant of Leviathan, A’laya is immortal. Should they be ‘killed’, they will regenerate in back in Hell and eventually return to the Earth. Regeneration typically takes about 4-5 days.
They also have a weakness against holy objects. Such things will not kill them, but they certainly can weaken.

Envy Aura
The envy aura of a demon like A'laya is not aggressively forced, but rather a constant and lingering sensation that floats around anyone near A'laya. It wants to feed off the envy of others--but whether those around A'laya are susceptible or not to jealousy is not what A'laya has control over.
Maintaining the envy of others is a tricky endeavor, and since A'laya's own strength and powers rely on feeding from others envy, that means it is inconsistent to some degree. They do manage to maintain a fairly consistent level of envy via those A'laya managed to make envious of them in hell plus those who experience envy when they watch A'laya's videos online.
But A'laya's envy aura really only effects those who are near A'laya--the envy they gain from the internet is based strictly on A'laya's own personal charm and successes. Those who feel envious toward A'laya from afar are not effected by the aura, but A'laya is able to feed off of their envy as long as A'laya is on their mind.
A'laya's envy aura is pretty obvious to fellow demons, and it can cause a lot of frustration and anger toward them. However, A'laya doesn't have the ability to turn their 'aura' off, so if fellow demons get all mad at them because they can feel that obvious envy aura effecting them, then oh well not A'laya's problem. Deal with it, bro.

Physical Strength and Durability
A'laya feeds off of the envy of others, which makes them more physically powerful and durable. From the envy they have accumulated from Hell and Manta Carlos, they are stronger than a human in their humanoid form. They can lift up to a ton of weight and throw it a couple of feet.
They also have a strong physical defense and do not die easily. Multiple stab wounds will heal without death, but being literally torn apart will definitely kill them and send them back to Hell until they regenerate.
The power they gain from feeding off of envy effects both their serpent and humanoid forms.

Water Powers
A'laya also has power over water as a result of being a sea serpent, and the strength of it is also determined by the amount of envy A'laya is able to feed off of. Right now, their water powers are fairly restricted: they cannot form water directly through their powers, so they need to be near a body of water in order to use their water abilities. They can shoot jets of water about as strong as a firehouse, or they can conjure up waves in large bodies of water.
Since A'laya is restricted to only Hell and Manta Carlos, they do not have the ability to feed off of the amount of envy they would need to be able to form water directly from their own powers.
They are able to use their water powers in both their serpent and humanoid forms.

Weakness: Unable to use Charms Or Glamours
Not only is A'laya not able to shapeshift themselves into an 'ordinary' human form via their own powers, but they are entirely unable to use the power of glamours to do the same. In addition, they cannot use charms--which they learned the hard way after a pregnancy scare with their girlfriend when they realized the anti-fertility charm they were using as birth control was not working because of A'laya.
Attempting to use a charm or glamour will not harm A'laya, but it will be useless. A'laya is cursed to have no way of shifting their form to look entirely human, and also has been made unable to use any sort of magic contained in an object as a result.

HISTORY
One could definitely say A’laya the Serpent takes after their father, Leviathan: The Envy Prince of Hell and the massive sea serpent of Christian lore. In fact, no one could say who A’laya’s mother was. Or if they even had a mother. A’laya seems to have simply come to existence.
A'laya is very much one of the demon children who was loved and spoiled by their father. They spent much of their time between hell and the ocean: making lesser envy demons experience intense levels of jealousy for their own amusement while occasionally destroying sea-faring ships full of humans just for fun.
But A'laya was almost...too damn good at making others experience severe levels of envy. A'laya was too much--to the point that even Leviathan began to have concerns. Or perhaps it was just envy that A'laya seemed on the verge of surpassing their own father and a Prince of Hell. When A'laya shared their plans of going to the surface to become famous among humans to feed off of even more envy, Leviathan decided that this child needed to be knocked down a peg or two.
With the help of fellow demons, Leviathan set a curse on A'laya so that they could never appear entirely human. Sure, they could go up to the Earth's surface--but now they were restricted only to Manta Carlos. A'laya was no longer a threat.
A'laya, of course, was PISSED at their father for ruining their plans. Despite that seemingly carefree attitude on the outside, A'laya intends to restore their shapeshifting abilities someday and then get revenge on Leviathan--a plan they rarely share with anyone.
But for now, A'laya has to make due with living on Manta Carlos. They've started by making themselves popular online by making a fashion and makeup youtube series, along with their vlog. Hey, it's a start. Maybe they cannot be famous all around the world, but they will capture the attention of as many on Manta Carlos as they possibly can.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-A'laya is shockingly good with children. After all, A'laya sees very little reason to envy anything about kids--and A'laya's big personality makes them an awesome story teller that kids loves to listen to. A'laya isn't really sure if they would want to have any themselves or not, but they do enjoy interacting with kids!
-Real birthday unknown, but chose June 21st because the summer solstice usually falls around that date and they love the summer time.
