Biography:
Born in Osaka, Japan, Akane was raised by her mother and her mother's sister, with her dad being nowhere to be seen and hardly mentioned. From birth, Akane's mother always knew she was a half-demon, and even if she didn't know, Akane's powers started early enough for it to be apparent that something was abnormal about her daughter. Both her mother and her aunt would begin to break down and cry randomly throughout the day whenever baby Akane cried, and then they would smash things in anger whenever Akane felt angry. Luckily, after these emotional outbursts, Akane and her caretakers would feel too tired and drained to continue. As Akane aged, her caretakers tried their to allow her live normally. She was taught to hold back her powers, focus on meditation, and how to remove herself from people if her emotions, or the emotions of others, were too much for her to handle. This taught Akane that being a shut-in was the best way to live her life, despite how much she wanted to involve herself with the other kids around her. Instead of socializing, she focused on her studies and managing her powers in hope that things would change enough that she would finally be able to live a life where she could be a normal friend to people.
Her goal didn't last long, however, since the day she got into an argument with a classmate, everything began to fall apart. The argument became heated, with her barely holding back punching the student because of their disagreement. So caught up in holding back a punch and winning the argument, she forgot to focus on her powers and allowed her anger to spread to her other classmates. Some acted on her anger and began fighting each other, with the person she was arguing with getting beaten the worst. Akane's anger would have been replaced by fear, if not for her classmates' anger being pushed back onto her as she pushed her own fear onto them. In a panic, she ran out of her classroom for safety and hid until the teachers came in to stop the brawl. Being away from the fighting helped Akane to experience emotions that were just hers without any outside interference, but after that day, her mom would not allow her to go back to school. The excuse they used was that she was sick at first and traumatized by the fighting, and soon after she was switched into homeschooling.
Things began to settle back down again, but one day, two people showed up at Akane's house and were allowed in by her aunt. They wanted to know more about Akane and the fight that happened at school recently. After revealing her powers to the people who proclaimed themselves scouts, she was led to the mysterious islands called Manta Carlos Islands with her mother. Her aunt stayed behind, refusing to follow strangers to an unknown location and condemning her sister for doing something so reckless with a half-demon. Now, Akane is still learning how to speak English so the charms wouldn't need to be used, but for the time being, her mother request speaking and writing translation charms to escape the language barrier.

Personality Description:
- Angsty - Akane adores the emo and gothic aesthetic and tries to incorporate much of it into her life, yet she isn't very good at keeping up the aesthetic personality-wise. She'll dress the part, but after feeling how annoyed people felt about her being too much of a try-hard, she toned down her attempts at being angsty. Now the closest she gets to being angsty is by deepening her voice and putting on a monotone to sound more ominous, as well as speaking with dry-humor and sarcasm. She also has an obsessive love for Reaper from Overwatch and Raven from Teen Titans as the epitome of what she wants to achieve in aesthetics, with the latter being someone she can relate to heavily since she also has emotion-based powers and has a demonic father. Amusingly, Akane hates viewing media with scary or depressing themes since she ends up pushing her fear and sadness onto those around her and people do the same to her, so participating in true emo and gothic culture goes against what she can actually handle with her powers.
- Sociable - Despite the angsty appearance she tries to portray, Akane is a polite, extroverted girl who enjoys being around people. The only thing getting in the way is her powers, which makes it hard for her to think when she's being overwhelmed by everyone's emotions. It's easier for her to be around small groups of people, and she prefers to around herself with mature people who are better at handling their emotions. Nevertheless, she wishes she could go out to parties and be in crowded areas without fear because speaking to people is the best way to make her happy. Since coming to Starlight Academy, Akane has had high hopes she would find a group of people perfect for her that wouldn't be affected by her powers.
- Technology - Back when Akane first got her phone, she knew she had an affinity for technology. Her favorite things to study are robots, coding, and hacking. While she's still an amateur (which is typical for her age), her passion lies within being a technological expert, and she won't hesitate to throw herself at any opportunity to practice her skills and talk about how she wants to be an expert hacker as an adult.
- Vigilante - Inspired by superhero cartoons and comics, Akane has created a vigilante persona for herself called Skull X. At the moment, she lacks a team to associate herself with, as well as a costume and any semblance of an idea on what she would do the moment she saw a crime happening. In spite of that, the idea of her bringing vigilante justice excites her and being on an island full of individuals with the power to reenact the superhero versus supervillain fights she has always dreamed of has only encouraged her dream of being a vigilante. The closest she had gotten to achieving her dream is by going out at night while her mom was asleep so she could see if there was any drama she could witness. With her overhearing rumors of there being actual vigilantes around, Akane hopes she could meet one, or at the very least, see one in action and learn from the

Powers:
- Emotion Manipulation - As a half-emotion demon, Akane can feel and control the emotions of those around her in a 15 feet radius, and the radius will increase as she becomes older and trains her powers. The ability Akane is best at is the manipulation of emotions, which she trained hard enough to be able to reduce, augment, and shift basic emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, and fear. She is capable of mixing those four emotions to create a new, more complicated feeling, but it tires her out very quickly and is more trouble than its work.
When Akane is using her powers, her eyes will become a lighter shade of purple. Depending on how intensely she's using them, they can vary in dimness, ranging from barely looking different from her normal almost-black purple eyes, to looking like a near white purple.- Empathy -
Within Akane's 15 feet radius, she can feel the emotions of people around her. Often this is not a problem, specifically when she's around happy people, but intense emotions are quickly picked up by her and can overwhelm her. Her own emotions can also be pushed onto others without her meaning to, making it difficult for her to feel sadness, anger, or fear without worry others will pick up on those emotions and act on her behalf. She can also feel the intent of people's emotions, so if someone is angry and wants she break something, she will feel the urge to break something too. This can work the other way, with her being so happy she could hug someone, and then someone else hugs the person she wanted to hug.
The power to sense emotions is constantly on, but dim emotions don't really affect her. It's when she enters a room filled with many people, or when some people are more intense with their feelings that she becomes overwhelmed. The ability to push her emotions onto others is something she can turn on and off by forcing herself to concentrate on her powers. She can also sense the intent of others if she focuses hard enough, but that's easier to achieve with stronger emotions.
People affected by Akane's emotions will feel a link to her and also feel a slight disconnect from the emotions that are genuinely theirs and the emotions Akane is pushing onto them. Once they spot the sense that the emotions they're experiencing aren't theirs and that Akane has something to do with it, they can do two things. First, they can try to differentiate between their real feelings and fake feelings and resist acting on Akane's emotions. Secondly, they can try to move out of her range, so they are no longer affected by her.
- Empathy -
Species Abilities:
- Longevity - Stemming from her demonic genes, Akane will start aging slowly during puberty. She won't stop aging completely, but as she gets older, it'll take longer for her to have any changes to her body until it seems like she's barely aging at all. She'll be able to live for a few hundred years before finally succumbing to old age.
