"That is correct."

Gask started his round of questions, becoming increasingly confused until he eventually had to give up. It was something comminly found around the house. Disposable. Made if natural materials. Smaller than a loaf of bread. Sometimes found in a bathroom, sometimes in a kitchen or living room. It wasn't a paper towel or soap.

Gask shook his head, "I do not know. I forfeit this round."

"It's a candle," Celeste replied gently, aware that she had actually won the challenge but thinking too that it had been fun and she hadn't actually come thinking of the win. So far most of her challenges were simply for fun, though this time something was actually on the line. It was Mr. Parsons.

"I know that I won, but I came to trade my regalia, not to take yours away," she said as she glanced back at Mr. Parsons, and saw him nod in agreement.

"I'm willing to take whomever you want to give up," Celeste said as she glanced at Mr. Glister but also had the odd feeling there was someone else in play. Gask and his regalia seemed too well-suited, perhaps.

"You came to trade, of course. I am still attempting to learn from Mr. Glister, so I am not inclined to trade him."

Gask scratched his cheek and pulled out his cell phone. "I have another partnered Regalia however that you might be interested in. Her name is Clarice and I believe she might find your company more pleasant than mine."

He made a call and spoke briefly to ask Clarice to come and see Celeste. "It will be a few minutes before she can get here. I enjoyed our challenge though. I need to brush up on my critical thinking and align my thinking more so with this world's norms rather than my own."

"Really?" Celeste remarked curiously when he told her there was another regalia, a woman, and that they might be suited, or at least that she might enjoy her company more than Mr. Glister´s.

"And yes, the challenge was very enjoyable. My students sometimes play 20 questions in class. Always amazes me how fast they guess sometimes," she told Gask, "Maybe it's because they are the same age group so they tend to think of the same things, who knows?" she said with a smile as they waited amicably.

"Are you studying here, at the Academy?" she asked curiously.

Gask nodded and checked his fingernails again. "That makes sense, yes. They are in the same cohort and have a comparative culture, all living on the island as they do." He spoke like he was reading out of a textbook. "And yes, in a sense. I graduated with my diploma recently, and went directly into Scout training. It seems like the best fit fr me."

Mr. Glister cleared his throat and Gask turned to look at him. Then he settled his eyes on Celeste. "What about you? You teach home economics, yes? I assume you enjoy that subject? I am not a particularly skilled cook. I can cook meat properly, but seasonings and more advanced techniques escape me."

"I do teach Home Ec, and yes, I really enjoy cooking, baking, home arrangement, decoration, that kind of thing," Celeste knew she sounded a little like magical Martha Stewart type person, but she enjoyed the simplest things in life, things that might be considered old-fashioned or even not needed on an island of magical beings.

"I also enjoy imparting that knowledge, sharing with others," she admitted, "Probably why I became a teacher actually."

"Meat is a tricky thing to cook well actually. A few seconds too long can take a steak from tender to tough," she said, "And truthfully, salt is basically all you need at times." she confessed, knowing that people thought they needed to use spices, but it wasn't true. Foods, meat, especially, had its own delicious flavour that didn't need to be masked in her opinion.

"Sorry, I ramble sometimes when it comes to cooking," Celeste stated, knowing that she could sometimes talk for hours about food-related subjects.

Gask listened intently, not interrupting and merely learning what little tidbits he could from what Celestes said. He made a mental note to find and read some books on cooking. Maybe he could make something special for Valli.

Mr. Glister tapped him on the shoulder and Gask turned to look. Clarice had arrived, and Gask stepped to the side to allow her and Celeste to see each other properly. She introduced herself, looking Celeste over and relaxing a bit. "She reminds me of home a bit..." she said with a sheepish smile.

Celeste watched with interest as a young tawny-haired woman, early twenties, maybe the same age as Celeste, but dressed a tad more conservatively in a button-down cardigan and knee-length shirt, appeared. Seeing the young woman, Celeste nodded in satisfaction, almost immediately drawn to her, feeling a protective, motherly instinct despite being - looking the same age.

"Mr. Parsons?" Celeste said hesitantly as she looked behind her at her regalia, "No problem my dear," he said as he walked over to the group of men. "I think we will get along swimmingly" he confessed as he glanced approvingly at Gask and Mr. Glister, "It has been a pleasure, my dear Celeste, and I wish you well in the rest of the challenge."
