"Maybe that's why it's not used anymore. It's the age of technology... But neh, steam isn't all bad. I don't think," Aoi thought out loud, looking off towards a tooting ship.

She loked over to the person who was kinda lighter hearted than when she first met him. "By the way, what's your name? I'm Aoi Akizuki."

He chuckled, "I'm Percy, it's nice to meet you Miss Akizuki." He said with a smile offering to shake hands with the young girl. After becoming a vampire at a young age and being treated badly he vowed he'd never create the same hurts he suffered. He treated all younger ages with respect and dignity.

He looked at the steam ship and sighed. "I don't know... they just seem to move too fast to take things easy in life."

Noticing that he wanted to shake hands, she quickly grabbed it and shook it, really hard. Letting go, she giggled at his formality. "Percy's a cool name."

"You must really like wasting your time, really. The only reason why they even get with technology is 'cuz it goes fast, like, zooom!" she said, emphazing on the zoom with a hand.

He chuckled, he never thought his name was cool. This girl was a odd fun girl, "Yes I enjoy wasting my time..." He figured he had enough of time anyway, so why not waste it a little. He liked her oddity on illustriating the zoom part, he smiled. "So Miss Akizuki I take it you like things to go fast and speedy like whoosh... and speed right by. But would you like a speedy ice cream that melted before you could enjoy it?" He asked trying to make a point that things sometimes were needed to be savored.

"Oh, well. Food is good. But everything else is e-fis-ent," she said, prouncing the last word purposefully.

Her face lighted into a smile when she remembered, "But ice cream doesn't move fast! It can't move, neh. But I get what you're saying," she added, totally thinking that he thought she was an immature brat.

"My mom likes doing things very fast," she commented. "So I kind of like being speedy too. She can do a ton of things in like, a snap."

[Oh Noes! She's becoming sane again!]

He chuckled, "So you like speed and don't like to savor a good book or a wonderful day with everything being wonderful? If not I bet you must have a lot of them unlike myself." He said to her not trying to get pity, but trying to make a point that savoring moments was important to one's happiness.

"Your mom's grown up, she has to do things fast or she won't be able to have fun. Mothers are like that, or at least mine was. But she always had time to do something fun." He never could forget his mother's love for him and her kind sweet voice and her delicious deserts.

Happiness... At that, her eyes lost of shine and she rambled on, more or less without too much enthusiasm before.

"I paint for fun. People say I'm good at it. They said I should become professional, or something," she said, informatively without her usual spark. She shrugged, "My mom needs to work to get money. I almost never see her. My dad too. Work was more important than me. I'm an only child, so I had no one to play with."

She poked her hand and a small ruffled doll popped out. The cloth was soft, and it was plushy to the touch. It's most apparent feature was a crooked threaded smile on his face. "See, this is Mister Smiles, he smiles when I don't have to," Aoi said, almost chipperly.

He noticed her sadness, he guess her parents didn't care much for her regardless of the money they made for her. He listened to her.

He looked at her, "You know maybe because of your talent they wanted to work harder so that you could grow up with abilities to go and be wherever you wanted without being poor or unable to." He said trying to make her feel better, he hadn't a clue if her parents were just jerks or if they were looking out for her future.

"See, this is Mister Smiles, he smiles when I don't have to,"

"Mister Smiles looks smiley no doubt, you must be glad to have him around. A faithful friend no doubt, I'm sure you and Mister Smiles are good friends."

She offered a small smile. "Maybe. Or maybe not. I guessed they just liked working."

She patted the plushie faithfully. "Well, we've been together for a pretty long time. But he broke sometime ago, and I couldn't put him back together. This Mister Smiles," she pointed, "-is just a replica, one that is made from my powers. My mom offered to buy a new one. But, I liked Mister Smiles with scratches and worned cloth. He is soft."

She puppeted the purple toy around, "Hello, Mister Percy," the doll hopped around the sand, Aoi speaking for it with a small high-pitched tone. "How are you today on this fine morning?"

"Maybe. Or maybe not. I guessed they just liked working."

"Maybe, but you know what." He said with a small grin on his face. "I bet they truly loved you and didn't know how to show it because you were just so special to them." He said with a smile poking her lightly trying to cheer her up.

"I bet he is, and you know he must feel really loved because you carry him with you. I bet your parents wished they could've carried you with them to work." He said trying to encourage the young girl, he hated it when someone was upset.

"Hello, Mister Percy, How are you today on this fine morning?"

"Well Mister Smiles, I feel much better than I did before I met Aoi. Aoi is a very kind girl to talk to me." He said to Mister Smiles, he wondered why the girl felt so sad at times.
