She nodded again, eyes gazing towards the distant seas. Out of the corner of her eye, she finally noticed that he was wearing all black. And just noticed that he was wearing black. All Black.

"Aren't you hot?" she asked, remembering that it was a really hot day and the sand was baking. She pointed at his clock, which he had also seem to like on hot days. She was one person who usually changed her clothes according to the weather.

"Nah... I can't have the sun touch me or else my skin gets burnt. It's painful stuff, best to wear a lot and block the sun then try to look normal." He said looking at the girl, his eyes searched the horizon. He did it partly out of boredom and partly out of habit. He liked the sight of old fashion ships catching the wind, but there were only new fashioned ships out on the water today.

He wondered if this girl knew much about the past, Percy himself knew a lot about the past. A lot of the time he seemed to know more than any history book teacher.

"Ah. It's not fun not feeling the sun, really. But it's kinda for your own safety, but trying to act normal after wearing a ton of clothing, black kind especially, is kiiiinda hard," she chirped, pointing out the obvious.

Noting where he was looking, she looked out to sea. "Do you like boats or something? I never went on any of them; so I've never went on it, not a bit, eh, not at all," she corrected herself.

She relaxed her legs, reassuming her form previous of having jumping out.

He chuckled, "I know it's not normal, but if I felt the sun I'd be unable to leave my bed for three days. I'm extremely sensitive to it because of the vampire that bit me." He explained, "Besides I'm used to it, and black is what I feel like wearing because I don't feel like any other color."

"Do you like boats or something? I never went on any of them; so I've never went on it, not a bit, eh, not at all,"

"I do like old fashioned sailing ships, but I'm not for the ugly steamships. They seem so gross and just ugly." He said seeing a steamship and the cloud of smoke following it.

Her face lit up. "It's kind of like me. I like bright colors, 'cuz I feel like it. But three days? That's a long time to stay in bed."

"I do like old fashioned sailing ships, but I'm not for the ugly steamships. They seem so gross and just ugly."

"Ah, ah, those, those, big schooner thingies? Things that go over the water in the middle 1800s?" she questioned, completely ignorant that she was using things she had learned in History class.

She placed a finger on her lips in a weird thinking position, before realizing that she left her sentence hanging.

"Steamships? Those smokey things? Pollutes the environment, yes, but. I dunno. You know what you're talking about, neh?"

"Yeah, it is. Hence why I can't swim or stay in the sun without clothing on all of me. Or else I hurt like I was stung by a porcupine, and that would hurt terribly."

"Ah, ah, those, those, big schooner thingies? Things that go over the water in the middle 1800s?"

"Yes, those are them. But I personally think the word schooner is kinda weird. I don't like referring to such a graceful vessel as a schooner, it sounds ugly." He explained to her.

He smiled looking at the way she thought, she looked rather amusing with her fingers on her lips in a weird thinking position. He never met such a amusing little girl. He almost thought that she was the younger sister he never had.

"Steamships? Those smokey things? Pollutes the environment, yes, but. I dunno. You know what you're talking about, neh?"

"Yeah, they are hideous looking compared to the well carved ships of the 1800's. Those ships with the beautiful white sails some black or other colors but all big and graceful on the sea catching the every wind. It's a shame they don't use them anymore and when they do it's rare." He said thoughtfully.

"Ouch," she said, wincing an eye closed. She saw those things on TV and the cats did not look like they liked it.

"Yes, those are them. But I personally think the word schooner is kinda weird. I don't like referring to such a graceful vessel as a schooner, it sounds ugly."

"Well, that's what they refer fast ships too in the history books, neh. But frigates are battleships. It's kinda funny how they sound much more complex long ago," she said, smiling. Honestly, she opened a boo or two and just read, trying to find out the designs of these ships and trying and failing to draw them several times.

Aoi hung her head thoughtfully. "Any," she said hesistantly, continuing, "-more?" She only saw those fancy ships in museums, but only pictured, so she couldn't realy imagine what it'd be like for it to ride the waves.

"I thought they don't use it any more 'cuz it takes too long."

"Ouch,"

Percy chuckled glad she understood how painful it was, he did like sunlight. He just didn't like it to hit his flesh because of the pain that would come. He was extremely sensitive to it, he wished he wasn't though.

"Well, that's what they refer fast ships too in the history books, neh. But frigates are battleships. It's kinda funny how they sound much more complex long ago,"

He chuckled, "You know your boats I'm guessing, read a lot of books?" He asked wondering how such a little girl would know that kind of information. He didn't mind the fact that she was so young, it was odd for a 400 year old to enjoy a chat with a much younger girl.

"Any, -more?"

He watched her as she thought, he liked how she always thought in such odd ways. He wondered what the girl's family was like and if she happened to have many friends. He wondered if her life was a happy one or if it was painful.

"I thought they don't use it any more 'cuz it takes too long."

He chuckled, "People these days are too worried about time, a nice long ship ride isn't going to kill anyone unless they do something stupid like jump ship. I personally think maybe waiting longer would be good for some people."

"Me, read?" she happily asked. "Nah, I just study their format and stuff so I can draw it. I only just remember what they're called because they were in something like alphabetical order, or something. I remember things that are strange too."

When he said "jump ship," it set her mind rolling. What would be nicer than enjoying a cruise and all of a sudden, they fall out? She giggled at the thought, but because of the deep waters, she reconsidered against it.

"Or maybe 'cuz, they don't have the stuff to build it with and can't afford several months building it to sink into the sea after like, five or so months. Or they can't survive long ship rides? Or they are much more inconvient, and they can be seasick?" she suggested, though she always prefered fast things. They always have this sorta zoom! or fwosh! to it.

He chuckled, she was a very odd and strange little girl. Smart yet simple yet not in a bad way, yet childish but not annoyingly so. He wondered what kind of enviroment this girl was brought up in. He found she was very amusing and fun to listen to reguardless of her age.

He chuckled even more, "They don't last only 5 months, it depends on how one takes care of the vessel. If used properly it would last much longer, but since a long of them were attacked by pirates and often had many cannons shoot holes in the boat. If the hull broke or the main board which all the boat is made on were to brake then the boat would be rendered useless." He tended to know too much for his own good.
