Aftermath of a BAD drink [Poptart]

Kaya had awoken the next morning wondering a couple of things. First was hoping that she had helped Lei get away from the bullies he had used the party to get away from. Second was why in all the damned hells was her skin on fire! She hurt and it hurt bad, not like she could take the day off of school, she had things to get ready for campaigning soon. So slowly she got off her huge bed with silk sheets to her closet. She removed the "party" cloths and put on different clothing. She found that the touch of cloth on her skin made the fire go away so putting on a long sleeve shirt even if the material was thick for this time of year, and she dug around till she found a pair of normal length pants.

After she put things away she opened a portal through to the usual apartment build....no...this was different...it was the college part of the school. Why did her portal end up here? If she had been in bed then she obviously had gone home. She looked around and regretted it as her eyes constricted and seem to want to join her brain in her skull. With a whimper of pain she crouched holding her eyes as she balled her fists as her eye returned to normal. This was going to be a LONG day.

Laying her head down on the cafeteria table...the nice cool table. The noise of the day was gone. When she had entered her classes, especially history, her head felt like it was ready to detach at eye level and partly explode and implode. She didn't answer anything and had to keep herself paying attention to the teacher. All the while pain creeped throughout her body. Her clothing had stopped working near half way through the day and her skin was covered in molten lead. Even just sitting here in the empty cafeteria she couldn't stop the pain all over her body. Even her hooves and horned seemed to have nerve endings JUST to spite her need for less pain.

that's when she heard foot steps coming towards her. She peeked over her arm to see Lei coming towards her silhouetted by light which made her cornia dilate painfully (she knew cause she looked in a mirror to see what was happening earlier in the day) "What was in that delicious liquid?" she asked to the approaching Lei. She found it was the last thing she remembered after waking up that morning.

"That stuff was LSD?! When you humans talk about it you say it is bitter. It was like thin fast moving honey. It was sweet and sugary..." she said while burying her face into her arms with her hair curtaining everything else. He was speaking kind of loudly and he seemed angry... What did she do last night? "All I remember is you were being chased into the party. So I went home disguised myself and followed you in. Stuff gets fuzzy there and I remember drinking the...LSD, then I kissed some one. I...don't know what happened after that and I woke up feeling like my blood wasn't moving and my skin and muscles on fire."

She couldn't quite put two and two together before more people started to stream in which made her head pound as they kept coming. She tried to stand so she could leave but she felt her legs not accepting her weight
"Lei can you help please? I can't stay here...it hurts"

"Honestly Lei I didn't know what the drink was and I was in a haze of other peoples sexual tensions that I don't even remember who I kissed. Then after that its all black. Nothing else until this morning with fire skin..." she limited her movements to minimize her discomforts and pain. She knew she really needed to leave, the pain was not dissipating and to her it sounded like fifty marching bands were playing on top of her head with metal cleats.

Then he said that she could have hurt someone if it hadn't been him. Slowly she turned her head trying to look at Lei. There was a tear in her eye from the pain. Before she asked anything she could see a hurt in his features and when she asked for help getting up he spoke as if he had a disgusting taste on his tongue. "What did I do?" she asked slowly. Her tone was as if she really didn't want to know.

But before he could answer and turn the knife that was in her gut she spoke up again holding back tears. "I...am...so sorry. I'm a monster... You were my friend. And I did something, something horrible..." she could stop herself, she started crying. Not for herself but for ruining a friendship she essentially fought to forge. In a way she had hurt Lei and she didn't feel like she deserved him as a friend.

As she sobbed quietly to her table she began to curl up into as small of a ball as possible. "I didn't mean to...im sorry...so sorry" she said in a hoarse whisper in between sobs and racking pain that only made her hurt worse.

Kaya could not stop crying, she wanted to but she was glad she at least wasn't making noise. Although everyone else seemed to be as she felt their eyes on her which only made it worse for herself. She didn't know what to do at all and all over she was hurting, hurting to her bones, deep into her muscles, and psychologically.

That's when Lei touched her and that part of her skin cooled down. It felt nice and the feeling was spreading and it made her smile a little and close her eyes as she felt contact with another person. It just felt nice to be touched. Kaya looked to Lei with red tear filled eyes and whispered a "Thank you." to him.

"I just need to get someplace quiet so I can concentrate to portal home, hopefully once I get there it will get better." She quieted down as she felt her brain try to break open her skull as they went from the cafeteria to the noisey bustle of the hall. All she wanted to do was fold in half so far that she escaped from reality itself but she felt the island of peace that Lei's arm gave her to push on even if she was crying due to the pain.

Sitting down and putting her back against the wall and let herself experience the silence. The biggest part of her that was hurting was now going numb to the pain as its nerve endings were no longer being bludgeoned by the sounds of others. Being both physically and mentally exhausted she sat there silently listening to Lei breath.

After a minute she looked over to him and smiled in a friendly way. "We make quite the pair of frenemies don't we. I think I owe you twice now. From saving me and possibly others at that party and now because of this..." she choked a little on a lump in her throat before clearing it and trying to continue. "I truly am a monster aren't I." Kaya said that more as a fact then a question but she hoped that lei would argue against it.
