The two talked casually for a few minutes, making their way down the dimly lit hallway. As Nerike finished her story, Loralei began to walk beside her.

'Interesting people...How fun! I wonder if there is other Nixies here, The girl thought with a twinge of interest. It had been years since she had seen her family. She knew of mermaids, as they were considered to be the 'cousins that lived in the salty water'.

Loralei's black hair swished about as she told a succinct story of her own origins. As Nerike tried to understand the meaning of "shady", she realized they had already arrived at the desk she had originally meant to go to.
She put her long, pale hands on the counter and looked around and Loralei pushed on a metal device. It made a light ringing sound, to her absolute delight. However when no person came, Loralei became impatient. Nerike watched curiously for awhile.

"Are we too late...?"
"O-Oh no..." the girl rubbed her temples. "Flat tires are stupid." Mumbling more about human contraptions, she stood on her tiptoes and looked over the desk. A large desktop computer, which Nerike did not quite know about yet, was turned off. It was obvious whoever usually worked there was not present.

A thought popped into the brunette's simple head. "Is there pond here? I could stay there." It was a bit of a silly and impractical idea, but that was just her style.

"Or maybe not.."

<div align=center>With the poor girl getting off to a rough start already it wasn't at all beneficial that these people weren't answering in a timely manner, if they would at all. Loralei's hopes were beginning to dash a bit, but not to worry. She had a plan.

"Yeah they are. That's why I don't drive unless I have to." She could poof anywhere whenever she wanted. Why have a car for that? On any case her focus wasn't on that. If the girl couldn't register she couldn't get a dorm. If she didn't have a dorm, where was she going to stay? Well as soon as she offered an idea, Loralei intervened.

"Nah, I don't want you to go out alone." Sure she could probably handle it but it was something of a stupid guilty conscience from letter her do so. Time for her to be charitable. "If we need to you can stay in my dorm for tonight. I got a sofa bed, or if you prefer I can uh... Fill the bathtub with pond water or something for ya." She offered with a shrug, knowing the latter idea was unorthodox. Still the question remained- "Would you wanna do that?" Besides it gave her an excuse to use magic. She wanted to help and was made for it. At least she'd get points for being a good genie.</div>
