So my character Lycia has an extremely active imagination which fuels the Dream world she creates every night. Theoretically just a bunch of simulated adventures not unlike a VR, but responsive to the minds and ideas of the dreamers inside it. But what if there was actually a little more power involved in the Dream?
What if some of those apparent NPCs... were a little less background and a little more flesh and blood. Like actually in the real world? That's the plot idea I'm working on.
Somehow a group of "adventurers" who were sent to rescue the Princess of Light and Wonder from the clutches of Dark Baron Kara Hakan, secretly re-imagined versions of Lycia and her father King Kara Corus, went to sleep around their campfire one night, as they made their way though the deserts towards the Obsidian Spire, and the next night they found themselves waking up in random places within 1 mile of the Starlight Academy dorms. With of course security personnel responding to the clearly armed arrivals if one or all of them actually come through on the campus itself.
I'm looking for a small group to create characters for this plot. Effectively they will be fulfilling roles of a "traditional adventuring party" except for whatever reason they are all female and all similar in age to Lycia. Because this is coming more or less from her own image of herself. The short term goal for the plot is for them to realize they are in fact in the "real world" and actually come across the real version of Lycia. They would likely feel a desire to be protective of her, but feelings of resentment and confusion or whatever other little twists you might like to include are welcomed. Just I would ask it be discussed with me. Long term goals eventually include the group (or some of them) traveling back on a legit adventure with Lycia to her home dimension to help her in her eventual quest to convince her father that she should remain on Manta Carlos. But that is not something that would even occur to Lycia for a while
Effectively the party would include 4-5 adventurers played by other members, with myself most likely playing an additional character. Even if not all the slots are filled, as long as there are a couple people the plot should still work.
A tank- kaya
A rogue or ranger- unclaimed
A mage- Pallas
A healer- keen
Special?- Kada
Possible additional idea as needed/as can be explained. One or more of the above "slots" might be adjusted to fit your ideas if they make sense

- Characters will be all females and human, with a target age of around 16-18
- Their abilities will be fairly low-powered but thematic towards a traditional/classic fantasy party (think d&d style though do not want just copied actual d&d abilities)
- They will all believe they met two years ago and began their adventuring days hunting down lesser criminals and goblinoids in small desert towns, despite the fact that they are potentially too young for that to be true. They will not realize they were effectively figments of a dream until some point after meeting Lycia but might still reject that reality if you wish.
- They are all friends with eachother. There are no lone wolves in the party. Banter and minor rivalries, disagreements and slightly varied ideals are perfectly fine but in the end they all are bonded together quite closely.
- They all have the following passive in common:
- Dream-touched- Each night, regardless of where they sleep, instead of normal dreams they will re-enter Lycia's Dream world until either they or she wakes up. Additionally they feel an innate draw towards Lycia. Less a compulsion though, and more of a gut feeling that she is important to them.
