The counselor gave Irene a small smile and a shrug, leafing through some paperwork that they had on Shara and other things that they would need for the process.

"If I'm being honest with you, I was worried she would be one of the ones left behind. It breaks my heart, honestly. To see a child so thoroughly broken down like that. Of course if you need anything even after the process is completed, you can always call us."

Handing over the paperwork to Irene, the counselor's smile fell just a bit as their own tiredness began to catch up to them. "I do hope things work out well for you both. Now if you'll excuse me..."

Irene nodded. From how the counselor had reacted during the little chat he'd guessed little Shara had met with a number of others before him. And clearly things hadn't really worked out. "I appreciate it. It has been quite a while since the last time I was a father figure. But I dont plan to let the poor girl down if I can help it."

And then the mountain of paperwork was passed to him. Some to be filled out that day and other that would take a significant amount of time to find all the proper documents to attach. A process indeed.

"Good luck with the rest of your interviews. I'll just fill out what I can here and then take the rest home to fill out there." There was no need to delay the counselor any longer. Though Irene did kind of wish he could help ease that exhaustion that they seemed to be so obviously displaying. "Maybe take a short lunch or coffee break or something. You look like you need it."

But he was gesturing to the counselor that they could leave. He'd depart too fairly soon.
