Sometimes Castiel that he was still at a high school with regular classes. It wasn’t all telekinesis control and magical history. He was glad that there were still classes like Algebra II and World History. It reminded him that these were all just regular kids with unnatural tendencies and appearances. It reminded him that he was still just a regular kid with not-so-regular powers. Although, just because he had telekinesis didn’t mean that math wasn’t still boring. In fact, the only class he really enjoyed was Literature. He loved reading. Books were a magical place where anything can come true, but unlike the real world, you can quit reading whenever you wanted. He also had a knack for writing. He enjoyed writing down ideas and essentially see them come to life. He wasn’t really a fan fiction writer, but he posted most of his stuff to sites like A3. He’d call his writing abilities ‘above average’.

When he heard they were getting a creative writing assignment, he was overjoyed. When he heard they were to work in pairs, not so much. He ended getting paired up with some 11th-grade girl. The perks of being in an advanced class were that he was able to learn more on his level, but the downside was that he was stuck in a class of 11[sup]th[/sup] graders. When they’d been forced to discuss, all they’d ended up discussing was where the hell to meet to write the damn thing. After minutes of back and forth, they decided on Castiel’s. He’d been reluctant to agree, but he was sure it was going to be clean (at least on his side of the room.) He had no reason to not oblige.

So here he was on a Saturday, waiting on an 11[sup]th[/sup] grader, sitting on his twin bed, typing furiously on his computer. Any time he had to do something he didn’t want to do, he made a rant about it. Whether or not he posted it to Tumblr determined on its length and amount of swear words. At least his roommates were both out today.

Avatia tried to give up her shy personality and forced herself to be more confident. Instead of giving a weak knock and a small "Hello?" she knocked on the door hard and made her voice boom with assertiveness. "Avatia is here! Are you ready to work?" When she stopped talking she instantly felt a bit silly about what she did. The shows she watched made it seem like the quieter you were, the more vulnerable you were to being hurt. She didn't want to be pushed around for being awkward and quiet, but she also didn't like raising her voice much. Then there were other shows made it seem like being quiet was an attractive trait in a female and made her mysterious. Maybe mysterious wasn't that bad to be...

She waited patiently for her partner, it was his place after all. From what she could recall, his name was Castle, and someone with that name must have been pretty important. He could be getting dressed or eating or starting the project without her. The last one she didn't mind too much, since that meant he was already prepared. The idea of missing out on the creative process annoyed her a bit, but there was no proof he was starting already.

Just in case Castle didn't prepare, Avatia had a jar full of ideas for their project and what they could write about. She heard of this thing where a person would put small pieces of paper in a jar, then jumble them up together to pick out an idea. She used that idea herself to write story ideas on those pieces of paper, then when Castle and her worked together they would jumble them together, and finally Castle would have the first pick. If they didn't have any ideas for what they picked they would just replay the process until they got something. Some ideas she took straight from books and the internet, but some were her own original ideas. Her favorite plot ideas came from stories where a criminal meets a good person and they go on adventures together. Eventually, the two realize they have many things in common and then they come very close friends. There were so many books that she read about based on that premise that she felt confident that making a story based on them would be easy.

Castiel nearly dropped his laptop when he heard a large voice boom from the other side of the door. He assumed it was his writing partner. He set down his laptop very carefully (he didn’t want to break it) and slammed the top shut as hard as he could. His poor laptop, it had gone through some shit. Somewhat fuming from the way his partner had decided to greet him, he trudged towards the door. On the plus side, he now knew what his partner’s name was. Avatia. He guessed it matched her appearance, maybe?

He slammed open the door with the saltiest look he was able to have. It wasn’t entirely purposeful, but he hadn’t even been able to finish his post. He couldn’t even hide any salt in his voice, either. “Castiel is here too. Come in.” He should’ve been cast as a hunter on Supernatural, because he had endless amounts of salt. He wasn’t entirely sure why, either. This girl had just interrupted him, so he didn’t know why he was so worked up. Maybe it was that he’d been partnered even after he’d specifically asked to be alone, but he didn’t want to believe he was that petty. He was probably just having one of his angsty 15-year-old days. Yeah.

Avatia didn't understand why Castiel seemed so angry, but he couldn't be that angry if he allowed her inside so easily. He even showed her what his actual name was. Castiel. Not Castle. He also didn't seem to mind her appearance, which was nice for a change. For a moment she hoped that her jar would make him look happier, but she herself didn't even bother to look happy by human standards. Her face had an annoyed look to it with her eyebrows furrowing and her mouth tightened. She wasn't trying to look annoyed, it just felt the most natural until someone pointed it out to her.

When she fully entered she floated in place, waiting for him to close the door and lead her to where they would further discuss their ideas. All she did for the moment though was show him the jar filled with pieces of paper with scribbles on them. "I got us ideas. Want to see?" she asked him.

[BCOLOR=transparent]He sighed. He already felt quite tired of working. “Sorry. I’m just in a shitty mood right now.” Castiel at least wanted to give an excuse so that he didn’t just seem like a person who only knew how to be grumpy. As for Avatia, she looked quite annoyed. He’d be pretty annoyed if he got greeted like that too, so he didn’t blame here. He walked behind her to close the door. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Uh, you can just sit down wherever, I guess.” Castiel told her before quickly remembering she didn’t have legs. Whether or not this was a harmful statement, he didn’t know nor particularly care at that point. He kind of hoped she wouldn’t take offense, because judging from the way she’d ‘greeted’ him, it seemed like she could do some damage.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Yeah, sure.” He replied. He hadn’t really brainstormed anything yet. His experience from group writing projects was that you shouldn’t start without the others. Even if it’s a good idea, they won’t like it because they didn’t get to help. [/BCOLOR]

She wondered why he was in such a bad mood, but he didn't seem to care enough to just explain. Instead, he said she could sit wherever, so she shape-shifted herself a pair of legs and sat onto the couch. At least he was willing to see her ideas, so she held out the jar for him to take and gave an eager, but small, smile. "We can make new ones if you'd like, but this can boost our creativity juices and get the ball rolling." Avatia was slowly getting used to using idioms.
