Ignatius was not easily impressed. In fact, he could count the number of times he'd been impressed in the last week on a single hand, and that was counting Eliana.

Because he was impressed, one way or another. She seemed sensible and to the point, both traits he looked for in people, regardless of what he was looking at them for. She seemed polite, professional, and easy to work with, and Ignatius was mentally ticking them off in his head.

"I'll see if there's anything applicable within the company. I can't imagine we don't have anything, and it would make it more believable." Even if the timelines didn't match up to him, no one would know when whatever it was was filmed. "Beyond that, I can't think of anything - The first event will be two weeks from now, on the friday. It'll be semi-formal dress, so wear a dress, but not a ballgown." He almost wanted to say 'something attractive', but he couldn't quite bring himself to actually say it.

Not that Ignatius had to say it. Eliana never wore anything that wasn't attractive. Then, maybe her idea of attractive wasn't the same as his.

Eliana stood and pulled a crisp white card from her pocket and held it out to him. "It's a deal then."

The card was done in minimalistic professional print:

Eliana Ria
364-555-2801

Truthfully, Eliana tended to use this cards only because it got tiring having to write her number down multiple times a night, but she supposed, in situations like this, it served to make her appear more professional. It might have also given off that whole 'I do acting' vibe.

She even had a card. Ignatius was officially, properly impressed. He took it in thick fingers, eyes scanning across the number. Minimalist, but proper. The exact kind of card someone in her position should have.

He set it down in the corner of his desk, making sure it was placed neatly before he stood up.

"Thank you for coming - I'll see you at four on friday two weeks from now." He felt fairly confident that she'd remember such a basic instruction. "You can come dressed if you'd like, or simply change here. If you'll need a ride home, I can also arrange for that on the day of." There might be (although Ignatius himself did not partake) some amount of drinking, and he was nothing if not careful with small details like that. Even if most people felt they'd be fine driving after a single drink, Ignatius preferred excessive amounts of caution.

Eliana shook her head. "I'll be fine to drive."

And she would, even though she drank alcohol like it was water.

She bowed her head in a goodbye and held out her hand for a quick shake. "I'll see you in two weeks.

Two weeks came and went. Eliana kept herself busy, but she had bought a few more, less black and gothy dresses. She wore something fancy without it being "flashy". Not exactly her style, but it looked good on her nonetheless.

The dress was a pale purple, with sleeves that cut at the elbows. The upper half material was courser in material than the rippling, layered lower half, and it was designed to look like leaves. A thin band wove around her waist to better show off her curves without being unsavory.

Eliana's hair wasn't quite long enough to do much with, but she did tuck it behind her ears to come off more presentable and added a light layer of make-up to her face, not that she needed it.

She drove her new (possibly stolen, possibly bought) silver Lexus sedan to his office to meet him.

Ignatius was always presentable. It was simply a matter of how presentable he was supposed to be on any given day. The event was not a big one, because he wasn't stupid enough to take an untested actor out to a major event the first time around, but it was formal enough. He wore a black suit jacket over a grey shirt, but he had a rather brightly colored red tie to offset it. It wasn't an unusual outfit for him, and he easily could have worn it to work without raising an eyebrow.

He was waiting in the lobby when she arrived, and he gestured her towards an office to the side of the lobby, stepping inside himself. It wasn't his office, but it was a general meeting room, and it made more sense to coordinate themselves there then to take the elevator up and then back down again.

Once the door was safely closed, he went right to work, giving her appearance no more than a cursory glance. For all her aura's effects, it was doing absolutely nothing for him - he was already impressed from her behavior at their first meeting.

"How long have we been together, and how did we meet?" If she couldn't remember what they'd discussed, then they needed to go over it again before they left.

"We met during a promotional video and had been together for three weeks," Eliana said without hesitation.

Look, she lied all the time, and she almost always remembered them. She was just one big web of lies.

Well, he hadn't stopped being impressed, but she hadn't disappointed him either, so he supposed that counted. He nodded approvingly, checking his watch before gesturing to the door.

"Then we should get going. The drivers waiting outside." As they walked towards the car (which was, while a nice car, not anything insanely expensive). He pulled the back open himself, ushering her in before getting in himself and starting to brief her.

"The event is fairly low key. There will probably be about twenty or thirty people there. It's a benefit for the Manta Carlos library system, and they'll be granting awards to two local authors. As a donator, I get an automatic invite. I expect the authors and their significant others will be there, a few other benefactors, and likely some amount of the libraries upper management." He hadn't read either of the award winning books, so he could hardly brief her on either of those. "You won't be expected to know anyone, so there will be no need to fake your way through that."

Eliana wondered what the winning books were. She didn't often read, not enough time, but she didn't not read, either.

Mentally shrugging, she tuned back into what Ignatius was saying and nodded her understanding. She didn't bother saying anything; she was too busy being excited at the prospect of a fancy party.

She didn't go to a lot of those, mostly because they were easy to get bored of, but she liked the idea of going in there and tricking everyone. All the deceit, all the fake sweetness people at those events handed out like candy. Too much fun.

The party went as it usually did. He swept in, immediately commanding everyone's attention based on size alone. He'd gotten used to it a long time ago. When you were as tall as Ignatius was, everyone was going to look when you entered a room, and while the attention would fade away after a moment, it was always going to happen.

He cut through the crowd, finding an elderly man who was standing alone near the edge, gesturing Eliana forward. He gave proper introductions for the both of them, introducing the man as the head of the library, and introducing Eliana as his girlfriend. The old man didn't look particularly surprised to see Ignatius with someone nearly half his age, and Ignatius made only the smallest bit of small talk before moving on.

He made it through three more introductions before he guided her over to the side, turning to face her properly.

"Doing alright?"

While much smaller than the man she had attended with, Eliana drew her own sort of attention, but the attention on her seemed to stick. Not many people gawked, but plenty of them, men and women alike, snuck glances at her. Some of them were surprised that they stole glimpses, but others, not so much.

To each person Eliana met, she played the part as it was expected of her. It gave her a kind of thrill, all the lying. Maybe she liked lying too much. Did she have a problem?

She had kept a drink of wine with her throughout the event, and when Ignatius pulled her to the side and turned to her (totally towering over her like woah).

"Doing magnificent," she grinned before taking a small sip of her drink.

The smile she shot him was one that suggested she was totally talking about her acting performance, which was brilliant in her opinion. But then, what didn't Eliana do brilliantly?
