Emma crossed her arms as she looked anxiously around. She was waiting for someone whom she had never met. A drug dealer. This had all started when she had overheard another classmate talking about a new drug. He had been telling the story of his experience with it, and how amazing it was. Under any normal circumstance she would never even consider such things. But she believed her home life was unbearable. Her parents worked to often, and were constantly trying to push her out the door and make friends with people she wasn't comfortable with. This would surely cause a ruffle in things. She had asked the student to "Hook her up" but he had explained he didn't have any. Instead he made a call to his dealer and she was supposed to meet him to make her own exchange. A back alley just off the strip. It was out of sight, and a good place to make a deal.

Emma pulled the hood of her hoodie up, to hide for face. Not like people wouldn't be able to identify her by her tail, but somehow this felt more comfortable. In her pocket she had a roll of money for the exchange ready to go. This was how they did these sort of things in the movies and on TV. Now all she had to worry about was an entire swat team descending on her at any moment. (At least that's what the movies had led her to believe was the biggest threat) She looked around again, her nerves getting the better of her. At any moment she expected a rough looking thug to approach her and say he had the stuff. But alas there was no one immediately in sight. At least nobody who looked like a drug pushing thug.

"Where are they?" She muttered to herself as she turned her gaze to the dirty concrete below her. She made a mental note to shower later, the ground here was filthy.

Was it truly that wise for the head of a criminal enterprise to be the one that’s out on the streets selling drugs to some kid? The answer was it definitely was not, however Gyres was so bored with being holed up at the main base that he just needed to get out and do something. So when the possible drug deal came to Gyres he jumped at it and hurried out to do the deal in person.

As Gyres finally entered the alleyway he wore his standard ornate metal armor, Gyres was also wearing a full face helmet with heavy bird imagery. Behind him was a giant of a man, most likely of demonic descent. They toward over Gyres and simply followed behind him. Gyres didn’t originally plan to have any other men with him for the deal, however his second-in-command kept insisting he bring at least one for added protection. Gyres walked down the alley and stopped just a few feet infront of Emma. He was quiet for a moment, inspecting her, before finally speaking. “So your the kid huh? Don’t really look like the kinda kid that gets this sort of stuff.”

Emma had not heard the man and his guard approaching her. Her thoughts were caught up in how she had planned to handle this. When she heard his voice interrupt her thoughts she was visibly startled and let out a squeak of surprise. She looked up at him and was caught even more off guard. He wasn't a grizzled convict like she had expected. There were no visible scars and he didn't have any tattoos that she could see. In fact she couldn't see much of anything about him. He was dressed impressively in armor. She had not expected this at all.

"I uh... I mean.. I... Uh... Yeah no... I uh... Yeah I have money."

She stammered awkwardly as all resolve left her body. She had even begun to shake a little as she pulled the roll of money from her pocket. It had been all of her allowance for the week, roughly 120 dollars. She held it out to him, as her gaze dropped back to the floor. She had learned from the movies that you don't try to get a good look at drug dealers, that they don't like to be identified, and if you could pick them out of a line, you were already dead.

Emma cleared her throat and tried to steady herself a moment before speaking again. "You uh. You got the stuff?"

That sounded right to her. Never say what your buying, just in case someone was listening.

Gyres was quiet for a moment. But then he just started laughing hard. He kept laughing for a little bit before finally calming himself down enough to speak. “Oh my god sweetheart you are so new to this it’s hilarious. Yes I have the dust.” Gyres dug through a bag that was hanging on his belt, soon pulling out a cylinder of the devil dust. Gyres quickly grabbed the money before she could react and then tossed the cylinder to her. “There ya go kid. Go wild or...whatever it is people do on this drug.” Gyres shrugged a little and started to walk off, his bodyguard leading the way.

Everything was happening so fast, and not as Emma expected. And when her drug dealer laughed at her, it only stoked the flames of her confusion. Had she not been so nervous, she might have even laughed along with him in an attempt to make everything seem normal. She wondered if that's why he was doing it, in case anyone saw or heard anything. It was kind of like, Nothing to see here, just two friends sharing a joke. Nothing illegal or incriminating here. It was a good idea. But that's why he was the drug dealer and she was just the buyer. He knew the game as it were. He knew how to avoid getting caught and keep making money. Maybe she could do that. too.

It wasn't until he stopped laughing, an and stated that she was new to this, that she realized this was not some tactic. He had seen through her. All the preparation she had made to try and seem legit had been stripped away, revealing the inexperienced young woman that she was. Emma had wanted to speak, to defend herself but found the transaction had already been completed. He had snatched her money, and tossed her the vial. She had been so surprised that she nearly missed it, which would have resulted in the complete waste of 120 dollars.

As he walked away she examined her new purchase. The glass cylinder was full of a silver grey powder. It looked a little like fine ash, like after you burn an incense cone. She marveled for a moment, this was her first time seeing drugs of any kind in real life and it was kind of a surreal experience for her. But as her senses returned and her mind snapped back to the present, she pocketed the vial and quickly made her way out of the alley to head home.
