It was cloudy, which was good for the half vampire, but it also meant it was cold. So the demonic vampire was bundled up, wandering thr city, enjoying the lack of sunlight. There had been so much craziness happening the last few months, so he was walking and thinking.

He'd stop in front of a shop, his nose twitching as he picked up the scent of hot chocolate. Stepping closer he'd try to look in but found the windows were tinted. With a shrug he'd open the door and step in, only to run right into someone.

He felt hot liquid splash onto his cheek and neck, the person in front of him stumbling back. His tail would lash out, wrapping around her waist to keep her from falling.

The half demon would blink in surprise and confusion. "You ok?" he'd ask, his tail gently propping her back up. "Sorry about that," he'd apologize, ignoring the burn on his face. "Uh, I'll buy you a replacement," he'd say, offering a smile. @GrimRPer

For once, Basté didn't ride her bike. No, if she were to in this cold day, she would have to struggle inhumanly to maintain consciousness. Even her winter clothes weren't doing it, she should have doubled it up. Perhaps a hot drink could perk her up, right? Well... That was the plan...

Unfortunately, her half-absent mind made her unable to perceive someone in her way out the shop, spilling her hot chocolate by sheer accident. "A-Ah, sorry, I've not been myself lately.", good thing the half demon supported her. Sure, she wouldn't fall so easily, but would have stumbled further back, "You don't need to, it's my fault really and... And..."

A sudden breeze that came through made her eyelids heavy, her body slow, and she leaned against the wall, sighing. "I REALLY should have double layered myself."

"Yeaaaaah, you need something hot to drink," stepping close he'd gently place his hand on her arm. "Come on, if the cold bothers you that bad you're gonna get hurt wandering around out here, let's get you back inside," the half demon would gently try to lead her back into the shop. "Besides, I should have been paying more attention, so my treat."

If he managed to get her back inside he'd take her to a seat. "By the scent I picked up I'm guessing you were drinking hot chocolate?" he'd ask with a chuckle, "wait here."

Stepping to counter he'd order a two hot chocolates, one with blood into it for him. He'd quickly return, sitting and passing her the normal one. ""So, uh, I'm Aaron," he'd say, offering a smile, the burn on his face already fading.

The half demon would notice it was not so difficult to pull her back in, and her hand was unusually cold. There was pulse and all, but how... How could a human being be cold-blooded? Basté sure was an oddball... When she took seat at a table, she looked almost like she could fall asleep at any time, resting her head on her arms right there.

Nods were the most she could muster until she was given a hot chocolate and took a long gulp. It took her a little while to process that Aaron was identifying himself, and she gave a low nervous laugh. "Sorry I don't look so hot right now... Cold blood. Name's Basté.", her voice sounded a little distant, her body hasn't warmed up enough.

"Good to meetcha Baste," he'd take a drink of his own hot chocolate. "Yeah, cold blooded means you should probably be staying inside, the winters here get really bad. Were you here for the awful magic blizzard we had a while back?" he remembered how awful that was, how the piles and piles of snow that blocked everything.

"You should get a heat charm,"he'd down some hot chocolate, "I work an enchantment shop if you'd like help finding one." This girl didn't look well, he couldn't help but be concerned.

"So, cold blooded? Are you part reptile being? Your scent seems human," he'd tilt his head, "sorry that probably sounded weird." He'd chuckle. "You want something else with the hot chocolate? Honestly you look like you can use as much hot stuff as possible."

"You don't say?! I thought it made me cooler.", Basté joked with a brief smug to follow the sip, "But yeah, normally I put at least two layers of clothes OR MORE in the winter... I was careless.". How careless? She at least didn't ride her bike here, so she can't be so careless.

The heat charm subject again. "At this point I'm close to considering it. Sure, I can do this:", Basté freed a hand for the sake of creating and firmly grasping a sunlight grenade, "But I worry that it may slip out of my grasp and blow up, hurting a demon, vampire or undead. So normally..." as suddenly as the apparently harmless mini sun appeared in her hand, it disappeared, as if sucked into nothingness.

"Heh, kinda am. Sure, I'm human to a genetic level, but somehow inherited my father's blood and... That somehow causes me to have cold blood. Normally I manage it fine.", after another gulp, she thought for a while and responded "Seconds. And a bar of chocolate or a piping hot coffee."

Aaron would scoot back a bit when the light orb appeared. "Yeah, as a half vampire I'd prefer that it not get dropped," he'd say with a small chuckle, scooting back in once it was gone. "That said...," reaching into his coat pocket he'd pull out a business card and slide it to her. "This is the magic shop I work at, come by sometime and I can show you some of the charms we have."

He'd chuckle. "I'll get you all three," standing he'd step over to the counter, getting her a new hot chocolate, a coffee as well as a small blood pack for himself. "So, I have a question," he'd say as he returned fo his seat and passed her her drinks and snack.

"How old are you?" he'd take a sip of his blood. "You look a little taller than me but I wasn't sure," he'd say with a small chuckle.

She looked at the business card before pocketing it. "I'll be sure to go there once things warms up at least a little. Don't wanna pass out on the way. Brumation is kinda tough....", Basté gave him a thumbs up and waited for the snacks and drinks, prioritizing the chocolate bar and the coffee, so she could heat up and energize to maintain a more coherent conversation.

"Oh? I'm sixteen. And I still have room to grow. Runs in my father's blood, he was damn tall, almost three meters when he passed away in duty.", she spoke of so this casually, showing that what was in the past should remain there.

"Brumation?" he'd take a sip of his coffee, adding some blood to it. "I'd ask if it's some kind of hibernation, but you're obviously awake," he'd say with a chuckle. "That said, I'm definitely getting you a cab when you leave, can't have you getting sick wandering around the city.

"Sixteen?" he'd chuckle, "you're a little younger than me then." His tail would sway a little behind him. "I'm seventeen, but once I learn a bit more shifting I bet I can turn taller than you," he'd say with a playful smirk.

"So human with reptile DNA? That's interesting," he'd scratch his cheek. "I'm half vampire, half demon," he'd raise his tail to show her.

"Brumation is sort of like hibernation, but common to cold-blooded animals or something like that. Kinda annoying, the only pro comes from getting a fever, but comes with the con of having to keep track of how long it is lasting and how high it is. Oh, and I legit have an excuse for falling asleep in the class.", she gave a slightly loud "HAH!" in amusement.

Basté focused her eyes on him as Aaron talked about his age and possibility of shapeshift. "More of the blood being alien, probably. Hm... I had a guess you were probably a demon, but then you ordered blood and I thought you must be a vampire. Being both was a third thought. Plus that's another reason I didn't bring out a sunrise the entire time, since, well... Accidents are better avoided.", she surely had her head in the right place, to sacrifice her well being for the sake of preventing someone else getting hurt.
