Shiro Yoshida

Shiro left the store at a brisk walk, a bag in one hand, she'd gotten herself some new clothes. With Anya being kept away be the school investigation she'd found herself with extra money, she wasn't paying for dates anymore, so she was getting a few things.

Turning a corner she'd speed up only to run into a girl, they'd both fall on their asses, the cat girl blinking in surprise, her ears twitching. "Oh fuck, s-sorry," she'd quickly start helping pick up the girl's things for her, "I was being stupid not looking where I was going."

She'd then look up at the girl, she was attractive, probably a little, "sorry again," she'd offer a smile, "uh...I'm Shiro."

"Ahh, how pretty..."

Evangeline found herself in a local thrift store, thumbing through the dresses on one of the racks. Ah, everything here was just so nice... However, she'd promised herself that she wouldn't spend too much today. She had dinner to eat, obviously, as well as some other shopping necessities she needed to attend to. Despite that, she found herself lingering, grazing her hands over the soft fabrics before finally turning away. Absentmindedly pulling out her phone, she began to text Jackie as she walked out the door, letting them know she'd probably be a little late.

Wham.

Without even watching where she was going as she left the store, Evangeline had run straight into someone and soon found herself flat on the ground.

"O - Oh! My goodness!"

Shaking herself off, she looked up to find herself face to face with a rather cute girl, one who appeared to have... cat ears? Immediately she was reminded of her close friend Amia, and found herself comparing the two in her head before realizing she'd become distracted, and rushed to help the other girl pick up her things.

"Oh, goodness," she repeated, "no, no, it's perfectly okay! I shouldn't have been on my phone, ah, I need to watch where I'm going..."

Feeling extremely flustered, she finally managed to stand up with some of the other girl's things in hand, a rather goofy smile on her face.

"Shiro? That's a lovely name. I'm Evangeline, it's nice to meet you! You can just call me Eva, though, if it suits you!"

She blushed a bit and gave a small smile, "it's not really, it's actually a pretty lazy name really, thank you though." Standing she'd hand the girl her dropped things, "Evangeline, Eva, both sound nice, pretty names," her cat ears twitched a bit as did her tail.

"You're not hurt are you?" she'd ask, looking her up and down, "I'm not big but concrete is still hard." She was an attractive girl, if her depression wasn't so bad she'd probably have tried flirting with her.

Once she was positive Ava wasn't injured she'd check on her things, goth style clothing, like the mini skirt and crop top Shirt she was currently wearing. "Are you shopping too?"

"Ah, thank you!"

A soft blush came over Evangeline's pale cheeks, as she smiled happily and cautiously balanced her shopping things in her arms once more. Now that they were slightly less confused she could get a better look at Shiro, and goodness gracious, she was definitely cute. Just her luck to run into someone like this. She shook her head in response to the question.

"No, no! I'm okay! I might have a scrape somewhere, but no harm done!"

Now that she thought about it, there was a slight stinging pain at the back of her left leg. However, she ignored it; there would be time to treat it once she was home later. She nodded once more in relation to the next question, which reminded her to check and make syre her own clothing wasn't damaged or dirty.

"I am, actually! I'm technically supposed to be shopping for necessities, but... ah, I love thrifting so much. They have so many cute things around this area."

Her arms were full of pastels - blue spotted fabrics, pale pink satins and bright yellow socks littered her little pile of bags. It was an exact opposite to the girl standing in front of her, which she found rather amusing.

She'd giggle a little, "looks like our style is quite different," the cat girl glanced down at her goth style mini skirt and crop top shirt, "that's not a bad thing though, the clothes you have on look really good on you."

Shiro would adjust one of her bags, "you want to walk with me for a bit?" she'd ask, tilting her head slightly. "I was going to grab something at a café nearby if you'd like to join me." She was trying to get out more, get back to being social again and making a new friend was a good start.

The cat girl would sway a little, "I just got my allowance so it'll be my treat," it seemed line a nice thing to do and something to get her mind off of the recent unpleasant matters.

Evangeline giggled as well, seeing as she'd also nnoticed the difference. However, it definitely wasn't a bad thing - she admired people of all different clothing styles, darker kinds not being excluded from this. She couldn't help but fiddle with her hair in embarrassment upon being complimented on her clothing choice - the way she dressed meant a lot to her and was one of her favorite forms of expression.

"Oh my - ahh, thank you so much! I can say the same about you; you look wonderful!"

The offer to go with her to walk and eat was rather exciting. Even though Eva was introverted she absolutely loved making new friends, and wasn't so drained yet that she wasn't up for a bit of an outing. As such, she shifted her things so they'd be more comfortable in her arms and nodded happily.

"I would love that! That's so sweet of you to offer. Where would you like to go?"

The cat girl would motion her to follow, humming just a bit as she does, "uh, are you new? You look around my age but I don't think I've seen you around." It was a big school, so it was near impossible to meet everyone, but the question seemed like a good way to start a conversation.

She'd look at her, glancing at her bags, "you want me to carry some of those?" she didn't have as much to carry and so would make the offer. "It's not to far but you got a lot there."

The cafe wasn't far and so they came to it soon enough, she'd find a table for them outside, sitting, a calm smile on her face. "So uh....you like the school?" it'd been a while since she'd just sat down with a friend.

Cheerfully as ever, Evangeline immediately shifted her belongings and went to follow after Shiro. This was a rather exciting new turn in what she'd meant to be a mere day for shopping, so her mood was lifted up immensely. She shrugged her shoulders in response to the question; unsure herself of whether or not she could actually be called "new" per se.

"Well, sort of? I've only lived here and gone to the academy for a year now. So, I'm not new-new, but I definitely haven't been here for ages, either."

She also nodded afterwards, indicating the load of bags in her arms.

"Oh, my - you don't have to if it's a bother, but - I would definitely appreciate it."

The sentiment overall caused a happy smile to appear on her face. Her new friend seemed to be quite kind, and she always appreciated that in a person. As the two of them sat down she set her things on the ground by her feet and took a moment to stare around, already liking the little cafe.

"Oh, I love the school! It's so unique, I've never seen or heard of anything like it. It's wonderful being in a place where I don't have to hide who I am. Have you been here long, or are you new as well?"

The cat girl would happily help her vary the bags, she wasn't any stronger than a human in thus form, but the bags weren't heavy really.

She'd giggle a bit one they'd taken their seats, "you've been here longer than me then." She'd gently rub behind one of her cat ears, getting rid of an annoying itch, "I've been here about six month now," she'd tilt her head in thought, "doesn't seem all that long when you think about it....but then a lot has actually happened," it was so odd that it's only been about six months.

The waitress would appear and she'd order her coffee, letting her new friend order what ever she wanted. "The island and school...it's all really strange, but also really cool. I grew up with magic, but there's just so much of it here."

"Really? Only six months? I guess we both have a lot to learn, then!"

A small laugh escaped Evangeline's lips, and she watched her friend with a smile. The other was right that it truthfully didn't feel like that short of a time. This island was constantly teeming with activity, making such a miniscule period feel like it had been ages. However, she was jerked out of her distracted thoughts as the waitress arrived, and took a moment to order some coffee with cream. She wasn't in the mood for much else, and didn't feel like imposing on Shiro's generosity.

She nodded as Shiro spoke once more. "I know, isn't it? It's so odd living someplace where absolutely everything is magic in some way. I'm so used to having to hide my abilities that I'm still getting used to it."

She thought for a moment as she said the words, clasping her hands in front of her.

"But... I really am grateful for all the opportunities. This place is unlike any I've ever been to, and all the things you can do are so amazing." Here she paused for a moment before continuing. "You said you grew up with magic? That's so interesting! I only ever had one human family member; I didn't even know I had abilities for the longest time."
