The fact that they'd essentially asked someone out on a date had hit them shortly after they'd gotten home. They went through a brief panic but quickly pushed through it, surely it was going to be ok.

So the next morning he'd arrive at their chosen meeting spot. Flying in he'd spot Vivian, smiling he'd wave before lowering himself to the ground. "Good morning," he'd say, brushing some hair from his face. "The wind is quite calm today, so it won't be as cold."

He'd step to her. "You ok with me picking you up?" if she gave him the go ahead he'd gently lift her into his arms. "I'll start a bit slow," wind would be conjured up beneath them, and slowly they'd ascend in to the air. @Kait

The very last thing Vivian had expected was to be asked out on a date by a cute genderfluid half-dragon. And this had to be what was happening, right? Flying her around? Going out for lunch after? It was kind of romantic.

She spent a while that morning thinking about her clothes. Maybe she could wear... one of the dresses she'd gotten, with a long sleeve shirt under it and a warm jacket over it. Then what? Tights and boots? That would probably work. Or would she look stupid? She googled it - yes, that was a normal way people actually dressed sometimes. But was it good enough for a date?

It wasn't like she had anything better in her closet. And she'd have to hurry, or she would be late.

Soon, she was at the meeting place in front of the dorms, and Arno was hovering down to meet her, flying around like some kind of superhero or Dragonball Z character.

She spoke into his mind. 'Hey Arno.'

Vivian agreed to let her pick him up. She somehow wasn't expecting to be princess-carried, or for being princess-carried to have such an effect on her emotionally. It felt so intimate. And Arno was so strong. She looked up at him. She was blushing.

Well, it was too late to chicken out now.

'Where are we going to go flying around?'

He'd smile, blushing a little bit himself. "Well...over the city to start with," and so he'd take them in that direction, riding on his magic wind. "After that I want to show you my favorite spot," soon enough they came to the city, they could see everything below them.

Arno would stop above a a large market, enchanted floating heaters kept it warm, allowing people to shop and keep booths open. People were running around, some booths were showing how to use magic products, ome such merchant was trying to show potions. "These are some of my favorite places in the city, so many exotic things to see," he'd continue, flying over it, stopping to let her see the various magical sites.

As they left the market airspace he'd stop as he spotted a large phoenix flying, he'd point it out to her. "You'll see that a lot flying up, dragons, phoenix, I once saw a tentacle monster float by," he'd continue on, the wind carrying them, landing on top of one of the buildings. "I remember when I first got here, I was afraid to fly, wasn't used to the buildings and such," he'd chuckle, "you're the first person I've taken flying."

Flying through the air was both exhilarating and terrifying. It was like a roller coaster with a very real possibility of being dropped to her death. She held on tight to Arno as he carried her.

The airborne tour of the city was pretty fun. She thought of a helicopter ride she had gone on before. Oddly enough, this was giving her less motion sickness. A few times, she would point out something particularly unusual or exotic in the marketplaces below, occasionally asking about it.

Arno had mentioned showing her 'his favorite spot.' Vivian found herself wondering if Arno was going to try making out with her. If he did, how would she even handle that?

She waved to the passing phoenix. It was probably people, just like the dragons and - tentacle monsters? - that they would also see up here sometimes.

When Arno set her down on that roof, her legs shook. It didn't help that she was, apparently, his first passenger. She laughed a little, then spoke to him telepathically: 'That was crazy. Like, terrifying, but in a fun way.' She looked around the rooftop. 'Is this that favorite spot you were telling me about? Or are we just taking a break so your arms can rest?' She wouldn't complain if it was that second thing - getting dropped from a hundred feet up or however high they had been wasn't on her list of things.

He'd keep his arm wrapped around her, making sure she didn't lose balance. "Oh no, my arms I'm fine, I just thought you'd like a break before we continue," he'd say with a smile, "I know that flying around on wind can be very disorienting the first time, plus the cold air." Reaching into his bag he'd pull pull out a thermos and would offer it to her, "I brought some hot chocolate if you'd like some.

Once she'd warmed up and was ready, he'd put the hot chocolate away and would gently lift her into his arms again. So they'd take off again, up and towards the coast. "Now I'll show you my favorite spot," soon, a lighthouse came into a view, "there it is."

The half dragon would carry them up, landing on the gallery that was built around the lantern glass. "Lighthouses haven't really been needed since ever since the island was moved to the pocket dimension." He'd gently set her down. "So, this one is pretty much abandoned...and it's my favorite spot," one side gave them.a view of the ocean, the beautiful waters, the other of the forest and small.groupings of homes. "Its so beautiful up here," he'd smile, I wanted to share it with you."

He brought hot chocolate for her? 'No thanks,' Vivian told him, 'I'm saving my appetite for lunch.'

The rooftop wasn't quite impressive enough to be his favorite place, after all.

The abandoned lighthouse was a completely different story. It was really cool, it was secluded, and it had a beautiful view. Vivian's legs didn't shake quite as much this time when she stood upright on the observation deck - but that was a low bar. She steadied herself against the guardrail and took in the view of the coastline. 'I can see why it's your favorite,' she said with her telepathy. It was definitely the most scenic view she'd seen since coming here - she almost wanted to take a picture and send it to her family.

Then, Vivian realized how perfect of a makeout spot this place would be. It occurred to her, once again, that Arno might try making a move on her up here. Vivian still didn't know how she would handle that. Ah, geez, she was getting stressed out about it again.

He'd chuckle. "Me and my parents have been looking at potential homes, this place is definitely my favorite," he'd say with a smile. "It'd be perfect, nice and tall for me and my mom, since were both air dragons," plus his cute dating liking it was a nice plus.

A sea serpent would pop its head out of the water, letting out a loud yawn that probably sounded roarish. "He was here last time," Arno would say with a chuckle, "must be a neighbor." The tall serpent would look up at the lighthouse, raising a tail from the water he'd wave at the pair before swimming and going on his way. "The plants and coral in the water actually glow at night, once it warms up I'll bring you to see it."

'Wait, you guys could just buy this up and live in it?'

Vivian found herself wondering how that would even work. Did it even have space for a proper bedroom? Bathrooms? Or was there some other building nearby that she'd missed on the way in, which was attached and where they would actually live. It would be just like in that horror movie The Lighthouse. Hopefully living here would be nicer for Arno than anything in that movie.

She waved back at the sea serpent with childlike glee. What a friendly critter! She was still getting used to the idea that critters like that were usually people.

Arno mentioned that the coral and plants in the water glow. 'That sounds awesome, man. I'll definitely want to come see it.'

She might even let Arno be the one to take her back here to see it, depending on how things played out.

Reaching up, they'd activate their charm. "Mhm, some things would to need to be altered and such but if my parents decide on it we could end up living here." She'd smile, "I hope we get it, it'd be perfect, tall and with lots of open air for me and my mom's wind magic training."

"I remember the guy giving the tour said some of the plant species originated from Atlantis," she'd chuckle. "I don't know if it's true but they are pretty."

He'd look up, watching as a small group of wyverns fley by. "I'm still getting used to it, dragons and such just flying around," she'd chuckle, "sometimes I get up in the morning, and for bit I've forgotten I'm allowed to fly to school now."

Vivian nodded. 'Yeah, that Atlantis detail sounds kinda sus to me too.'

She couldn't really relate to this wind magic stuff, or anything about not being allowed to fly to school. 'So, Training?' Vivian's mouth wasn't moving, but Arno would be able to hear the confusion in her voice and see it on her face when Vivian turned to look at him.

No, Arno was a her now. Confusion mingled with surprise.

'Oh, you changed. Damn that's cool. Uh, so, what kind of training are you talking about?'

Vivian kind of wished she could do that, sometimes.
