Abigail Woodman
Pronunciation: Abi-GALE wood-man
Nicknames: Abby; Sea Lion (by Barty) Category: Citizen Age: 25 Birthday: September 14 Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Occupation: Singer/Performer at Club Orpheus Significant Other: Bartholomew Woodman [husband] Offspring: Barty Jr. [deceased] Race: Merfolk Race Sub-class: Selkie Appearance
Height: 5'3"
Build: Slight curve Full Body Reference Abigail's human form is a work of beauty. There is something soft about her as a person. Her face is heart-shaped with eyes of a brilliant blue. Her thick, straight hair falls to her waist in a pool of silken red. There's a certain mischievousness to her eye and a sharp wit to the things she says that makes her come off unique. This can, of course, also be contributed to her only active ability. Her face is always healthily flushed, and while no one would call her chubby in the least, there is definitely softness around her edges. Abigail is an athletic hourglass. Her legs and rear are the most defined thing about her muscle structure, along with her arms, which is just a show of how often she can be found in the water. She favors clothing in pinks, greens, and deep reds with some light flower or butterfly motifs. Her style is trendy, but not particularly flashy. Selkie Form![]() In her Selkie form, Abigail is about as large as a leopard seal and pale as ice. She has a few faded spots on her tail, which cuts off somewhere around her bellybutton. Her hair is shorter and faded, more lifeless in this form than her human one. Her fingers are very long and thin, with claws on each finger, and webbing combining all of them. Her face is not entirely human, either. Her nose is flat and takes the shape of an anthropomorphic seal, along with whiskers and deep black eyes that always seem a little sad. |

Personality
Abigail is a difficult person to understand on an emotional level. This isn't because she's so out of reach or so superior to others that they couldn't 'get' it, but it certainly feels that way due to the nature of her halo effect.
Because of her magical halo effect, Abigail gives off that odd presence of perfection that many people will recall from school. The popular girl who everyone loved and who was never teased.
She's excellent at everything she does (or so people think), and she's never had a bad day in her entire life. Her laughter melts cold hearts, and the warmth in her eyes is so delightful people can't help but open up.
Truth is, Abigail herself is a little confused about who she is behind the ability. She's never lived a life without others fawning over her.
This has certainly left her a people's person, with little social anxiety, and a big heart. But it also has Abby feeling lonely even in crowds. She can't name a time outside of her husband where she's had a genuine friendship.
Despite her aura of self-confidence and the easy air in which she interacts with the people around her as well and natural as if she's known them their entire lives, Abby has a level of impatience with the world and people in general. She's quick to frustration with things she doesn't understand. Her temper, when blown, is as bright and fiery as her hair.
Abilities
Passives
Halo Effect: Abigail has a passive aura around her that is a stronger version of the psychological "halo effect." People view her in a "perfect" light, making it hard to relate to her (or have her connect to anyone else).People will automatically be inclined to believe Abigail is beautiful, talented, and celebrated. She doesn't have problems; her life is perfection. She will always be endearing while doing anything.
People tend to crush on her in that stuttery, starry-eyed kind of infatuation people get for their heroes. This ability also means people are more likely to feel competitive or envious of Abigail.
Abigail comes off like a piece of art. Unapproachable. Impossibly perfect. Lovely. And no matter someone's standard of beauty, Abby somehow manages to surpass it.
Shapeshifting: Abigail can shift her form between human or selkie by removing her seal skin. She is not forced to be a seal in the water or a human on land.
When Abigail's seal skin is harmed, this is excruciatingly painful for her. She feels the extent of the damage and whatever is inflicted on her seal skin will show up on her own body as well. Her seal skin heals at the same rate as her human body. Neither one can be wounded or healed separately.
Speed Swimming: While in the water wearing her seal skin, Abigail's swim speed is significantly increased, allowing her to torpedo through the water at such a pace that she becomes a blur. This makes turning complicated.
Water Adaption: Abigail can adapt to any ocean, lake, or other body of water when in her seal form. She can withstand extreme pressures and cold temperature; her lung compacity allows her to swim underwater for nearly an hour without having to come up for air. She can see perfectly underwater and is capable of using the reverberations below to feel out what may be around her.
Common Magic Items
Aura Warning Bracelet: While not actually magical, Manta Carlos distributes customized bracelets for those with auras. Depending on the shape and color, people can tell at a glance the approximate range and nature of the aura of the wearer.Weaknesses
Sea Bound: Abigail must have access to the sea, or she will become depressed. This is more than an emotional decay as it will significantly affect her physical health as well. Within a month with no contact with the sea, Abigail is in critical condition.Seal Skin: Abigail's seal skin is her greatest weakness. She is not able to keep it with her at all times and, if found by someone, Abigail is under their power and generally speaking, considered to be their wife. She cannot disobey their orders.
If the seal skin is destroyed, Abigail becomes human.
History

Later, feeling guilty, he returned her skin to her and they grew closer. The two were later married.
○ Moved to Manta Carlos, Barty went to the corn maze and was killed, leaving Abigail a pregnant widow.
○ Abigail took to the sea after the birth of her son, who was rather sickly, in a desperate attempt to save his life. It failed and she returned to the island. Only to find her husband was not only alive but possessed by his Goetic Demon father, Sitri.
