Barty is five foot eleven with a broad shouldered, muscular build. He has shoulder length dark brown hair, tan skin with a few scars dotting it, and brown eyes with black sclera instead of white. He keeps a certain amount of chin scruff, but doesn't let it grow into a full beard he would need to maintain.

He dresses nicely when he's working, and when he goes out with his wife, preferring slacks and button down shirts with ties. Other times however, he dresses very casually, with baggy jeans and large t-shirts that hide his physique.

Barty is a shell of his former self in many ways. Generally gone is his brimming confidence, replaced by anger and by fear of himself and what he might be capable of. He regrets the things that he did under his father's influence, but cannot bring himself to admit or truly atone for his crimes.

He is trying, however, to return to normal as best as he can. He seems to return to his normal self when faced with a situation that makes him draw on his Hunter knowledge and/or skills.

Active
Goetic Sigil
Barty has a sigil unique to him. If anyone carries his sigil, usually marked on their body, they can communicate with him telepathically. If he agrees, the individual can also summon him to their location.

Passive
Eyes of the Mage
Barty can see magic. This lets him see how enchanted objects connect to a person, how certain types of magic work, and even if a magical effect is being activated when it would otherwise be impossible to tell.
This has the added benefit of making Bartholomew immune to magical mental assault, up to and including mind control.

Goetic Body
Barty's body is, for all intents and purposes, human. However, he does not require food to sustain himself and maintains peak physical performance without exercise. His pain receptors are dulled; he still registers pain but the amount it would take to actually register as pain would likely kill him anyway. Injuries that break the skin cause it to crack like porcelain.

Weakness
Goetic True Name
Barty has a true name, Npesis, and a sigil. If someone learns his true name, they can demand one favor from him and can bypass his immunity to mental magic. His sigil can also be used to bind him to a location if he is tricked into walking into it. If someone knows Barty's true name, he cannot refuse being summoned.

Barty was born in the United States, to a single mother. He was raised to be a monster hunter until his mother died and he continued her work. He never learned who his father was.

Years after he started working as a monster hunter, he met a Selkie named Abigail who proved to be a difficult hunt. Eventually the two fell in love and moved to Manta Carlos, where they cold be married.

Barty was killed during the Corn Maze incident of 2016 and Abigail left the island. In Spring of 2017, Barty came back to the island in a new body, given to him after relative years of torture in the hell of the Goetic Demon Prince Sitri, his father.

Barty, under Sitri's magic, committed the demon' lord's will on Earth and tormented a number of young women. Abigail returned and she became the focus of his ire. Abigail was eventually able to banish Sitri, and the married couple are attempting to start over and fix their broken lives.

Owns a modest home by the sea with his wife, Abigail. Lower-Middle Class salary between the two of them.
