Veronica shuffled happily through the first batch of fallen leaves, using her cane to make as much noise as humanly possible. Autumn was her favorite season, what with everyone else hating it. It made her feel a bit better that she couldn't see when everything everyone else thought beautiful was dying.

She yawned, twirling her cane mindlessly. Class had been out for a half hour, and she was starting to get bored with aimless wandering. She sat down on a stone bench, picking a leaf off the ground and pulling it apart.

Sonlath sighed walking toward the girl though with no reason to talk to her...the 12 yr old had a ciggarette in his mouth a book in one hand and a beer can in the other he sighed as he walked not relising where he was going for some reason being a paper master meant liking books to strange extents...

Veronica sniffed the air, tilting her head to the side cautiously. "Is someone smoking?" She hadn't heard anyone approach, but it didn't smell like burning leaves. "What I wouldn't give for a cigarette right now..." She sighed, groping around for another leaf to torture when she heard the slosh of liquid in a can. "Ok, what is this? The world's quietest party?"

Sonlath began to walk right past her looking at her once out of the corner of her eyes then back to his book he never stopped walking once he took a sip from the beer can and sighed wondering what he could do now...

She shrugged. "Alright. Whatever. Don't talk to me." She frowned, wondering if she should bother asking the person where they'd gotten the smokes. She opened her mouth to say something else, stopping herself and shrugging again. She doubted they'd answer her anyway... She sniffed again, throughly enjoying the smell.

Sonalth sighed and looked at her. "What?" He asked offering her a smoke and a light from his lighter if she smoked maybe he could get someone to defend him against someone who didn't want him to smoke...

Was he offering her a cigarette? She frowned, reaching out with her mind until she felt the slender object. She reached out, having to grope around for a few seconds before she grasped it. The corners of her mouth twitched into a lightning quick smile, and she muttered a quiet "Thanks.". She took the lighter, flipping it open and lighting up with one swift motion. "I've been here six months, and still haven't find a place to buy smokes." She willed the object back into the boy's hand, tilting her head in his general direction. "If you've found 'em in less then that, I'm probably going to kill myself."

She exhaled, shrugged. "Makes sense. I doubt I could steal them anyway." She'd have to go behind the counter and feel around before she even knew where they were... Anyway, she'd tried it before, when she was in high school. It didn't work.

"How are you getting away with this? Beer in one hand, cigarette in the other... You can't be more then sixteen or so. Seems like you'd be getting a lot of 'save the boy from himself'-ers."
