Zarita sat at an empty table in the outside area of a smallish cafe, sipping some tea as she waited for her secret santa to arrive. She came to the meeting spot a bit earlier than the assigned meeting time to just enjoy this tea on her own.

Her secret santa didn't specify their wants in a lot of detail, but did give her insight into some interests; Combat related stuff and books. She didn't really know where or how she could get anything combat-related if they were talking about guns or the like, so she opted to get some books instead. And so, sitting right in front of her under the table, was a gift bag with a collection of books inside. They were of an action sci-fi series centred around a school for supervillains. She found them enjoyable enough, so she got more copies of those for her gift.

Personally, she didn't think much about gems. Sure it was pretty, sparkly, and to some held meaning, but because of her disinterest in them, they were quickly written off from her possible gifts to give her secret Santa. It wasn't because she didn't like them, she simply wouldn't know which to get. Plus, those things would be expensive as hell. It wasn't like she could find them inside some old pot out in the wilderness.

Luckily she had another option, and it was a whole lot easier to gather in bulk. There was a total of ten hardbound mystery novels split between two of her favorite mystery novels, which were all inside a case she built herself. It was rectangular, wooden and painted with the festive red, green and white. The interior was lined with foam, so no matter how badly the case was handled, the contents would be safe. Great for storing anything precious. There was also a handle at the top for easy carriage. The lock was a set of three simple cogs with numbers, shapes, and symbols etched on them. The combination was written on a note she taped to the front. She thought it be useful for her secret Santa.

She looked at the clock and decided to get going after putting a neat little bow on the box. Aliasse pulled on her dark jacket, gloves and cap and set off to their designated meeting place. A cafe if she remembered rightly.

The snowy scenery was perfect for the season. Not too overcast nor too cold. Once there, she approached a young woman sitting by herself. Was this the girl she was giving the gift to? She was adorable.

"Hello there," she said politely with a smile on her face. "Would you happen to be Zarita Davis?"

Zarita was just about finished with her tea when she was approached by a woman. She was likely her assigned secret santa.

"Yes, in fact I am." She replied, returning the woman's smile. "You must be Aliasse Ryley, then?"

After the woman replied, she would proceed to take out her gift.
"You said you liked books, right? I got you this collection I like, it should be a good read."

Confirmed that this was the girl, she took her seat across from the young lady. "Books?" she echoed with a small chuckle, then apologetically scratched the back of her head. "Sorry if that seemed rude. I just found it a little funny that--"

She placed the box on the table, and smiled brightly. "--I got you some books too, from two of my favorite series. And also a little coded box for storage. You did like puzzles and books, right?"

While Zarita initially thought nothing of Aliasse's reaction at first, she had to chuckle back when she realised they'd both gotten each other books!

"Yeah, that I did!" she replied with a smile in return as she examined her gift. She really liked that she added the box with a code on it. "Thank you! I've got to say, this coded box is a nice touch." She tried the combination on a note on the front of the box to reveal the books inside, though she didn't take them out. She would have to give these a read later.

"I'm glad you liked it. I've added some buttons inside the box directly under the mechanism if you wanted to change the code." After her sister kept opening her coded locks, Aliasse knew how important the ability to change the code was.

Opening the gift bag, she saw a couple of books as promised, and pulled the front out half way to peek at the cover. Her eyes widened slightly. "I've always wanted to get copies of these. I heard these are real page-turners."

She tucked the book back in and smiled at the girl. "Thanks. Now I'll have something to read when I'm off work!"
