She hadn't stepped outside the school since arriving, what's more, Ylzkzyzxzkzxyzz was completely unsupervised! Admittedly she was given relatively little attention around the school, but she was observed. People tried to keep tabs on Ylzkzyzxzkzxyzz, they kept her from talking to certain students or researching certain topics. Now she'd slipped away. How exactly do you let a huge bug slip out of a building like Starlight Academy. She was able to make her way down to the city, and Downtown.

There were so many new creatures, so many new smells and tastes and sights. Ylz was chirping happily, and it was almost impossible for her not to start spreading and flapping her bright, patterned wings. She had taken to investigating and poking her head into anything she can find. Stores, street-side stalls, bushes, anything. In fact, for someone who had just snuck out from what appeared to be some sort of observed curfew, she was doing very little to hide herself or remain inconspicuous...

Sid was having a good day. He woke up and had a hearty breakfast of pancakes and a bottle of rum before he went to work for a few hours. It was a pretty light day all things told--not that it was h=ever particulayl busy unless there was shipment of supplies for the school.

But he left work at his normal time, swung by the market to pick up some food to cook in the dorm kitchens--he felt adventurous today, and picked up a random spice he'd never tried before. he wondered what Cream of Tartar even tasted like.

But as he was walking, he saw... a bug.

A giant bug.

It looked like it was over six feet tall, with a frilled collar and mandibles that would be able to crush his head.

Well, this was..... certainly new.

Sid was a sucker for new. "AY!" He yelled to it. "Yo, buggy!"

Ylz stopped moving completely, what was a 'buggy'? She hastily tried to remember her English terminology. Buggy, buggy, buggy... A small, padded cart used to transport human larva, or very old slang for one of their motorized vehicle. Was Ylz in danger of being hit by a car!? Or was a baby coming by in a carriage? Ylz scurried back and forth, turning on the spot and looking around in a sort of panic.

Was she in danger? Was someone else in danger? Did she have to avoid the buggy or catch it? Ylz finally decided the only course of action was to brace herself, moving fully onto the sidewalk and gripping the ground with all six of her limbs. She couldn't help but put on a bit of a threat display, her body turning bright green and red as she waited for an inevitable impact from the possibly incoming buggy.

Ooooookay. In hindsight, probably not the best way to get the attention of a giant bug.

Maybe it didn't realize it was a bug? Did it even know the word for bug? Did it even know English? Perhaps he should have considered all of this before yelling out to a giant.... insectoid creature.

But the drow had certainly seen many things magnitudes worse while he lived underground, so it was no big deal. It helped that she didn't actually look dangerous. Green and red made her look like a Christmas decoration, and there wasn't anything that was less scary to Sid than Christmas.

The drow walked up to her properly.

"Hey, no need to be so jumpy. I was talking to you."
