Knowing that Marisol didn't really want to go to the dance with him, he wouldn't be surprised if she didn't even show. But Dev hoped she would come. Because one, it would make him look like an idot, and two, she needed to relax and have a good time. Something Dev--being an egotistical guy that he was--knew he could help her have.

Dev crossed his arms across his chest and waited for his date to appear.

Marisol scowled at the reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a black fifties style dress. She hated dresses and she was ONLY wearing one because she had promised Dev that she would go to the dance with him. No matter how much she wanted to, she wouldn't break her promise.

She went down to the ballroom after putting on her high heels. She looked around for Dev.

Dev spotted Marisol and smiled as he walked over toward her. "You made it," he said, stating the obvious. Dev looked her her before glancing down at himself. He looked like he had just walked out of the movie Grease.

"Thank you, Captain Obvious." Marisol said sarcastically, but she was smiling. She looked like she was straight out of Grease, too, and she hated it. She crossed her arms, feeling awkward and out of place.

Dev leaned close, and hopeing to reasure her, whispered, "Don't worry. Everyone else looks the same too. I meself wished this had been a future type dance so I could dress as an alien, but oh well."

Marisol thought about saying 'really, I thought you would hope for an occupation day so you could come as an annoying little twit'. But she just laughed instead. "Yes, I can see that." She told him.

Dev held out his hand. "Want to dance?" He hoped she would, or at least slap his hand away and say something.

Marisol made a face but she took his hand anyway. "Only if you promise not to laugh at my terrible dance skills." She said with a roll of her eyes. She really was a little embarrassed though.

Dev grinned. "Okay. But you can't hurt me--physically or emotionally--if I step on your feet or something." He held her hand tightly and swung her onto the dance floor. It was a swing dance.

"I can't promise that." Marisol teased trying to relax. It was hard though. "So...um...how are you?" She said lamely.
