A Soothing Atmosphere

As she knelt by the water of the lake, Natalia scooped up some water in her hand. In less than a second she had the exact amount of everything that was in the bit of water in her palm. Her lip curling up in disgust at the germs and other particles, she poured the water back and wiped her hand off on the grass.

Standing, she began walking. Twenty minutes later she had worked her way around the whole lake, and was back where she had started. The cool breezy made the branches on nearby trees sway back and forth, creating a soothing atmosphere.

With a small smile she flatted herself against the earth and gazed at the clouds, creating images out of them.

Natalia glanced over at the boy beside her and smiled. She had watched as he danced, and wanted to say she thought he danced goo, but instead kept the compliment to herself. She didn't know him so didn't know his personality and that led to her not knowing how he would react to anything she said.

"Ello, child!"

She quickly came up with his name. "Hello," She greeted back, not saying his name because she wanted to pretend she knew nothing about him. Which practically, she did. Know nothing, that is.

Rolling over onto her stomach, Natalia propped herself up with her forearms and grinned cheekily at him.

"How are you this fine day, missy?"

Natalia shrugged. "Same as always, really. Fine. And you?" Her answer seemed evasive and fake but it was true.

She felt sand in the bottom of her jeans, but didn't move to let it out. She didn't want to move at the moment.

"I'm gewdeh two-shoes!"

Natalia laughed along with him. She wasn't completely sure what he meant by those words, but she was guessing it meant he was fine/good or something like that.

"I'm James Castilllo, fear me!"

Delighted that he was obviously wanting to be her friend. She gave a 'frightened' look--the best she could give--and nodded. She smiled. "I'm Natalia Voronkova," She said, her Russian accent deepening when she said her name.
