Celeste looked at the recorder and nodded, "Yes, I did feel unsafe. More like scared witless. In fact, I put up a protective barrier spell on the house afterwards. It seals the whole house, place inside and out." she informed Officer Drakenhart as she gestured for him to take a seat at the kitchen table.

"Would you like something to drink maybe some tea, coffee, water?" Celeste asked the officer curiously as she busied herself by putting the kettle on for herself. The idea of having something to do relaxed her made her less anxious remembering that awful old woman and the lizardmen that had come around looking for the elf.

"Tea sounds lovely, if it's not too much trouble," Roldan said as he took a seat, recorder down on the table and his hat on his knee. He mulled over the things that she said and nodded once. She was definitely anxious, but that made sense. She had a son to take care of.

"Can you describe these visitors at all? Even a vague description can help us know who to keep an eye on."

Celeste took out a teapot, added a few tablespoons of tea leaves, and then hot water. She let it steep as she continued on with her account.

"Well, there were two individuals..." she said thoughtfully, "A man, a lizard type man, and an old woman, frankly... she was awful... " Celeste said, shuddering unconsciously at the memory of her, as she then placed two teacups on the table - one for her and one for Officer Drakenhart - and poured them each a cup.

"Did you want sugar, milk, honey or lemon in your tea? I can also offer orange if you'd like?" she said with a smile. "Orange in tea is a personal favourite of mine," she confessed.

A reptilian person and a, by the sound of it, extremely elderly woman. That was a strange combination, though certainly not the strangest. Roldan kept the recording going for now, and nodded politely when she placed the cup in front of him. "You know, I've never tried orange in my tea. I suppose there's a dlfirst time for everything. Honey and orange, please."

Once his tea was properly stirred with it's additives, he took a moment to enjoy the smell before taking a sip. "Oh that's good. Now, ah. Back to business. You said these people made you feel unsafe. What were they doing, exactly? Did they come around just the one time, or on multiple occasions?"

It was Roldan's opinion that random petty crime didn't really happen on Manta Carlos. At least not to any reasonable scale. Because someone walking into a bank to hold the place up would quickly be reminded that on Manta Carlos, rarely are you ever the baddest ass in the room.

Celeste sat down across from Officer Drakenhart, stirred her own orange tea, and considered his questions thoughtfully before answering

"Well, the lizardman just kind of stood back at first, watching the old woman... Frais, I think was her name," Celeste said, taking a sip of her tea.,"She was the one that came to the door. Asking if I had seen an injured man, that he was dangerous... "Celeste said as she looked at the officer before her, "When I told her that I hadn't, she then tried to force her way into the house asking if I had cut myself because she smelled blood..." Celeste said as calmly as possible as she then looked down at her cup for a second. The memory of that interaction still bothered her greatly.

Roldan was writing things down now, asking for clarification on other parts of her story. "What man were they looking for? Did they tell you at all?"

That was concerning. Like, really concerning. Roldan inhaled, almost instinctively trying to see if he could smell blood himself. But all he could smell was the tea and the fresh baked bread.

But there were more important questions. "Have these people been back since.. How long shot was this?"

"No, they haven't been back, not to my knowledge, not to the house itself..." Celeste said shaking her head,"But every so often it feels like somebody is watching... or lurking in the woods, behind the trees in the backyard." she said as her gaze moved to the window that led to the backyard, and a treed area beyond that.

"It was probably 8 or ten days ago... I really should have reported it back then, but ..." here she looked at the officer as her voice trailed off, she really didn't know really what to say. For Shale's sake, she realised she should have said something before now.

Roldan turned off his recorder and took a sip of his tea. He figured he knew the reason, and it read in the way she carried herself and reacted to things. "You didn't want to drag Shale through more trouble than necessary. And you've got a lot on your plate as is, with the adoption."

"I get that," he said with a nod. "That said, yeah, you probably should have mentioned it when it happened since it made you feel so unsafe. But, I'll start least tell you what I can do for you right now. I can have the area areound your house scheduled for extra patrols. Maybe deter them. And if you ever feel the need to call the police..."

Roldan took out a notepad and a pen. He wrote down some things, tore out the page, and passed it to Celeste. "This is my badge number. If you call the station and request I come out, I can be here in no more than fifteen minutes."

Celeste looked at the officer gratefully. "I feel stupid. I know better than this... I am a teacher for goodness sake. I tell my students that if they feel unsafe or anything to reach out to an adult or a police officer, and here I am... " stopping, she shook her head. Hindsight - and it was very easy to give advice than follow it yourself. Now she understood her students' reticence better.

"Thank you for helping out, and for bringing Shale home, I am very grateful... " she said accepting the piece of paper, "I will certainly keep this, and you are, Officer Roldan Drakenhart, no?" she enquired curiously.

"Trust me, I know. Having kids changes your perspective on things. You start worrying about things you wouldn't think twice about before. Parenting is tough."

Roldan finished off his tea and set the cup down, then pocketed his recorder. "Yeah. Roldan Drakenhardt. Thsnk you for the tea and the report. I'll be sure to get those patrols out here as soon as possible."

Roldan stood up, still holding onto his hat and gave Celeste a small nod and a smile. "I'll take a quick look around the perimeter of the house before I head out. Unless there's anything else?"
